Another level up from what I've seen from other players so far by Djokovic. A strong competition put in by Moutet but soaked up by Djokovic and then he turned the tables. Looked very strong.
Exactly. Excellent take.
Heavy topspin shots always troubled Djokovic on clay (Nadal, Wawrinka, Federer, Thiem, Tsitsipas, Musetti, Ruud). Moutet was playing with unusually heavy topspin and in thebfirst games it worked, but onced Djokovic readjusted his game to counter those shots, Corentin didn't have any other tools to trouble him anymore. Hope everybody keeps playing lile that, so that Nole will be well primed for that gamestyle against harder foes in the FO.
Novak's ball striking is so clean. I never get bored of watching it.

@@njeunguenjionwou2210 why not? You think he was the same Novak in Wimbledon 23 final and AO 2r semifinal cos he lost both? In Wimbledon he played so well and Carlos played better but in AO he didn't play well at all. A loss can be cos of different reasons. You could see he was feeling good today. I have been following Novak for a long time and I can see when he's mentally not there and today he was present. Looked like some big weight had been lifted off his shoulder.

Drop shots on clay are so satisfying
Even though Nole falters at some points and portions of the first set, I had estimated that he was explicitly going to step up the gear as of the second set in order to see the versatility, quality and dynamism of professional Serbian tennis player. Even if he doesn't prefer to take part in an ATP tourney during this period, no matter for Novak. He knows how to carry on his steadiness and mastery within this continuum.

Nole changed something, the balls are flatter and quicker, the contact is crisper sounding. More tension, harder strings/natural gut? Flatter strokes? With Nadal, Sinnner and Alcaraz injured, RG looks promising for him.

Despite all caveats, Corentin serving awfully, not to be in his best level that's why he's lucky loser and so on, that was the best Djoković's performance since AO quarterfinals, slow start but he could play a really decent level mostly in terms of consistency which has been his nightmare, he can't stop missing this season, 20, 30, 40 unforced each match, also passivity and he was very aggressive and consistent today.
