Hindus do not worship idols but worship the Supreme with attributes through an image. The Supreme without attributes is undefined and can not be worshipped. IDOL WORSHIP IS NEITHER MANDATORY NOR PROHIBITED IN HINDUSIM. This is present in the Isha Upanishad or the Shukla Yajur Veda chapter forty.
Bismillah Why to associate partner with God is one and alone without a Second (Ekm Evidityam) and who has no pratima (Nachasya Pratima Asti) ... Yes there are some attributes of God (i.e, names) like The Creator (Brahma-Al Khalik) , The Most Merciful , The Ever Forgivving , The Sustainer( Vishnu- Al Qayyum) The Destroyer (Shiva- Al Mumit) .... But it doesn't mean that we create idols on the basis of these attributes and worship instead of worshipping his alone... Isn't that be illogical...
ENTERTAINING VIDEOS I respect all faiths and culturals that bring positivity but dislike ignorance as that is a bad karma / sin itself. We are never going to know everything in this world, all of faiths the end goal is the same, we just have different ways we worship. ( There is a whole science of idol-making where a certain form is created with a particular material and energized in a certain way. Different idols are made in different ways where they relocate or rearrange the chakras in certain places to make them into completely different possibilities. The reason why we Muslims pray towards the direction of Mecca, is to create a Unity. We do not worship Mecca or the Kaabah, we worship only Allah. And Allah is NOT inside His own creation, Allah is in the highest level of Heaven. The direction we pray to, is to praise and worship Allah all together, Millions of Muslims at the same time and same direction.

Black Pagan Like I said, we only face the direction of Qibla to create a Unity, Qibla is the same direction where Mecca is, in the centre of Earth. When we go for prayer, we only intend to pray in the direction of the Qibla, which coincidentally is the centre of the Earth and that is exactly where Mecca is. Allah does no live on Earth or in our vast universe, because these are the creation of Allah. Allah is in the highest level of Heaven, we do not worship any type of statue, or building or idol, we only declare to pray towards the Qibla to create a unity. Idol= is simple Object of something (person, god, stone , watch , ring , calendar , laptop , dargah.....etc....) worship = the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity Now, According to this, EXAMPLE 1 your wedding ring is idol .Looking at that ring sometime you kiss that ring and remember your love which is equal to worship. So ultimately you are doing idol worship. EXAMPLE 2 kaaba is idol , you show your feeling or express or reverence and adoration for a deity. So you are doing idol worship. EXAMPLE 3: you keep your mother's picture or father picture in your pocket. Sometime you miss them and you kiss and pray "mom/dad please come fast , i am in trouble" you are worshiping you mom/dad. If you don't believe that, then why one get angry if someone destroy that picture or spit on that picture. EXAMPLE 4: Quran is book. Book is object of original book of Quran. That is also idols. and you show you love toward book. you are doing idol worship. If you are not doing this things then you are not doing idol worship. NO WHERE IT SAYS IN SCRIPTURE TO WORSHIP IDOL BUT The Bhagavad Gita was spoken 5000 years ago last and this was not the first time it was spoken. It was spoken to Vivasan (the sun god who is in charge of the sun). Krishna tells Arjuna that the Bhagavad Gita is not new. He tells Arjuna that He originally spoke the Gita to the Sun god, Vivasvan, at the beginning of the creation, and that the knowledge was handed down through the saintly kings from generation to generation, but now that knowledge had become lost, so therefore Krishna again spoke that same original knowledge to Arjuna: sri-bhagavan uvaca imam vivasvate yogam proktavan aham avyayam vivasvan manave praha manur iksvakave 'bravit "The Blessed Lord said: I instructed this imperishable science of yoga to the sun-god, Vivasvān, and Vivasvān instructed it to Manu, the father of mankind, and Manu in turn instructed it to Ikṣvāku." (chapter 4 text 1). ALSO "The Deity form of the Lord is said to appear in eight varieties-stone, wood, metal, earth, paint, sand, the mind or jewels." (Srimad Bhagavatam----11:27:12----purport). DR ZAKIR NAIK ALWAYS USES THE LINE (na tasya pratimasti) which is definetely true by meaning of "“There is no image of Him”. this simply means that krishna is confound to an image he can be in an image but not confound or limited to it. Zakir Naik quotes Yajur veda (32.3) to prove that God doesn’t have a form. Whether God has a form or not according to Vedic scriptures is a secondary point. It’s more important to first question the authenticity of the references used by Dr Zakir Naik. For instance let’s take the verse from Yajurveda in question. Zakir Naik quotes ”na tasya pratima astii “There is no image of him” (Yajur Veda 32.3) Interestingly he also quotes Svetasvatra Upanishad (4.19) which has a similar verse: “na tasya pratima astii “There is no likeness of him” (Svetasvatra Upanishad 4.19) Note the difference in the translation of the same verse appearing in two different scriptures. Why is Zakir Naik giving a different translation for the same verse? Also, in both the quotations, he has quoted only half the verse. The complete verse from the Svetasvatra Upanishad (4.19) is “No one can grasp Him above, across, or in the middle. There is no likeness of Him. His name is Great Glory.” A person who doesn't believe in Gita will be likely to misinterpret it. ALSO: The devotee conceives of the Supersoul, whose presence surcharges the devotee's body, in the form corresponding to his realization. Thus the devotee worships the Lord to his full capacity and becomes fully absorbed in Him. By touching the various limbs of the Deity and chanting appropriate mantras, the devotee should invite the Supersoul to join the Deity's form, and then the devotee should worship Me. (Srimad Bhagavatam----11:27:24----purport).

