"Yes Master" is crazy 😂
😭😭
😊a
So detailed it helped me get everything I needed before I installed it into my own car. One trouble I had though was I had to feed my own wires to the back doors as my car didn’t have any positive terminals
*** FINALLY *** This was the best ambient video explained in full detail! I seen others and it was like a secret they were keeping 😂! Thanks for the information ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much! Best video i found so far! Won t do it to my brand new car, because it would void the warranty. I really wish to now, seeing how easy it really is! Thank you!
The silverholder kit looks pretty high quality. Thanks for the plug.
Very detail!! Power sources and voltage are those many didn't know. Can tell you are a good life partner.
Done mine looks Amazing
Great edit at the start, wow
Def gonna buy this kit. Looks like the best quality and has all the things I wanted bundled into one. Thanks!
Master I respect you
subbed, great intro, putting in work!
Amazing video!
Great video, was looking for a closer look to this kit before buying and you gave me that.
Looks great, nice guide.
That’s amazing wow 😱
Great step by step DIY, de pinning the connector is definitely the way to go
Can’t wait till I install this kit on my car 😆😆
Really appreciate it, will be paying someone to do it for me
thanks just bought mines i’m a cadillac guy but i love the bmw and benz for they’re led interior set up if this lights my car up like that 😂😂
Looks good 🔥, I thought about doing this on my e92 but decided to do a starlights for lighting. Just received my kit in the mail.
My next video is going to be on a starlight headliner, stay tuned!
Cant wait to upgrade my car
Your videos are as good quality as ChrisFix, keep up the great work!
Great upgrade for only $70
c63 ambient install next
Great Video! is there a way to add a switch to turn off the lights when you do not want them on?
Yes! You can just add a switch to the main controller‘s power harnesses. You can also turn them on and off using the app.
Hey man great explanation, one question - do the lights remember their state when turning off and on again? For example, if I choose red color, when I turn off the car and turn it on, does it turn on as red instantly, or do I have to set it again to red and it has some kind of default lighting at startup?
Yes! It remembers what color/mode you previously set it to.
@@TheAutoSurgeon amazing cheers
Changed my cars interior wow. I followed your tutorial step by step. Although one of the lights are going in the opposite direction do you know that might be?
Awesome! Make sure the connector is facing the same way for each strip. So, if you’re doing the doors, the connectors should be facing the front of the car.
8:16 No need to de-pin or drill holes for the doors, make a slit on the backside and then push the led strip through from there.. saves loads of time.
That’s a great idea! I never even thought of that.
Slit it where ? Exactly
Down the crack.
Can you explain it like im 5 , im new to this stuff and im trying to set up a kit i bought without putting holes
I just purchased a set of these and Damm I'm afraid to get started tearing my 23 suburban apart lol
Awesome! Don’t be nervous, only thing you have to be mindful of is removing the panels and drilling into them. Just take extra care when doing so and you’ll be just fine!
damn i gotta drill holes in the car damn i just got it, i ain’t know that and i just bought the kit smh
@@deeray6912same here 😂 im looking into installing these lights on my new car but damn 😮💨
Cleann
Thank you for sharing video, can you cut anywhere stripe ?
Yes! You can cut the strips anywhere.
instead of tapping into the cigarette lighter why not use a FUSE Tap and tap into the fuse for the Cigarette lighter. the Fuse Tap is much cleaner install. Excellent Video and very detailed. This video inspired me to try installing this kit myself.
Great point! However, the fuse for the cigarette lighter is in the trunk of the car. You would have to run a wire from the fuse box to the front dash if you were to use a fuse tap. The cigarette lighter is a fused connection regardless, and I’d actually argue that it’s a cleaner install than running a 6 foot wire from the trunk.
Bummer, your car has the fuse at the rear. My vehicle has it up front under steering wheel. Now it makes sense why you tapped up front. Thanks for the clarification
Hey bro, how are the lights are so far? Whats your review on this kit. Any issues you faced with brightness level or colors?
They’ve been great so far, no issues at all!
will. this work on a Mazda ?
cant wait until i have a car so i can buy this for it
Hello! This looks awesome. I wish to get such kit. Is there any similar in europe? I can't find any. If there isn't, would it be possible to get them from US somehow? Can you help in any way?
You can probably find it on eBay or Aliexpress, search for “Symphony Bead LED Kit.” Most ship from China so they should be able to ship it to Europe! (www.ebay.ca/itm/155508914660?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aVCgQjc1TIC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&var=455748117198&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY )- Something like this.
