Artist Claire Kelly's work examines the connections we have with animals and their larger relationship to our world and environment. The result is a series of fantastic microcosms that bring a consciousness to their decorative status. Her sculptures tell a story about the fragility and conservation of these small worlds as well as describing their role in a grander scheme.
In this video Claire demonstrates her unique patterns of glass murini and cane, marrying age old Venetian techniques with her own innovative coloring techniques. The sculpture created will later serve as the pedestal to display a glass animal figure.
Glass sculpting has always fascinated me. So beautiful!
Me too. I’d love to redo another apprenticeship if I could find the opportunity to learn in Sydney
Congratulations!!! You hit the big time. CNN used you beautiful video to brighten our day. We could watch this all day. Exquisite!!
Fuck CNN and Fuck Beijing Biden
Like the music. Mesmerizing to see the artist at work!
Brilliant handwork 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What a magnificent work of art!!!!!
All good glass blowers listen to 70s and 80s rock. I love it
Yes they do! I visited the Murano glass factory in Italy back in 2001 and that's exactly what they listed to!!
Lol today I listened to allman bros and marshal tucker band
Thats a masterpiece. Many more...
pretty! Fantastic! You are brilliant! congratulations! 🏅🏆👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love how you can tell this took a long time by how many music changes there are when the footage cuts
Just breathtaking 🤗💝
That's a lot of work!
Thank you so much I loved your channel. Amazing
hummy gummy thanks! I appreciate the support: )
@@DerekKleinVideos very welcome God bless you.
Amazingly stunning 💛❤️
I would love doing this, but I burn my hand getting cookies out the oven....
Love the process. Skills
This is beautiful to watch! In TN at Dollywood, there is a glassblowing venue that lets you watch it in real time. They don't do combinations of pieces, but the process takes a while and is very warm next to the viewing area. I don't recall Dollywood people wearing shorts but full-blown blacksmith gear, but this place could be enclosed and extremely hot. Beautiful to watch though.
id love to have some of the pieces that were cut off. maybe as solid and/or hollow spheres !!!
Wow spectacular!
u really do a great job!!
Can’t stop playing your clips 🙏
Thanks : ) Ill keep them coming!
Not to be too critical, but I've seen so many videos of the process of making beautiful glass artwork like this, but they all end WITHOUT SHOWING the finished product, I mean it's kind of a letdown, kwim ;?)
Looks like a big peanut! Wow! 🥜
Nice video!
Glass arts!!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊 ^ ^
Brilliant. Also have a look at corning glass
I wish I had the patience the time and the money to do this this is a cool hobby

MUCHAS FELICIDADES,ERES MARAVILLOSA.ERNEST COHEN
CNN brought me here, this was fascinating to watch.
Me too lol 😆. Really relaxing this morning 🌄 😌
What a way to start my day. Thanks
Same! I love watching glass blowing!
Me, as well. Amazing!
Ditto. What remarkable work.
Seems like a lot of effort for a giant glass peanut. 😜 It is gorgeous, though!! ^-^
It is so amazing
,que trabajo más lindo, 🙋😌😌😌😁
so nice
masterful
Brave womens and nice work
It's beautiful but I don't understand the finished product. What is it?
It’s a sculpture to be finished later
Cool glass peanut
Ricordate che arriva tutto da murano. Ringraziate la scuola muranese. Comunque bravissima 👏👏👏👏👏
THUMBS DOWN for cutting it off before anyone could figure out what the F it was or seeing the finished product.
It's ART! that was the finished product. It has to be quickly put into the annealing oven for a controlled cool down or it will break.
@@raymondrains then they should've shown that
Go to her website and look at her finished work. It makes more sense clairekellyglass.com/
It’s a glass sculpture. The finished piece wasn’t completed until months later. While that’s frustrating in real time you can see my work at clairekellyglass.com for an overview of my work. ☺️🙏🏾
Was this filmed at Tacoma's amazing Museum of Glass??
Looks like MOG in Tacoma in Washington state. I worked there when it was opened. The hot shop is a great place to eat lunch and watch...
Feeber Izer you are correct
A glass peanut.
I'm fascinated that this apparently took place inside a theater with an audience. Who knew that was possible? Now I would like to know where this was, because it's going on my "after Covid" list of things to do. Anyone who know, please let me know! Thanks!
It looks like Wheaton Village in Millville, New Jersey. They also have a glass museum with one of the largest collections of historical and artistic glass in the US. The entire place is dedicated to the art of glass. And if you can't get to New Jersey, many glass art studios offer some form of viewing for visitors so there is probably one near you. I definitely recommend it, the process of glass making is fascinating to watch.
@@danielmazin6153 Thanks for the info! :)
What are those paddles being used at 4:37 to shape the glass?
Murrine & Canne!
Yes
So, did you drop and destroy it before it was completed? What was it? I feel like I wasted my time watching all of this since a finished product was not shown.
No. It's basically complete when it is broken off of the pipe, the only thing left is cold working....where they make it stand up strait like a sculpture should : )
@@DerekKleinVideos a few people are like "i couldn't see it even though there was multiple hours of footage of it spinning"
Did you make those glasses too?
What is it? A glass peanut?
Okay what is it and what do you do with it?
It’s a glass sculpture
I wanna know how long this took in real time.
C Williams about 1.5 hours
the blowing portion took about 3 hours

👍👍👍👍👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
But what was it??
It's a big pair of balls which the art creator don't have, after all she's a man trap in woman's body. That's as much as I could interpret, with my 100% focus and knowledge. If I were wrong, then that should be a good piece of Dicknanigan art.
a sculpture : )
How are people allowed to even wear shorts when doing this? If something breaks or fall the wrong way your leg could get severely burned.
How to order
Saving the world 1 ant at a time.
what is your name
Her name is Claire Kelly , mine is Derek klein
Watching her wrangle the glass into the furnace in the beginning made me nervous.
Started with great promise, ended with pretentious Dicknanigans.
The art creator is lacking a pair of balls, so maybe that's why she made a pair.

Bana vazo hediye edermisiniz rica ediyorum 😍

Красивая фигня получилась. А что это?
Her face muscles say to me that she wasn't satisfied.
She is : ) Just concentrating
I was just examining the results of our effort. It was moving in a way I didn’t anticipate. So it goes with experiments, we learn from them.
I was hoping that b a pipe and a big ass bowl to put some weed in but nvm
ЭТО ФЕЙК, СТЕКЛО НЕ ПОДДАЕТСЯ К ТАКОЙ ОБРАБОТКИ.
Seriously? No shot of the finished piece at the end? All that build up leading to wondering about the end result. What a disappointing video.
Tous les goûts sont dans la nature. Personnellement je trouve ça moche même si la technique me fait aimer.
Pretty much went downhill after she put the bend in it for me, but then who cares haha
Great Video! (Jesimiel Millar Fernåndez) 1M1K32
