    • @@mrhintz9680 It effects his health if he stays in the game for too long. One of the most difficult things a fighter can do is call it quits, but you have to do that at some point in your career. If you stay for too long past your prime you're not gonna further your legacy and you're just gonna end up hurting yourself. It's pretty much pointless fighting past your prime, it's hard not to do that but it still doesn't change the fact that it adds nothing to your legacy.

    • @@drago_024 Why should he care about his legacy anymore? he will be rembered as 1 if not the greatest of all time no mather what he does. His health is actually an argument of ending his career. But him having fun and love for the sport is an argument to keep going. And thats simply his choice and my opinion or that of anybody else should not impact his dicision. And even if he dmg his legacy, its still his legacy and his choice to fight for fun instead of having an flawless legacy.

    • The UFC actually wanted Silva to retire before the Chris Weidman fights which would have been the smart thing to do as Silva had already made a lot of money, would have attained a perfect legacy and today we would be arguing non-stop whether it was GSP or Anderson who was the GOAT. In addition because Silva was never defeated in his prime all the subsequent Middleweight Champions would be compared to him and the consensus would be "Anderson Silva beats them all no question". Silva however despite the hefty 'retirement package' which included a Bentley didn't get the memo and loved fighting too much. Consequently he suffered those two defeats to Chris Weidman and it was all downhill from there. Weidman was just a bad matchup for The Spider.

    • I'm Brazilian and also a big fan of both. With an honest outlook at the sport of MMA today, seeing how it evolves rapidly, I would say Izzy does have all the technical tools to be in GOAT status in a few years time. Even surpassing Spider. And also because of Spider, because their styles are just so similar. And people already refer to Izzy as Spider of the new generation. Their movements are so plastic and effective. It is just a joy to watch them fight. And Izzy keeps getting better. Spider was the fighter ahead of his time. Much more technical than the competition. Izzy faces a very similar reality. Although the competition nowadays is tougher than when Spider was the dominant champion. The contenders are more technical and more physically prepared.

  • Silva is a 1/1 talent that can't be replicated. Adesanya is a great encore to the Silva Skills but he's a far cry from the dominant legend that beat anyone and everyone who was headlined against him.
