This song is in Sindh language and contains an ancient story. The story is based on a folktale from Sindh, Pakistan, called "Umar Marvi." It revolves around a village girl named Marvi, belonging to the Phanwar tribe, who resists the advances of a powerful king named Umar and the allure of living in the palace as his queen. Instead, she chooses to remain in her simple rural environment, staying true to her village. King Umar was deeply in love with Marvi due to her exceptional beauty. However, he forcefully took her and desired to marry her. He imprisoned her in his castle called Umerkot in Sindh. Marvi, being a woman of great integrity and honor, refused the king's offer, even though he promised to grant her every desire. She steadfastly denied everything and even went on a hunger strike while locked up. She declared that she would rather die than be disloyal. Ultimately, the king had to give in to her unwavering loyalty. He released her and respectfully sent her back to her village, where she was hailed as a heroine. This remarkable story is depicted in the song "Aayi Aayi," where Marvi finally enjoy a simple meal at home. The peacock in the song symbolizes this act, while the dolphins represent the majestic Indus River (Sindh).
