  • I hurt my back yesterday and I’ve been in pain since. I tried ibuprofen, a heating pad and some bio freeze and nothing really helped. I used to practice yoga about 3 years ago but I moved somewhere that is hard to find a good class. I thought I would try to find a yoga video for back pain and try it today. I came across you and did two of your videos. The pain is almost all gone now. 🙌🏻. I’m glad I found you here. I can’t wait to do other videos of yours. 💜

Now when Im feeling it coming back (why Im here today) I use a YWA back video or use what I know now to Find What Feels Good!!

  • Starting a new school year while we're still in the midst of a pandemic has proved to be a challenge from every aspect. I work as a custodian in the same building I attended elementary school (I work nights), and part of my job this year involves having to spray disinfectant on every surface in each classroom I clean, then bend over each and every student desk to wipe everything down. Thank you in advance, Adriene for helping me get through this school year.

  • I have struggled with back pain for almost a year. I have tried physical therapy, massages, and other types of pain relief. They have all helped just a tiny bit. I was told by a doctor I was just going to have to manage my pain. That was unacceptable to me. After reading in a couple of different places that yoga helps with back pain I started doing this video. I did it four times a week for six weeks and my back pain is completely gone! It has changed my life! A lot of the poses that I couldn't do the first time I did the video, I can do them all now! I am so thankful to you, Adriene! I am going to start on your other videos now.

  • Hi Adriene! I recently found my way to your channel. I haven't done much yoga before, so this is all foreign to me. But I'm just coming out of a very chaotic environment. I just stopped teaching in a third grade classroom; the dynamics that were going on were causing me to continue to get sick. It felt like a war zone in there; the amount of behaviors that were going on in the classroom made it very difficult to teach at all. I had students coming up to me saying they didn't feel safe; but I was doing all that I could: calling parents, writing kids up, and coming out with various rewards systems for positive behavior both individually and classwide. But still the behaviors continued on without any resolve. It kept intensifying. It got to the point where every day I went in I was experiencing health effects. I made the difficult decision to step away from the classroom to focus on my health. All of that to say, I have been working on restoring trust with my body. I was so shut off to how stressed I was that it took my body stiff-arrming me (through nausea and intense sickness) to make me stop. I feel like I am trying to come out of an addiction to overstimulation and trauma. I am wanting to put my health first. I recently got both a fitness trainer and a nutritionist. In addition to those things, I want to get in touch with my breathing and movement exercises that help me focus on what is actually going on inside of me. "Is there pain present? Does that stretch feel good? Do I need to do the less intense version? Do I need to skip that movement altogether?" These are questions that you or anyone else can't answer for me. Only I can. I have to look inward and ask myself what is going on and then make the appropriate adjustments necessary. Lastly, there are a lot of different yoga coaches out there and a plethora of yoga videos and I have been looking at many of them. However, I am drawn to your videos for a few reasons: (1) the presence that you carry. There is this deep sense of peace and safety that emanates from you. From the tone of your voice to the different ways to modify the movements, I felt like I (a yoga novice) can fully trust your instruction. (2) Your explicit instruction to get in touch with what is going on inside of our bodies. To stop if it hurts, to do a more advanced move if we can't feel the stretch. I feel like the explicit instruction you give is helping me to restore the trust with my body: that I feel and "hear" what it is communicating and I will make the appropriate modifications that I need to. (3) the overall peace that I experience. Again, this may go back to the presence thing. But I've watched videos where it is all about the moves or the breathing and to me it feels forced. But when I watch your videos I feel like I can fully relax and focus on the breathing and the movements. I realize this was a long comment, but I wanted to say that I'm glad to be a part of this huge community (ALMOST 11 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS!!!) and I look forward to explore the many other videos that you have put out. Thanks for who you are and what you do, Adriene!

  • THANK YOU, Adrienne, for giving me permission to play with the breath. As a lifelong performer, I've had a hard time letting go of measured breathing. The idea of playing with the breath blew my mind. It brought a playfulness to the moment of my practice and also gave me permission to count the tempo or adjust my breath as needed without getting down on myself for not being able to 'let go'! Well said!

  • I'm doing these back pain videos for a while now and it does help. I had my back broken 3 years ago and from time to time I'm having difficulties getting up from the bed because of all that pain. After doing these "excercises" for couple of weeks I allways feel like a new person. But for everyone who has serious back problem I don't recommend those "rock your body" getting up or down, cus it brings a lot of stress to the spine. Rather than that, allways get to left on right side of your body and get up with a help of your hands pushing your back up.

After finishing my book I woke up this morning feeling like a bus ran me over. I watched this video a million times before but this morning I did it with intention. I focused on my breathing more than ever before, so much so that I attempted meditation after my yoga for the first time in years. Not only was ALL of my back pain relieved but I've never felt so at peace before. I literally was having an outer body experience. Thank you Adriene!!

  • Adriene, thank you so much for this fantastic video! It relieved my back pain. Being tall, obese, and having COVID-19 with weakened muscles gave me awful lower back pain that made it hard to get up out of bed in the mornings. I was having all these painful muscle spasms and cramps in my lower back and legs. I tried everything I could think of- hot bath with epsom salt, went to get a few massages, Advil, walking... all of which sort of helped a little, but the pain came right back. The last night I recalled this video, did it, and instantly there was a big difference in reduced pain, not just right after doing the program but also the next morning! I could get up out of bed with more ease! Thank you!!!!

I need the regularity of my practice to quiet the stress that all of this induces. Thank you Adriene for doing this so long ago so that we could have this relief today in 2020. xo

  • Hello Adriene, I just wanted to thank you for saving my life. 4 days ago I was on a ramp riding my motorcycle when I stalled, and skidded to a wall dropping my bike. Without thinking I lifted it up, which threw my back out. In immense pain I contacted my husband who called 911. I was told it was probably nothing serious😣and I would have to wait to see if it worsens. I know for a fact since I’m feeling better on the 4th day was because I had been doing one of your 30day programs. I wasn’t as stiff as usual, and that’s what had saved me from irrefutable injury. Thank you my lovely yoga instructor ❤️❤️❤️

  • It's been a while since I last did yoga, and thus I've fallen out of communication with my body. After some intense gardening yesterday, I woke up with a sore back and so thought I'd do this session, only to learn that a lot of that back pain comes from the fact that my hips are really tight and off-kilter! It's upsetting knowing that you've let your body fall out of alignment, but there's also something really rewarding to being able to 'diagnose' something, and create an enjoyable action plan to address it! I look forward to looking back at today in a couple of weeks time :)

  • Thank you for reminding me that even as an intermediate Yogi I should still hang in there throughout this entire slower paced session. Not only is it amazingly stabilizing to hold and breathe longer-which strengthens the core and helps to relieve low back pain, but you get a really nice practice in patience... which I wasn't born with and most definitely need more of lol Namaste 🙏💜