Zakir Naik is right. He quoted the right verse to prove that idol worship is wrong and sin.
Dr. Zakir Naik talks in a loud voice, quoting and misquoting verses from Hindu scriptures to an audience that is not well informed nor knowledgeable about what is written in those scriptures. And in the bargain he creates the impression in the minds of his I'll informed listeners, that he is an authority in interpreting Hindu scriptures that have been in existence for ages. Dr Zakir Naik can at best be a medical doctor, nothing more nothing less. He cannot be an informed commentator or interpreter of Hindu scriptures, in which his knowledge and understanding are poor, to say the least.

If vedas state that the God has no image, why are they praising Lord Shiva as the God of Gods, who has an image. Originally God exist in the form of light, to do the creation God took the form of Lord Shiva, a messenger sang 'atuvamum utuvamahi' meaning the formless came in the form, relating to Lord Shiva, and Allah is no other than Shiva. When siddhars meditated they saw an indefinite light with the brightness of billions of suns, in it they saw the dance of Lord Shiva.

For all the non-Muslims here, this message is for you: Kaaba is not idol worshipping. Kaaba is just a direction. When we pray namaz, some might say that lets face south or north or east or west. So for unity, we face towards the Kaaba which is the Qibla meaning its just a direction. Also at the time of the prophets there were Sahabas (companions of the prophets) who stood on top of the Kaaba and gave the Azan. No idol worshipper will ever stand on top of the idol they are worshipping. Now comes going circle or circumambulating around the Kaaba. If u look at the creation, from the tiny world of quantum to the huge celestial bodies in the universe, from the very atom to the biggest stars and planets, they are all rotating and circumambulating around a certain axis in a counter-clockwise direction and this is exactly what the Muslims are doing around the Kaaba. So in Islam, its an act of worship. It means in nature everything is worshipping the Almighty creator but not the body which is in the center of the circumambulation.

The idols are neither random nor intended as superstitious objects, rather they are designed with embedded symbolism and iconographic rules which sets the style, proportions, the colors, the nature of items the images carry, their mudra and the legends associated with the deity. The agenda of narrow minded Abrahamic indoctrination is very evident.