@@TheAutoSurgeon interesting. Okey, thank you!!!
Is it possible to hook it up to a physical switch for turning on and off? Would like to be able to turn it on and off myself but don't really like app controls for car stuff
Yes! In that case, you would just run a physical switch for the power to the main controller. If the main controller doesn’t have power, the sub controllers don’t turn on either because there is no wireless signal to tell them to ‘turn on.’
Hi great job I wanted to ask a couple of questions. I would like to connect the sub controllers in the doors to the window button lights but the cables are thin. Since the sub controllers depend on the main controller, can they also be connected to any positive in the door? the question is whether they can absorb even when they are turned off
Where do u ground it and did you split any wires for the 12v power?
Shows exactly what I did in the video, not sure what you’re asking.
I have the dash wired up perfect and the drivers side door wired perfect the passenger door is giving me a hard time the only power I can get is the puddle lights and they only turn on when the door is open, the window switch seems to not have enough power, I’ve tested each module Ona battery and all leds work the door just doesn’t give enough power I’m guessing because it doesn’t have as many switches as the driver door? U got any suggestions mate I’m going insane lol
Invest in a multimeter. You can find them extremely cheap, ~$15. Using the multimeter, test each pin/wire for power and it’ll help you determine which one has 12v while the car is running! You should be able to find at least one power source, but in the case that you can’t, you’ll have to manually run a wire with the factory harness from the cabin into the door - this sound scarier than it really is. Just make sure it’s running exactly the same as the factory wiring going into the door, otherwise it may snag or tear.
U the best soo far.can it be installed in Toyota yaris
Yes, of course!
Thanks
at the beginning of work, was the power turned off? If not, did the Airbag or other signals appear?
I had my battery connected to test for power with the door panels off. For my car, the airbag light gets reset when you disconnect the battery for ~10minutes and reconnect. I’m not 100% sure if yours will do the same as some people report they need to use a scanner to get rid of it.
What if I dont have ambient lights? I connect the doors to the window switch? Do you know which wire is positive and which negative?
You would have to test the wires using a multimeter!
How do you connect the rear footwell lights to the subconnector?
All 4 footwell lights are powered using just one connector that connects to the main controller. You run each wire separately, but it’s all attached to the same harness.
Bro from where you take power for steering wheel leds?
I have a full DIY video on my channel for the steering wheel with all of the wiring!
Quick question, how do you turn off the “hello master” audio anytime u turn on the car? Thnx
I’ve got no idea, I don’t think you can. That’s why I didn’t install the speaker that came with the kit, it’s kind of pointless since the microphone doesn’t work that well either.
Hello, it's possible to have the ambiant lighting without the headlight ? In daytime I would like to have the lighting too
Yes! You would have to find a power source in your door that is on while the car is in accessory mode.
@@TheAutoSurgeon Do you know what cable I could find my 12v DC on after contact?
I’m not sure, you will have to check them with a multimeter.
You swapped the front door ones out for 43 inches and used the 29" that came with the kit for rear doors correct? 29" for front doors are too short for same installation as yours no?
Yes, I got 2 additional 43” strips for the front doors. The 29” were way too short. The 29” ones that came in the kit fit the rear doors perfectly.
@@TheAutoSurgeonperfect, thank you, keep doing tasty mods for e60
Hi i Need your help how you putet Kabel in the door I tried but it worked not thnkas
I can try to help you out, but I need some clarification on what you’re asking! What cable are you trying to put through?
I’ve got the bmw e60 front passenger side won’t light up I’m guessing it hasn’t got 12v power in the door switches, driver side and dash is fine just can’t get any of the other 3 doors to light up
I responded to your previous comment
Brother, Is it possible to use the rest of the led strip after cut it? I’m curious about it 😢
You can! However, you’ll have to solder new wires and connectors onto the strip-it’s a very tedious process.
Which kit did you get which should i get just for the doors and dash
I got the 18 in one! You’ll just need the 10 in one for the doors and dash.
This is just great! One video Ive been looking out for months. Is there anyway you can explain getting the power to the subcontroller with the ground attached. Where and how exactly did you connect the power?
It shows exactly what I connected the power to in the video at 6:20!
if you tap the factory ambient light for the secondary modules they wont turn on until you have your headlights on?
Yes, that is correct. If you want them to be on on the morning too (with your headlights off) I think you can tap the power from the window motor.
