10000 Mealworms VS Fish Head, Venus Flytrap, Corn, Kinder Surprise Egg

2021 ж. 12 Мау.
1 224 083 Рет қаралды

This time I fed my mealworms some Lollo Rosso lettuce, fish heads, venus flytrap plant, corn on the cob, Kinder Surprise Egg.
Strangely the worms finished the fish heads very quickly and surprisingly they couldn't handle the kinder surprise egg. They don't like chocolate :)
Some info about mealworms:
Mealworms are the larval form of the mealworm beetle, Tenebrio molitor, a species of darkling beetle. Like all holometabolic insects, they go through four life stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Larvae typically measure about 2.5 cm or more, whereas adults are generally between 1.25 and 1.8 cm in length.
Burrowing and eating are a top priority when it comes to being a mealworm, and they will eat just about anything. They will eat grains, vegetables, any organic material, fresh or decaying. This plays a huge role in the ecosystem. Mealworms aid in the decomposition of any spoiled organic material.

Mealworm fun fact:
Mealworms are not worms. They do look wormish, but they are insects. :)

But the macro footage helps me separate them from that fear and remember that they're juss lil guys. If you look closely, you can see that some of them got trapped in the Venus flytrap's trap leaves, but they actually escaped! What an intense and epic battle of an army of 10,000 mealworms against a monstrous carnivorous plant. I am deeply impressed.
