    • You can bet there is far more at stake here for any publisher of the National Inquirer, past, present or future, to tell the truth beyond mere civic duty. He is probably exchanged his testimony for the authorities dropping all investigations into his criminal culpability in these Trump matters. He will also likely benefit from the prime time publicity for his former (used toilet) paper. He is likely a stock owner and will see revenue sharing benefits such as an increase in stock dividends come his way. That could be peanuts though compared to a payoff he could get from the current head of the company, again, related to the publicity generated by his testimony. NI is trash. So is every person who earns a black nickel from its operation, from the owners on down to the delivery drivers.

If he thought he could get away with continuing the lie, he'd keep lying. The "betrayal" is a true betrayal. . . saving HIS butt by selling Trump's butt. Good for justice, but don't make a hero out of a rat for abandoning a sinking ship to save his own life.

    • I remember my grandmother reading every edition of this rag. The moment it was on the grocery store shelves she bought it and would read it and comment and speculate about every boring stupid story in the paper. She actually believed most of the stories, ugh. And she kept them all too. When my grandparents moved across the country from California to Missouri, she insisted on taking all of her "magazines" along. She also read The Star and The Globe and kept them all too. My grandfather was a saint, I swear. While they were packing up 2 large U-Haul trucks with all their things, my cousin was there with my uncle to help, and he conspired with them to take boxes of the papers outside at night after grandma went to sleep and burn them. They managed to get rid of over half saying they were in the truck. When the trucks were being unloaded, she didn't notice the loss for quite some time, but was pretty furious when she figured out they were gone. But they all swore they had been packed, they didn't know how they ended up going missing. Off topic in a sense I guess, but it is just to show that a lot of people read them and believing the stories to be true, so they probably still do today. And this was about 35 years ago. I still don't know how anyone can pay for, read, and believe these rag mags unless it is something they want to believe. Crazy is real.