@@TheAutoSurgeon A youtuber (garage 88) tried using the power window motor but came up with dash warning his car was an e91 because the submodule drained too much power. Does the E60 have this issue?
The windows are inoperable when the car is off, so I’d imagine there isn’t any power going to the window regulator while the car is off. I’m not 100% sure, you would have to test each wire with a multimeter.
@@jonot8547have to make sure that the amp output on the power source is 12v as that is what the kit requires... If it is less than that then that can cause problems
@@treeezy1472I think the LEDS amp draw is super low, you can almost take the power from anywhere
Where have u bought the carbon interior parts?
I made them myself using a carbon fibre skinning technique. I’ll be making a video on the process this upcoming summer!
Do you know if this would drain my battery on my 2006 civic?
It depends completely how you wire the power for these lights! Make sure when you’re wiring, you find a power source, especially for the main controller, that only has power when the key is in the on position. This will ensure that your battery won’t drain overnight!
what app to use for controller to control the lights?
I used “Magic Lantern” on the AppStore
Which one did you purchase? The 2 in 1, the 10 in 1 or the 18 in 1?
It’s the 18 in 1 kit!
Nice. I’m driving a 2019 Lexus es300 hybrid. Two questions: - the es I would assume is a longer car than the one here. I want the 4 doors, my dash, and the 4 foot wells lit up only. What would you recommend I buy? - would the hardwiring on hybrids be any different based on voltage?
We're did you get that steering wheel led Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn 😮😮😮😮😊
I have a full video on my channel regarding the steering wheel!
@TheAutoSurgeon thank you. I just saw it nice
Anyone else having issues using the "mic" feature on the app? When I try to use that feature, my aftermarket subwoofer stops working, but the subwoofer works with all the other features on the app.
Really not sure, it could be the way the sub is wired up. Did you use a LOC connected to the factory subwoofer wires? Maybe your mic doesn’t pickup the low frequency?
I didn’t use a LOC and I don’t think it’s a matter with the mic not being able to pick up low frequency. The subwoofer completely stops working when I choose the mic option on the app.
Where did you get the steering wheel?
Check out the steering wheel video on my channel! The link to the steering wheel is in that video’s description, I got it from Aliexpress.
Wait, can we talk about your gauge cluster? I'm not a BMW expert, but that doesn't look stock? Am I wrong? If it's 3rd party, where can I get that?
I have a full video on my channel regarding the gauge cluster! It’s probably one of my favourite modifications I’ve done to the car.
@@TheAutoSurgeon thanks for the response! I did end up checking out your channel and I saw the video on it. It looks fantastic! I drive a 2019 Mazda 3 hatch. Unfortunately I cannot find any custom gauge clusters that looks nearly as good as yours. Sick build. Keep it up mate.
Yo so I’m having 2 problems. After I turn the car on, the lighting turns on for 5 secs maybe and then turns off. Doesn’t show up on the app as well. Second being the ends of the light strips where it was cut, it usually is bleeds red. How can i fix that or make it less noticeable
Are you running the LED ones or the fibre optic ones? I haven’t noticed any bleeding from the LED ones, so I’m not too sure. You can probably put a piece of black electrical tape on the end to prevent the light from bleeding. In regards to the lights turning on and back off, it sound like it’s an issue with the power. To test if the lights themselves are bad, hook up the power straight to a 9v battery and see if they turn off after 5 seconds. If they work fine, it’s likely the power source, try tapping into a different power source in your car. Hopefully that helps!
@@TheAutoSurgeon using LEDs. Yeah where i cut them its red no matter what color i choose. So that turning off after 5 sec issues went away after i drove the car again later tonight. Not sure what happened lol. But atm only the bleeding issue. Could a black tint tape also work?
Yeah, tint tape should probably work fine! It’s also possible that you just cut the strip at an awkward angle/place. Maybe try cutting off another mm. It’s could be that you cut directly on a specific point of an LED where only the red light shines. But again, I haven’t had this issue so I’m not 100% sure!
@@TheAutoSurgeon okay i figured out the issue, when i have the lights setting wheel near the steering wheel set to automatic, the leds dont work during the day but work at night. And when i set it to any other option on that other than automatic it works totally fine
My app need some sort of reset. Colors dont mach on the wheel color. How I reset app
Try using the “Magic Lantern” app. It’s much better than the one on the QR code in the box. If you’re already using that app, I think they just put an update out for it!
