Personally I'd have given a DQ for Weidman. I believe it was 4 pokes from Chris alone. 2 of which led directly into the finish on the ground. Like you can't even put that on a highlight reel for Chris's promo.

I didn’t even think of that. If they put that in his highlight reel, they will just put some lame voice over it but real MMA fans will always be reminded of the truth… It’s going to destroy Weidman’s legacy slowly…hopefully they acknowledge it was a controversial decision and not treat us like we’re dumb.

UFC basically set the precedent: “You can commit any foul w/o punishment AS LONG AS you turn the foul into a finish”
This happened before with nutshots. Couldn't name the fight, but a fighter repeatedly hit his opponent in the nuts, and the final time he fell to the ground and the ref called it off as a TKO (in favor of the nutcracker)

If Its not overturned, you might as well just allow eyepokes then. This is the worst Example of eyepoking in ufc history. So if Its not overturned Then nevermind the rule. And Weismann has a chance of becoming champion again unless his nails break Or something
It should definitely be a N/C but it's not the worst example in ufc history. Li Jingliang made Jake Matthews bleed from his eyes by gouging them so hard on the ground, and Cormier eye gouged stipe so badly and so many times that stipe had to get surgery to fix the damage

And there it is. Those who don't, don't, those who do, do. Repeatedly. Those saying Bruno was losing, badly... sure. And that's up to him to deal with in the aftermath, what he did wrong, what he shoulda/coulda/woulda done right, simple. But coming away abused by eyepokes, and the final 1-2 eyepoke combo only acknowledged in so far as that is why you are down, not a strike... Bad taste in the mouth. I guess you guys just need to train harder on toughening up your eyeballs and learning how to defend and strike against the two blokes you have in front of you.
Nothing will happen with the result as chris was winning. If it was a close fight I think it could be an overturn. Also watching the replay silva didn't help himself in the way he dropped. He dropped like it was a shot.
Weidman needed a win bad enough to poke his way to victory. The 1-2 poke combo was an all time low for the UFC, I guess he wanted to take the cringe championship home

The only thing missing is the video of Weidman's training the eyepoke 1-2 combo in the locker room.
Weidman got the unanimous decision because he was winning the fight up until the eye pokes. They took away a point and scored it to that point
The problem is that silva threw himself on the floor, stopping the fight. The referee didn't stop it. So the judges scored it for Weidman up to that point. UD stands, no appeal.

As an American, I’m routing for Weidman in this fight, however, Chris should’ve been disqualified, plain and simple. Bruno got shafted hard. That was mad shite.
Chris looked like a 39yo imo 🐢 I was actually hoping he lost and retires for his own benefit, I think this undeserved win could lead him onto a beating depending who he fights next
