This has to be one of the most iconic Jon Stewart's rants ever.
He went after trump and Alaskan nut job about eating pizza w a knife and fork
It's not an anti-bush political rant and pizza is easy. Sadly CC will leave those moment's in the closet. Mainstream are labradors for the state and big pharma now. And Jon will be obedient. Same reason his Apple product failed. Maybe he can bring Condi Rice and Hillary on TDS to talk about "diplomacy" and spreading "democracy".

Jon Stewart is right about a lot of things. His take on pizza however is absolutely incorrect.
As a “ native” Chicagoan …..Jon is hilarious!!!!!!
I will say Chicago has way better sausage topping on pizzas
I as a European have no idea if they have better sausage but I can say one thing with clarity whatever they do it’s not pizza
Spelled Jon!!!!
As a Californian I've never heard of this serious controversy! :D
@@the_godfather9974 It depends. "Pizza" originated as a flatbread topped with olive oil and herbs - one could say that anything with sauce and cheese is not pizza. The current version originated in the 1800s for some Italian nationalistic celebration where a chef got the idea to add tomato sauce, white cheese and a sprinkling of fresh oregano to make a pizza with the colors of their flag.
😆 The main reason why Jon is so respected is that he's completely fearless and always has his finger on the people's pulse.

As a lifelong Midwesterner who happens to live in the Chicago area now, I can laugh at this. For real, though, here's the thing that people need to understand about Chicago-style deep dish: it's a ONCE IN A WHILE pizza, not a regular go-to (and even around here, when people get pizza, it's usually not deep dish). I honestly think that when people reject deep dish, it's almost always because they approach it with the wrong premise.
I tried it for the first time this last September, and I totally agree with this assessment.
Pizza has cheese on top and cold marinara sauce is just offensive in every way....I actually like white sauce a lot but that or pizza sauce.... marinara and ranch are for cheese sticks not fookin pizza😅
@@kilmcm45 The marinara sauce isn't cold, though. Au contraire, deep dish is served piping hot.
@@kilmcm45 Yeah, I'm going with MrGksarathy on this one: not sure what the "cold" marinara sauce is all about but it's news to me.

Real Chicagoan here, and I'll tell you that Chicago Deep Dish pizza is not the daily choice of any Chicago household, but rather a must-have for visitors and tourists. The preferred choice for most Chicagoans is the tavern style thin crust pizza with a robust tomato sauce, and the cheese layered on top of the other toppings; and cut into squares, of course. I'm not throwing shade though, I'm actually a huge fan of Jon Stewart. Welcome back!!
I wholeheartedly agree. I like deep dish but Chicago's thin crust is by far the best and you definitely won't find it anywhere else.
Exactly. We never ordered that mess, only when out of towners insisted on having authentic Chicago pizza and no amount of reasoning would get them to accept a nice flat pizza, delivered in a bag, and cut into easily managed squares. I'll never forget when my nephews ordered deep dish with broccoli in it. What the actual fudge?!
So a pie. What you described is a meat pie not a pizza (Love you Chicago and NYC all we have claim on in California is tacos).

At no point did John ever say that deep dish pizza shouldn't exist; he only said that he would bludgeon people with a cast iron skillet if they tried to serve it to him. Personally, I'm not into thin, floppy pizza that you have to fold like a taco in order to eat, but I do not begrudge New York their pizza traditions. It's identical to the pineapple on pizza debate.