@@TheAutoSurgeon is the one Im using. Magic Lantern for interior SymponyLed. For exterior (LowGlow is MagicLed)... might there be a way to work all lights in one App?
do you have to take the door off?
Just the door panel to run the wiring!
Is this the 10in1 set?
It’s the 18 in 1 kit!
also i ordered mines but it’s missing 2 sub connectors
Reach out to the company! I’m sure they’ll help you out.
What speedometer is that?
I have a full video regarding the gauge cluster on my channel!
do those things get brightness control, thatswould be hella distracting for me. i would also like te add the the cluster and infotainment needs that too. i know they look and function amazing up until nighttime. I am not trying to shit on your video just an opinion on the parts itself. hope no offence taken. i left a like :)
Yes, absolutely! Everything - the gauge cluster, steering wheel, and ambient lighting has brightness control. I haven’t found it distracting at all!
How much cost to install this?😊
Depends on which kit you get! Check the link in the video description to see the different kits available.
Hi 👋, what package did you buy? I entered the site and they have there 2 in 1 and others...
I got the 18 in 1 kit!
What app does this kit use?
There are a few different compatible apps, but the best one I’ve found is called Magic Lantern on the App Store.
how do i do it without taking my car apart
Wouldn’t recommend, the wires would just be hanging around everywhere.
You should just leave it to the professionals at that point lol
How do you stop that tacky RGB test sequence at the beginning. Looks terrible doing that at the beginning which is a shame.
If you go to the settings in the “Magic CarLight” app you can turn off “Start Effect,” that should get rid of it! And then I’d recommend using the “Magic Lantern” app for your color selection after because it has more settings.
@@TheAutoSurgeon Nope, this doesn't work unfortunately
Worked for me, which kit are you using?
@@TheAutoSurgeon Ligheid - they responded to me and said it can't be switched off on the symphony lights, so you need to purchase the RGB version. So I'll replace all mine and return it for refund. Thanks for the help.
do recommend anybody to install them in los Angeles California
No idea, I’m in Canada
E60 535i?
Yes, 2010 535i x drive.
@@TheAutoSurgeon Same here lol. You need to start posting more on KZhead bro. No one does any E60 N54 content at all. Subbed!
What silver holder kit did you get?
The Silver Holder 18 in 1 kit! However, I’ve noticed that the Silver Holders kit is actually just the common Symphony kit. I peeled back the sticker and saw the Symphony label on it 😂. So I would probably recommend just buying the Symphony kit straight from eBay, it’ll probably be cheaper. (www.ebay.ca/itm/155508914660?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aVCgQjc1TIC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&var=455748117198&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY )- Something like this. You can also order the speaker lights though eBay, which aren’t available on the Silver Holder website.
Can I put these lights on my charger
Yes! It’s a universal kit.
Holy sh..t you took out or de assembly the whole car hope you can put it back😂😂😂im sure there some extra nuts and bolt ,them its still holding the car dont need ,garabage 😂😂😂😂
Or you could of gotten a Mercedes Benz those come standard
Only the new models, the older models do not.
U gotta really live electrical work to diy this I rather just pay my 500$ for someone who loves there field
Why not just buy a car that comes with it stock? 😅 looks like a RadioShack special
$150 vs $60k on a new car. What would you choose?
I like it but it’s just drains your battery as well😂😂😂
Not at all! You just have to make sure the power you use is from a source that is only on when the car is on. That way it only pulls power when the alternator is running and doesn’t drain your battery when the car is off. Also, they’re LEDs so they pull very little power.
Which kit should I get I clicked on the link but don’t know which one to purchase..
Depends on what you’re looking for. If you want what I installed in the video, it’s the 18 in 1 kit. If you don’t want the footwell lights or the door handle lights, then you can get the 10 in 1 kit.
Is the led strip have a adhesive?
Yes! It comes with super thin and sticky double sided tape that can be used, if needed.
@@TheAutoSurgeon thank you sir👍
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 disgusting 😂😂😂😂😂😂
To each their own 🤷
Question did you get the 10 in 1 kit or the 18 in 1 kit
I got the 18 in 1 kit! It includes the door handle and storage area lights. But if you don’t want/need those lights, just go with the 10 in 1 kit.
@@TheAutoSurgeon thanks for the quick reply I purchased the 2in one on accident I thought it was the whole set I emailed support hopefully I’ll be able to cancel my order and I’ll purchase the 18 in 1 awesome video too 🔥
