  • I own a 2019 Tiguan and I’m pleased with it. It does represent a value with the warranty as reviewer stated: I think you nailed all the points exactly; good & bad. I don’t mind it being a little boring but I don’t disagree. The vehicle has grown on me and I’m used to it now. I feel some vehicles try too hard. The CR-V with its awful wood interior trim and gear shift lever that’s up high are god examples. The exterior of the Rav-4 has some weird proportions to me. I bought the R-Line Tiguan for this reason with black wheels and the appearance package included helps the vehicle with some added character. I’ll be watching your other reviews as I just discovered you: thank you!

  • The 2019 Tiguan is a little sluggish if you leave it in the Eco Mode, but when you switch it to Sport.... There is a big difference. I was able to get 35 MPG driving to the Poconos this summer, driving at 80 MPH. The trunk space is huge. If you want to cut off the Stop/Start function, it is to the right of the gearshift. I love my 2019 Tiguan. The 6 year 72,000 mile warranty is the best.

  • I would add that You can change the settings for a more aggressive acceleration through the infotainment system, also, in tip Tronic mode you get to control the shifting which makes it even more aggressive. It’s not a bad car from where I’m standing, I got a test drive and I can tell you, it’s acceleration isn’t a joke. Great video, keep them coming.

  • I just bought this exact model, trim and color! Its perfect for my family of 4 and it gets great mileage between 26/27mpg. Its definitely a nice step up from my 2018 Mazda CX-3. The engine is tuned so it gets off the line quite quickly. I am installing some bright white headlights to replace the ugly dim yellows.

  • I like the way it looks. I bought one new last year.SE model (second level) It was my very first brand new purchase of a car. I chose it mainly because of the great warranty 72 months 72mile. & the 3rd row. Also, I needed space for 5 people. Comfortable backseat space, cuz my son is 6ft 1in tall. & my daughter is 5 ft8 in tall. plus space for a big car seat. It was much wider for their shoulders than the 2016 Tiguan that I looked at. There was enough leg room for them cuz my husband is also 6ft 1in tall. It has a lot of cargo room. I think the 3rd row is good because once my grandson is out of the car seat, he can fit easily in the 3rd row, (his rear facing Britax car seat doesn't fit back there, it's the one for infants to toddler stage, so he can grow into it & it is a tank, great car seat) Also, if my daughter is driving, I can actually fit in the 3rd row with enough leg room. I am 5 ft 6in tall. My mom recently rode in the 3rd row. she fit easily, she is 5 ft 2in tall. Also, you can stretch your legs back there across both of the seats ( well she can, lol) Now the third row seats aren't super comfortable. I find that it has fairly good gas mileage. I don't like that this car is pretty much plastic outside. Because what the heck, people are always hitting it with their doors in parking lots (even when I park far away & it has at least 4 dings in it!!! That is so annoying. I had a 2007 Mercury Milan premium edition & that doesn't have any dings in the doors & I drove that for 8 years. (well maybe one or 2). but that was after many years. So after a year of driving it, I really like it. I've driven long distance from Buffalo, NY to Waterloo, IA and it drove very well. We also drove to Toronto in it & it was great. For a few minutes, I had it up to 105 mph on the I-80 highway; just to see how it drove, It drove beautifully, even though it took a minute to get up to speed, but once it was up to speed it did great. My regular highway driving speed is 65-85 & it is great, very smooth riding. MY kids like the way they can connect their phones to hear music through the media system. and there are a lot of places to recharge your phone. I fit a 65 in Samsung TV in the back with the both sets of seats folded down. That box was huge. And right now I have a whole lot of stuff packed in my car!! So there really is a ton of cargo area. Oh the only thing that I don't like is that I didn't get the heated sideview mirrors that melt the ice. You often have ice in Buffalo on your windows & mirrors. I miss that feature from my Milan, but I couldn't afford the REL line or whatever the top of the line is. I have always wanted a Volkswagen, since I was 22 years old. First I wanted a Volkswagen Fox (Wolfburg edition) back in like '92, then a Volkswagen Cabriolet, then a Jetta, then a Passat, then a Touareg, but I finally got the Tiguan. I AM SO HAPPY. As a woman that is 5'6, the older Tiguan would have been big enough for me, but for a family of five with tall people that I planned to travel in and have done so, I'm truly thrilled with our purchase!! Oh yeah, they also gave good money back for purchasing it, I think like $3000. If I was better at negotiating, maybe I could have gotten a bigger discount. Oh yeah and it's great in the snow. (I have the Giti tires that came with it) I turn off the start stop feature, often. (Because I'm 50 now & that feature bugs me and makes me nervous sometimes, lol, although I'm used to it now. Sorry this is so wordy, But I LOVE MY CAR. It's forest green. (I wanted silver, but they didn't have any at the dealerships and I didn't want to wait). I get a lot of compliments on the color, even though I don't particularly like green. But I actually like the shade of green. I seriously thought about getting the orange color, cuz that is my daughter's favorite color. and this car in Orange looks beautiful. (however I watch too many SHTF videos on YT, so I didn't, this will blend in, if I had to bug out! yes, I'm paranoid sometimes! lol)

