I feel like Isekai can be hit and miss most of the time, but when it works it can tell some great stories! My very first Isekai was Inuyasha, so many tears were shed by the end! :'D
JoJo Talks Too Much Oh shit wassup JOJO
+Rodney Paul Hola! ^_^
I guess some never miss, huh?
True, theres alot of un interesting isakai out there. Only ones I liked were inuyasha and overlord. I'm still trying to watch reincarnated as a slime, and interested in re zero and fate
@@minigthepro2963 "you got a boyfriend I bet he never kiss ya"
If Digimon counts, that was probably my first Isekai.
it counts
My first isekai was Digimon. I bet a lot of people's first isekai was digimon but they just didn't consider it part of the genre because it's not standard. at the start there are seven protagonists from the normal world, and the setting is more sci-fi than fantasy, but it still suits the criteria of being dragged into a different world and fulfilling some epic destiny. But, you know, it would be really great if crunchy roll actually listed this genre, and tagged series of this genre. that said, you could say that about a lot of genres and tags on that website.
Facts
My first anime and isekai was inuyasha then digimon and a few others.
So, Digimon Adventure is isekai... never thought of it that way before
SPACE JAM IS THE BEST ISEKAI EVER!
😂
I usually don't find a favorite anime in this type, but I really loved Sword Art Online and No Game No Life!
Both of these I really enjoyed as well.
Alyssa Levenberg it's a highly used genre and there's equal parts trash and gems out there. One recommendation that was featured in the vid that I also recommend is Inuyasha. It's an oldie, but it's a must-watch for any otaku. The fanbase is still huge today. :)
Felipe Revuelta I may watch Inuyasha in the future. Right now, I am currently watching Assassination Classroom and then I'm going on to Haikyuu. It's on my list though!
I highly recommend Dream drive light novel. You'll love it.
+Jake Vanschoick Characters may be hollow but the fantasy world is extremely good. Some claim the movie avatar is shit or nothing great but people who appreciate wellmade fantasy worlds love it
Sword Art Online was my first isekai. It was also my first anime.
Trey same
Pokemon was my first
Cells at work for me. Also my second anime
SAO was my second
Sailor Moon was mine.
you didnt mention travelling through a toilet bowl (god save the king)
What is that british?
My first isekai was Super Dimension Century Orguss. It's one of the few isekai that actually doesn't take place in a high-fantasy setting. Instead, it takes place in an alternate version of Earth that's created when a dimensional weapon malfunctions and causes multiple versions of Earth to combine into one.
InuYasha is and has always been my favorite anime use to watch it on AdultSwim. ❤️ I didn't know that a different world was a genre now I have to go research it more.
Oooh! 😲 I didn't think this was a genre... haha but yeah, when I heard the description Fushigi Yuugi immediately came into mind lol. Thanks! Love learning new stuff from Anime Academy! Keep it up! ❤😘
Loved Drifters! Can't wait for the next season!
Fushigi Yuugi, InuYasha and Escaflowne
No Game No Life was an awesome one
inuyasha was my first major Manga anime series I was 9 when I started watching it but I got in a lot of trouble with my family members stupid religious friends on it then over the years I haven't had a favorite anime till a friend of mine told me that I was deeply into detective conan and that became my favorite anime to this day
nice job victoria! keep it up ^^
Escaflowne is my favorite isekai and one of my all time favorite series!
I think my first was Kyou Kara Maou, which is also my favorite "How?" because what is more iconic than being sucked into a different world, via a toilet.
could someone tell me the anime at 1:01 the drawing style looks amazing!
My first Isekai was Zero no Tsukaima and it hooked me on the genre (just last year when I started watching anime... and I'm old (60)).
No Game No Life was my favorite Isekai but Re:Zero probably has that title now
My first was Escaflowne still love it and own the dvd collection from the early 2000's
Same. Loooved it!! The soundtrack was epic too
Juuni Kokki / Twelve Kingdoms is an isekai. And also my favorite anime of all time :D
I love isekai as it lets you explore the other world together with the mc.