The Bhagavad Gita was spoken 5000 years ago last and this was not the first time it was spoken. It was spoken to Vivasan (the sun god who is in charge of the sun). Krishna tells Arjuna that the Bhagavad Gita is not new. He tells Arjuna that He originally spoke the Gita to the Sun god, Vivasvan, at the beginning of the creation, and that the knowledge was handed down through the saintly kings from generation to generation, but now that knowledge had become lost, so therefore Krishna again spoke that same original knowledge to Arjuna: sri-bhagavan uvaca imam vivasvate yogam proktavan aham avyayam vivasvan manave praha manur iksvakave 'bravit "The Blessed Lord said: I instructed this imperishable science of yoga to the sun-god, Vivasvān, and Vivasvān instructed it to Manu, the father of mankind, and Manu in turn instructed it to Ikṣvāku." (chapter 4 text 1). ALSO "The Deity form of the Lord is said to appear in eight varieties-stone, wood, metal, earth, paint, sand, the mind or jewels." (Srimad Bhagavatam----11:27:12----purport). DR ZAKIR NAIK ALWAYS USES THE LINE (na tasya pratimasti) which is definetely true by meaning of "“There is no image of Him”. this simply means that krishna is confound to an image he can be in an image but not confound or limited to it. Zakir Naik quotes Yajur veda (32.3) to prove that God doesn’t have a form. Whether God has a form or not according to Vedic scriptures is a secondary point. It’s more important to first question the authenticity of the references used by Dr Zakir Naik. For instance let’s take the verse from Yajurveda in question. Zakir Naik quotes ”na tasya pratima astii “There is no image of him” (Yajur Veda 32.3) Interestingly he also quotes Svetasvatra Upanishad (4.19) which has a similar verse: “na tasya pratima astii “There is no likeness of him” (Svetasvatra Upanishad 4.19) Note the difference in the translation of the same verse appearing in two different scriptures. Why is Zakir Naik giving a different translation for the same verse? Also, in both the quotations, he has quoted only half the verse. The complete verse from the Svetasvatra Upanishad (4.19) is “No one can grasp Him above, across, or in the middle. There is no likeness of Him. His name is Great Glory.” A person who doesn't believe in Gita will be likely to misinterpret it. ALSO: The devotee conceives of the Supersoul, whose presence surcharges the devotee's body, in the form corresponding to his realization. Thus the devotee worships the Lord to his full capacity and becomes fully absorbed in Him. By touching the various limbs of the Deity and chanting appropriate mantras, the devotee should invite the Supersoul to join the Deity's form, and then the devotee should worship Me. (Srimad Bhagavatam----11:27:24----purport).

It is not idol-worship but deity-worship. There is a big difference. A deity is a manifestation of the universal superconsciousness. Deities are installed by means of invocation and infusion of the universal super-intelligent superconsciousness energy within a deity. The principles of manifestation and procedures of invocation and infusion are only found in the Vedas and the Agamas. It is not found in the Abrahamic religions simply because there is no seeking but mere believing. The Quran does not have these principles in it.

Vedic Clarification 1. God has both the aspects formless and definite (i.e. with form) 2. Worshipping definite form of God is easier as it gives an object to our mind to think of. 3. But, because of the limitations of mind, we can never encompass God with any of our thoughts because he is beyond our mind. Same goes with idols, as none of these idols can truly describe God. Simply put, none of our worship to the God could ever be truly correct. That is why the Yajurveda and Shvetashvatara say that God has no image. They not only say that the idol worship is incorrect, but also say that any of our imaginations of God can not be correct. 4. However, God who is causelessly merciful understands our limitations and graces us with his love. Even though, our worship is not correct and can never be correct. 5. Secret of idol worship is that those who truly understand idol worship, do not worship the piece is stone. They rather worship the God who resides in the idol. Because, we know that God is omnipresent (that he resides even in that idol) and omniscient (knows that we are worshipping him). He bestows on us, his divine grace.

