Thank you for the visit. It was awesome to meet you. We remain in touch.
As a Portuguese, I thank you for this outstanding video! 😊 I'm glad that you have enjoyed it!
You're very welcome!
Hello Tony, I'm very happy that you enjoyed your stay here in Portugal. A few more days and you would have found better weather. Congratulations on the video, which is excellent as always. I also want to congratulate the museum's promoters, who, unfortunately, I didn't know. I hope to be able to visit soon. Obrigado e volta sempre!
Yes, the weather got better while I was on my way to the airport! :D I'm happy you learnt about the museum from me, I hope you can visit it someday! Thank you!
Nice "travel" video :) Thank you very much.
Thank you for watching!
Hello Tony!! Very nice video about your trip and the museum!! I'm glad you enjoyed the visit and met Joao and Bruno. They deserve all the acknowledgments for their hard work!! If you visit Galicia in one of your holidays, maybe we can meet in the MUVI, Museo do Videoxogo de Galicia. Looking forward to your next video!!
Thank you, I'll keep this in mind if ever end up in Galicia!
I've read that Sir Clive was obsessed with visual and product design. This museum looks like a very fitting tribute.
interesting, I wasn't aware!
Nice holiday :) What a cool museum!
I'll watch your travel videos any time! Very interesting video. As someone from the US, I find UK (and European in general) computers a fascinating subject.
Thank you!
Nice video! Always nice to see the retro computers from Europe. I'm American, and the very first computer I ever used was a Timex Sinclair TS1000. I'll never forget it.
Ah, amazing! I wasn't aware of the Timex part of Sinclair's story so that's pretty cool!
My country! Awesome!
Thank you. A cool video!
Obrigado for this great video and showcase of the museum! I will have to go there soon!
I'm sure you'll enjoy! Let me know what you think!
What a cool museum... very nice !
12:48 as an inhabitant of the Netherlands, I was asked to help João procure this C5. João and I have purchased a number of clones for each other over the past few years, helping to grow our respective collection of Sinclair computers. 😄
Amazing! Was the C5 more popular in the Netherlands than other countries?
@@tony359 I do think so! The Nederlands has always been a very bicycle friendly country. Checking a Dutch marketplace website I currently see 3 C5's for sale at 300 to 400 euros.
Ah of course - though... is the C5 a bicycle? :) Well, it had pedals! :)
@@tony359 tricycle! 😁
I had no idea there was a sinclair museum in Portugal. It also looks to be a really good museum thanks for the tour. I had heard the spectrum had some success in Portugal, I did not realise it was the Timex version however.
I am a newbie when it comes to Sinclair and the tour was very informative. I had a glimpse of Sinclair's products when I repaired my two ZX Spectrum, I had no idea he was involved with so many more projects over his life!
@@tony359 It's amazing how many different ventures and products he was responsible for.
@@RetroBytesUK we had both here... The TIMEX machines, but also regular rubber-keys like I had. But many were assembled here. Even some batches to export to Dundee to cope with the huge numbers needed.
I've only been in Portugal once, in and around Lisbon, and for some work related things, but we had an amazing time, and definitely want to go back for a holiday to see more of the country.. Also, what an unexpected thing - to the unaware like me, a Sinclair museum in rural Portugal. Would be definitely an interesting visit. Being a 68k guy - mostly, I only have a Sinclair QL from the lineup. It's a nice little machine, including all of its quirks, but my God, the microdrives are just awful. And of course the past 40 years did not make them more reliable a single bit. Modern replacements exist tho'. Good stuff. Thanks for bringing us along, Tony!
You're welcome - Oh, I can imagine the Microdrives might be unusable these days with 40 years on their shoulders! :)
The ZX Spectrum was absolutely *huge,* not only in Britain but also all over Europe. It was the Amiga of the 8 bit era. (Runs for cover before all the C64 fans read this comment)
Nah, I think it's a fact. The C64 was better but was much more expensive. Sinclair chose that corner of the market to avoid having to fight against those bigger brands. When I first opened a ZX, I was disappointed. It was cheap! But then I realised it was 1982, it was less than £100 and that made it amazing :)
So good you came to my country Tony! its I piety I didnt know 🙂 We had a very rainy year this year
I did notice! 🙂 Thankfully I had some good weather too - and I have to say I never got disappointed, even when it was raining!
This is really cool. I'd love to visit some day!
Thank you!
The place I'd like to visit so much!
it's really nice and on a nice day there's plenty to see nearby :)
Great video!
Thank you!
Aqui no Brasil o clone mais famoso do Sinclair foi o TK-85 desenvolvido pela empresa Microdigital em 1983. Agora queremos um vídeo do Tony visitando o país da Feijoada e do Acarajé :) Será muito bem-vindo.
My two weeks of Portuguese course do not allow me to reply without using Google Translate - but I can understand without translation! Though, I didn't know what the Acarajé was! :) Looking forward to a Feijoada! The museum might have the TK-85, I think they mentioned "Microdigital" but it was so much in so little time! :)
Bom Dia
Bom dia, tudo bem? :)
Can't spot any Elwro Junior ;)
Oh I'm sure it's there somewhere :)
I'm famous now!! 😂
You are! Get some sunglasses! :) (though this is so far the worst video ever when it comes to views.... So not SO famous! :)