My favorite Isekai series I recommend you are Rayearth, Escaflowne, Strange Dawn, The Twelve Kingdoms and El Hazard (the first OVA series)
Konosuba season 2 needs to come out
Not long, only about two weeks of waiting and it´s finally here.
NinjaThingy January 11th
Soon™
NinjaThingy coming soon
Its out lol
The best one is still Now and Then, Here and There.
trying it now
.hack was my first isekai and favorite anime to date
My first ISEKAI was Magic Knights Rayearth... yeah, a bit old but I loved it!
Now and Then, Here and There is an isekai show every one needs to watch
Watching Re: Zero right now
My first and probably favorite ISEKAI is Blue Gender. It had everything from drama, action, mechs, monsters, sex, and nudity. Though it might not classify as a ISEKAI due to the fact its not a fantasy fairy tail. He is more set in a different time, but its essentially the same thing. It is a completely different world for him.
First Isekai I watched was probably Sword Art Online. I like the reverse Isekai in Devil Is A Part Timer best though, fantasy villains journeying to Japan to unwittingly cook french fries and flip burgers.
Didnt know about isekai but re-zero and drifters were/are dope!!
Easily my favorite genre
I’ve watched a bit of anime over the years but I just started ‘I got a skill in another world and became unrivalled in the real world, Too’ and I believe this will be my first Isekai any other recommendations out there for good Isekai?
I'm surprised theyd idn't mention it but, Digimon was my first isekai. It literally follows most of the checkboxes but the romance one
Technically, my first isekai would be Digimon. I mean, summoned to a different reality by prophecy suits it very well..
Never actually knew the name of the genre! neat! My favorite Isekai I think will always be Kyoh Kara Maou. Light shounen-ai where the main character gets SWIRLIED into fantasyworld.
Digimon was my first Isekai I think, that or magical knight rayearth
digimon was my first isekai and im proud of it
Zero no Tsukaima! OLD AND GOLD.
I like how she got right to the point
These are great. Any chance CR will allow us to search/filter by these categories?
my first isekai anime was InuYasha followed by Visions of Escaflowne and Digimon Adventure (yeah I know, I'm old school) then came Marchen Awakens Romance (or MÄR for short) and Digimon Adventure Zero Two then Bleach (could that qualify as isekai? I mean the whole Soul Society thing) then a bunch of other anime that falls into the genre and a bunch that don't that I can't think of right now.
El Hazard is an old one but a good one.
*looks back at 2016* yeah I think I would stay in the new world
Glitter Force was my first anime
Cool sweater
Isekai sounds interesting and my first introduction was Inuyasha
Kyou Kara Maou was my first.
by your description, mainly the magic, then this doesn't count. however id like to say that my first isekai was jiu-oh-se (pretty sure i spelled it right). the reason i say it may not count was that it involves si-fi and no teleportation, but rather actually being transported via ship to an unknown planet very different from the previous place of refuge. its great and matches a lot of the description of isekai.
That moment when Scott Bakula from Quantum Leap is an isekai protagonist
does Digimon count? cuz that would be my first lol. if not, it would of been either Escaflowne or Monster Rancher.
Where can i found that fabric?! i wants!
Here's a list for those interested: Ima, soko ni iru boku*; Re:Zero; Ixion saga DT*; KonoSuba; Arata Kangatari; DogDays; Grimgar; Zero no Tsukaima; * Infinitely superior to the respective next mention
I guess thst makes Hello from the Magic Tavern one
I don't remember my first one but I love it if I think about it bleach is one too huh overlord drifters there are alot of good anime old and new
No Game No Life.
gabuks1 BEST ANIME EVER
Rodney Paul No season 2 :(
gabuks1 we getting a movie thou
No Season 2 ever? I hope that's not the case
well the studio broke down so i dont think No Game No Life will ever get a next season
Log Horizon would have be my favourite Isekai and if I were to pick any Isekai show to be trasnported into, it would have to be that.