God is omnipotent doesn't signify that He'll reside in any object as cow, stone, straw, mud, etc. The fact is that those we do not have the Holy Spirit do not know God. The answer i can think of is: If anyone creates a bad image, sketch, statue of your parents that do not match with them, like have dark colour than actual or nose isnt appropriate or if any one symbolizes an animal as your parent; even if they do in a good faith you will feel hurt cuz u will feel that the image / statue or animal idol is degrading yr parents stature beacuse it is not the acutal depiction of them. Suppose that your parent who is a human is being symbolized by an animal (idol/ image) how demeaning and hurtful you will feel. But a parent is just a human and God is way way beyond superior than any creation cuz He is creator of all. So to create an image or associating an idol for The greatest Entity in a form of a Lower creation (Human/ Animal etc) becomes a greatest insult to that personality. Thats why logically its wrong to do so.

I actually like the covincing tone he has while speaking. One needs lot of knowledge and research to speak like that. But I want to highlight some points regarding idol worship in Hinduism which is widely misunderstood. Hinduism is a mystical religion. Superficially from the outside the ones with different belief may consider the practices ridiculous but every practice that has its root in the Vedic ages, has a deeper meaning. In Sanatana Dharma, the Upanishads describe that God is infinite, when one believes in this infinite eternal existence of the Almighty, he/she sees God in everything. God is present in every creature, in every being. We actually worship the ONE and ONLY power but in various forms. The spiritual goal of the soul is to connect with that eternal form of God(who is ONE, formless, shapeless), the lowest form of which remains idol worship.
If God is present in every creature how come those creatures are so weak? Instead you should say God is not present in every creature but the control of God is in every creature so the life of that creature depends on God.God is almighty and free of needs unlike other creatures.He lives above seven skies and the whole universe is like size of a pea or even less compared to Him.

This is a response to all those ridiculing idol worship. I can give the same kind of argument, Why do u need to go to masjid Or mosque to pray? U can pray anywhere right? Masjid is just a building made by a man. The quran you buy in a shop is also printed book by a publishing company in papers manufactured by humans. But you consider the Quran to be sacred right? Similar to that idols in Hinduism ,pictures of Jesus or crucifix in Christianity, temples, churches, mosques are all structures and things built by humans, we all know that . But these religious structures helps us to express our faith to God, they are things that help us focus during our prayers and act as a medium to connect with God that's all. Any object is just an object until you place a sentimental value to it.In the end that is what matters. Hinduism does not restrict anyone from worshipping in they way want. We believe God manifests in all forms. U can meditate, or use an idol, or not pray at all but if u do good and be good u will still go to heaven. Prayers are supposed to make us feel good and happy, so hinduism allows u to do it any form u find convenient. According to hinduism, gods don't punish humans even if they don't pray as long as they are good people. God's don't demand anything in hinduism , people are rewarded based on their good nature. Nothing else matters.

Kaaba is not idol worshipping. Kaaba is just a direction. When we pray namaz, some might say that lets face south or north or east or west. So for unity, we face towards the Kaaba which is the Qibla meaning its just a direction. Also at the time of the prophets there were Sahabas (companions of the prophets) who stood on top of the Kaaba and gave the Azan. No idol worshipper will ever stand on top of the idol they are worshipping. Now comes going circle or circumambulating around the Kaaba. If u look at the creation, from the tiny world of quantum to the huge celestial bodies in the universe, from the very atom to the biggest stars and planets, they are all rotating and circumambulating around a certain axis in a counter-clockwise direction and this is exactly what the Muslims are doing around the Kaaba. So in Islam, its an act of worship. It means in nature everything is worshipping the Almighty creator but not the body which is in the center of the circumambulation.

Please dive deep into the history of kaabah and why it's erected? That too can't protect itself from environment catastrophe and wars . Even the kaabah was partly demolished in history and the stones were attached back . Why is this is contradicting with the teachings? Why we need to pray at that direction? Is this the place where the messenger's reside . Why would we worship the place where the messenger resides ? when we should not even worship the messenger ?

Na tasya pratima asti does not mean that God has no any idol. Rather it means that there is no equal to God. Pratima does not mean idols, pictures, paintings, statues. Pratima means comparison (upama). So na tasya prarima asti means God has no comparison !!!