  • Thanks for the review. I am a boring driver and appreciate the reviews telling me whether something is "ok" for people like me. Other channels basically call everything crap if it isnt running like a NASCAR car and it leaves me wondering if the car is so bad a novice/noncar person would notice issues.

  • I have 2020 SE and completely agree it needs a big improvement on take off transition , power is relay flaky on take off but once I get over 45-50 mph, I enjoy playing with manual mode or sport one. The overall exterior is just a cookie cuter across the latest models of VW. If I decide to get another one after my lease is over it will be the R line or Atlas.

  • I think it’s important to understand that this is a family car. If you want an SUV from VAG that is more precision tuned you should look at the Q5

  • I love the Moon roof, it's huge it lets in a lot of sunlight which brightens it up a lot, cuz mine is black leatherette which is necessary for my family. (I'd have liked the cream interior) Also, I have in the past, I have had a '95 Buick Regal, my husband had an '85 Cheverolet Camaro, I grew up riding in an '86 Buick Le Sabre, I also had a '95 Ford Probe which was 4 cyl, but 24 valve engine, All of these engines are very powerful and the pick-up in all of them was fantastic. (My Milan premium 6 cyl was good but not great pick up, I actually thought something was wrong with it, until an older man told me that I was just used to more powerful engines & that is why it seemed not as powerful). That is the same thing with this Tiguan. the pick-up isn't great, but once you're up to speed it drives beautifully and I have grown accustomed to it. Frankly with the price of gas in NY state, perhaps it is for the best. But again I love this car. I will probably never buy a brand new car again. (cuz of the financial hit) But I tend to put a lot of miles on a car, so the warranty was key for me! and yes, you can turn off the start stop feature. There is no where to put the key into an ignition, so I don't know why the fob has a key part, cuz it is a push button car.

  • I own a Volkswagen Tiguan 2019 SE...and I love it!!! It has a little problem with burning oil. I have to refill a quart every one thousand miles or so at 85k miles now. But i bought a bumper to bumper extended warranty which will cover the vehicle up to 200k miles...so no sleepiness nights. Thanks

  • oh yeah I have the Britax Boulevard Click-tight Convertible Car SEAT from 2018. great car seats & two tall people can fit in the back seat one with broad shoulders can fit in the back seat of the Tiguan SE with this car seat. it's kind of wide. Just thought I'd add that to my lengthy previous comment.

    @jotamj6752@jotamj67524 жыл бұрын
    • Not a stupid question at all. As far as I can find, it is not included or an option in the SE. VW calls it Park Distance Control. It is included in the SEL premium.

    • Car Mike thank you so much. It seems as it should be a standard feature that comes along side with the rear view camera! Sucks that you have to upgrade to have it.

  • This car needs premium gas for sure. My wife has the 19 se 4motion. I told her use premium and she feels the difference and so do I when i drove it a couple of times. 87 octane this thing is sluggish. She bought with 60 miles on it and she has 6300 miles on it and so far its a great car but too early to tell. Cant beat the 6yr warranty.