My first isekai was monster rancher also and I’m quite embarrassed to admit if I was summoned to another world one where magic exists, I wouldn’t even try to get home especially if I got a cheat I’d just treat it like a game and gleefully get lost in it.
El Hazard was my first isekai. It still rules.
Inuyasha was my first Isekai in 2003 :)
My favorite Isekai anime is The Familiar of Zero. Everyone loves Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière!
Inuyasha was my first one and my favorite one too. Although Kagome had it easy, since she could return home LOL
Ascendance of a Bookworm season 1 Really really messed me up, at lasts episodes i'd cry from sadness and the next episode cry from happines, than cry from sadness the very next one ;-; Season 2 is fine, still waiting for 3rd ^-^
Magic Knight Rayearth, of course. ;) Escaflowne was pretty darn good, but MRK had Lantis. Escaflowne did have Folken though...
Otter Puff Magic Knight Rayearth was awesome and did it much better than many that came later.
And it was kind of cheeky with it - particularly in the first season when they commented on how it was all like a RPG, and the rules that should apply. And then it got twisted around. So good.
Otter Puff Not to mention that the outfit change from S1 to S2 it's a clear reference to class change or class upgrade within a RPG (like in early FF games)
My first was Inuyasha. I use to get up with my mother to watch it at 4 in the morning 😂
Are you guys going to do School Idols?
sword at online was my first isekai
If you don't count Wizard of OZ, Vision of Escaflowne is my first, and favourite.
Inuyasha is an isekai, so that would be my first. I'm currently watching Re:Zero and it's my favorite... It really deserves the hype
FUSHIGI YUGI!!!
I guess I am old school. I like Magic Knight Rayearth
Sao was my first use Kai and first anime
Cushing Yuuki... also my first anime
My first Isekai was Inuyasha, most recent was Re:Zero, both very good imo
Bleach was probably my first. Also the series that really truly got into anime more seriously.
sailorbee where did u get that shirt??
Whether or not I'd stay depends on the world/scenario. If it's like Konosuba where I'm starting from the ground up with no given talents, it'd have to really think about it. If the world has death everywhere, like a Berserk world, then nah fam I'm out lol. If I have blue hair and wake up in a mansion with cute girls, then consider the quest failed because I'm never leaving lol.
Oh god she is so beautiful 😍
I'm working on a series that's front the point of view of a person in a fantasy world when a Japanese kid comes in and starts beating up shit.
I fell in love with anime with Inuyasha
Kiba is an underrated isekai anime
No Game No Life! I know there's a movie coming, but I really hope there's a season 2 coming as well or else I'll be really sad
I cant help but notice they did not mention the type that happens via reincarnation usually from the cause of a bus or truck hitting and killing the mc.
Jobless Reincarnation is surprisingly good and funny as hell.
what about Bakoun tho?
Mine was Sword Art Online, and my favorite was familia of zero. I also like isekai no smartphone
My first one was shield hero
I'd say Outbreak Company is an Isekai. And there's definitely no involvement of 'fate' there
Yu yu hakasho and inyuyasha would be my first.
Inuyasha was my first
My first isekai was Girls Bravo.
Wait.... so Garzey's Wing is an isekai anime? Best. Genre. Ever.
Are you going to put season 3 of jonjur romantica or is it not real
This is a cool and all, but what about post-fukushima sekai-kei?
I heard that you even have some professional research on the matter that you could work with Crunchyroll on. Perhaps they could collaborate?
We NEED that episode featuring Pause and Select. I nominate Joe for Rector of this University.
You mean "Coppelion"? Very weak anime, no even radiometer on run:\
Guys, if you have any ideas for a new Isekai story, please read or post here : myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1683684 Some of your ideas might be useful for any aspiring Web Novel Authors among any of you with confidence in your writing skills, to incorporate into your own Isekai story. If you are serious in making your own Isekai Light Novel with high chances of getting an Anime Adaptation, then also make sure that you can get or hire someone who can draw and illustrate the characters starring in your LN story.
No Game No life for the win!!
I would totally stay in the isekai. Our World is way too complicated. And in out society we live in a system we cant escape.
