Who is Ron Spomer
For 44 years I’ve had the good fortune to photograph and write about my passion - the outdoor life. Wild creatures and wild places have always stirred me - from the first flushing pheasant that frightened me out of my socks in grandpa’s cornfield to the last whitetail that dismissed me with a wag of its tail. In my attempts to connect with this natural wonder, to become an integral part of our ecosystem and capture a bit of its mystery, I’ve photographed, hiked, hunted, birded, and fished across much of this planet. I've seen the beauty that everyone should see, survived adventures that everyone should experience. I may not have climbed the highest mountains, canoed the wildest rivers, caught the largest fish or shot the biggest bucks, but I’ve tried. Perhaps you have, too. And that’s the essential thing. Being out there, an active participant in our outdoor world.

Great advice, Ron. I think your tip regarding the thumb is excellent.
Ron you’re a great guy. Great video. Life is good.
I speak from experience on knowing what your rifle “likes” to shoot. I was having terrible luck getting very good groups out of just about any ammo i shot in a cheap Ruger American 6.5 creedmoor. And was getting pretty bummed that I just couldn’t seem to shoot that rifle well. And finally discovered that it’s “favorite” ammo is gold box federal fusion, and the groups are about as good as they’re gonna get without a LOT of hand-reloading to find something better.
I watched the 4th and 5th shots at .25x speed and you can see the 4th shot go into the 3rd shot hole and the 5th shot go into the 2nd shot hole. Excellent group.
Excellent instructions. Thanks
She shot really well with those thick gloves!
Excellent shooting by the lady. I was jealous! Great attention to safety by Ron. All around great training video. I wish KZhead was around when I was a kid. I was just born forty years too soon.
Excellent presentation! Ron has a great temperament for a teacher. Stay safe and God bless 🇺🇸☠️🇺🇸!!!
Several great advices I haven't heard before.
thanks for this and all of your videos Ron! those are gold!!
Jess nailed it great job.
Great video!
A really nice instructional video, Ron it would of been really funny if you said, hunt honest and shoot like Jess haha. She done amazing for the first time shooting a rifle.
And I heard she got her first deer with a 270 Win. a few days later. 270 yard shot! Wish I'd been there.
@@RonSpomerOutdoors thats a pretty good poke. Good on her.
Yes that definitely would of been nice to see, she made a good choice picking a 270 win, a flat shooter with moderate recoil.
Love this guys video's
Sorry for the off topic question, but what vest is that? My dad loves it and I want to surprise him for his birthday!
Does anyone have a link to Part 1? I can't find it!
kzhead.info/sun/h7F6mN2tgIN9haM/bejne.html
Where is part 1? I have searched his channel youtube videos and scrolled searching them, nothing anywhere near this one that is related.
Jess did very well indeed!
Hahahaha love it..
What scopes are you using on these 22s? (Love the content, BTW.)
Thanks Tom. I'm not sure what was on Ethan's Ruger, but I have a Leupold Vari-X 3-9 E.F.R. on that Kimber. I love those on 22s because they focus down to 15 yards.
Hi Ron i am a big fan and here's a off topic question what hat is that ,that you are always hearing , i have been trying to find a sabatti big five EDL in 416 rigby and have had no luck any ideas on where i can find one.
For the hat look up Outback Trading Company. For the Sabatti, go to italianfirearmsgroup.com. Good luck.
@@RonSpomerOutdoors thanks for the info i also have a video idea for you ,i was wondering if you could show us all the guns you have and for the reasons you have them in the calibers that you have them in. thanks
Where is the part 1?
Jessie's eye relief is far too large. Her right eye must be at least 6 or 7 in from the scope -she cant be getting a full sight picture from there. It may also mean she is not shouldering the rifle properly - no problem with a 22 rimfire, but not a 308 or 30-06.
I always like to teach proper breathing right from the start.
Putting your thumb over the stock on a high powered rifle will get you a bloody nose. Keep that thumb inline with the stock, it a good practice to do this with low calibers also and build your muscle memory.
A pet peeve when teaching adults to write was waffling. Extra words eg, ‘go ahead and…’ are wasteful. Just fire the rifle; you don’t need to ‘go ahead’ first.
