  • People in a few years won’t understand how much Steph changed. Because every team and PG copies him now. Nobody was taking deep 3’s, fast break 3’s. Championship teams HAD to have a dominate big man. “Jump shooting teams don’t win championships”. Steph changed everything

    @kevinandrewsphoto@kevinandrewsphotoАй бұрын
    • Completely disagree on the feeling that teams HAD to have a dominate big man at this time. This was the era of the swingman, not the big man. You’re thinking more of the 2000s. At this point in time, the “championship” players were all 2-3s and the good men were just defensive anchors. The top tier big men today have more of an impact on their teams then the good big men had back then.

      @josephrafferty6763@josephrafferty6763Ай бұрын
    • Just a correction..... It's 'dominant', not 'dominate'. Dominant is an adjective, while dominate is a verb. I see this mistake way too much on the internet. Also, the three point revolution predates Steph. He accelerated it for sure, but the Rockets in the 90s, the 7SOL Suns, the 2009 Magic and the Morey Rockets were already showing the world the direction basketball was heading towards.

  • It’s not even that he shoots it from so far out. Today people do that more commonly. But he does it moving forward off the dribble. He’s just insane

    @Akadehmix@AkadehmixАй бұрын
    • It's also the angle he shoots it from. Curry hit and made a lot of shots from the logo--as do Lillard and some others--but those deep logo shots are almost always straight on. Even given the distance, lots of players shoot buzzer beaters or practice/goof around with deep shots from the top of the key. NOBODY shoots from out there. Not in games, not in practice. From straight on the line of sight is cleaner, you have the backboard to work with, and your body motion is taking you straight at the hoop. The "elbow" 3's are always the lowest percentage makes (compared to the top of key or corner shots). Curry is dribbling down the court with his momentum leading outside the key, he's not square with the backboard, and he can't easily use the glass if it goes a little long long, And he does THAT. Insane.

  • This was awesome. And I agree. This game is really when 3pt shooting changed in the NBA. No one was constantly pulling up for 3’s 5ft behind the 3pt line till this game. I also want to point out how great a coaching staff the warriors had. That’s really important when games are this tight and both sides are full of talent. Calling the right play, getting the right personal on the floor is so important and I don’t think the warriors at that time get enough credit for their coaching staff.
