In this video we’ll be going over the top 20 most sought after weapons tmogs in WoW. These weapons can come from any source, but they must still be obtainable in the modern game, so unfortunately we can’t include items such as the Staff of Atiesh or the Corrupted Ashbringer.

I farmed the Battered Hilt in the Pit of Saron. So you don't have to just stick to the Halls of Reflection. You also get all the appearances once you complete the quest.
Yep, they drop from any of the ICC dungeons with PoS being the best place to farm it.
yeah i also got all the appearences
Yeah. I saw it drop twice in Forges of Souls
I was about to say back in 2009 it dropped for me in Pit of Saron, if nothing's changed then it should still drop there. Got it on day 1 of the release of the 3 dungeons, on the first run my friends and I did! Couldn't forget that moment.
@@Kranus03 almost thought i was the only crazy fuck who did that xD
I'd like to add that if you're a Demon hunter and you're farming the warglaives on said demon hunter, there is a skip for them in BT, after defeating the second boss, the giant elemental guarding the entrance, there's a chain to the left when you enter that you can climb, when you climb high enough, you can double jump and dash to the platform that takes you towards the last 3 bosses, skipping the other 3 entirely and can get to Illidan more directly, meaning a big time save.
Thank you for the tip but it's too late for me. How did you discovered this "secret"?
@@cojanemanuel8319 A video was made about it from Archvaldor, I take it you already own both glaives?
First week I got the first glaive on my DH and the second week I got the second glaive on my DH. I was incredibly lucky, and used that trick as well. It helped me so much
To this day I wish I could get Shadowmourne and Taeshelach. Not for me. Im a Warlock. For my Wrathguard. He deserves nice things.
Can you imagine customizing your demon's gear?
@@oscarescudero8111 Was the Glyph for Warlocks removed that allowed them to change their Felguards weapon?
@@aureliodeprimus8018 Your wrath and felguard can still have different weapons. But as warlock you have to have the sweet ones like Edge of Apocalypse from HFC etc dropped.
@@aureliodeprimus8018 You can still get it, but for the last bunch of expansions the cool two handed swords dont drop for warlocks due to the new tailored loot systems. And Shadowmourne was always in a quest Warlocks cant do.
I gave my Wrathguard Gorehowl from Karazhan, my warlock is an orc and during 5.4 I got pissed at Garrosh for killing all the orc warlocks so I farmed Karazhan until it dropped so I have my demon fight the a**hole in Siege of Orgrimmar with his father's weapon xD
A fun fact, Sylvannas also has the ability to use a Wailing Arrow in heroes of the storm, the only change being that she casts it at a location and not directly at a player.
When I did Quel'Delar I got all mog appearances, even the petty ones. I did it like 3 years ago.
Correct
When the transmog tab was first added, it was still 1 appearance per quest, if you do the quest now (post quest reward transmog update sometime in WoD/Legion) you get everything but the maces if you complete the quest with a 2 hand 1 hand sword proficient character
@@liplak2029 Who can use swords but not maces? Mages can use 1 hand swords, priests can use one hand maces. Rogues/Hunter/Paladin/Warrior/Monk/DK can all use both. Like, I'm not trying to be me. I'm genuinely curious which class can use both 1 and 2 hand swords, but can't use the maces. I feel like it's more that someone might not be able to use 2 hand maces(rogue/hunter.)
@@liplak2029 I got all the appearances when I completed the quest. Don't remember if I completed in my pally or warrior, though. It may have been WoD or Legion, too.
I did the quest long before WoD and Legion and I received every mog appearance. I've only ever done the quest once and it was on a warlock, which can't wield any but the 1h variant. So idk how you can explain that away but my experience is the opposite of what the video states.
One additional Shadowmourne benefit, upon completion you get 4-5 quests that each give a BOE item, a couple of which still fetch a decent price on the AH
correction the Battered Hilt can drop in any of the 3 ICC dungeons not just Halls of Reflection and most people farm Pit of Saron for it as it has the largest number of mobs with the least travel time (one loop around the pit without pulling any boss's, wait for mobs to stack up and then aoe them down, exit, reset and repeat).
"A massive pain in the Assinoth" 10/10 Comedy Level
Did he say Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of The Windseeker?
I'll never forget how one time the Quel'Delar quest dropped for me, and I unknowingly gave it away to a random in my group. Not even mad about it, but I never ended up getting it again
Bonus is that you can buy that item from the AH, currently going for around 30K for Alliance and 20K for Horde at the cheapest.
Took me 8 months of grinding to get Taeshalach, back when you had to use pets to solo Aggramar as they wouldn't be affected by the AoE push off the arena. Worth it though.
Took me up until a few months ago, running on multiple characters every week since 7.3...kill me
Thats nuts i thought it had a %100 drop rate since my first time soloing the raid i got it lol
"Reclaimed Ashkandi, Brotherhood of Ashkandur" Had a slight stroke, don't worry about it
Great video! For me the most sought after weapons included the long lost but recently returned "Black Metal" weapons from Vanilla, as a musician, I was glad to finally get all of these a couple months ago. There are other green item weapons that could've made this list too like Ghoulfang.
You missed TWO V E R Y sought after xmogs: Arcanite Ripper (the one from Karazhan, do not get confused with Arcanite Reaper) and Sun-Lute of the Phoenix King!
Imagine my joy when I trashed the Arcanite Ripper just because there was no room in my inventory...
@@paolo5297 what in your bags was so important that you couldnt delete it so you could loot Ripper? Nothing thats what.
they're not sought after as much as those as they are REALLY HARD and near impossible to get
@paolo5297 you can recover on blizzards website
wait, those are still available?
I am so blessed that I got taeshelach on my 1st run, but have been farming for purity’s edge for 3 months now. This was a fun vid, keep it up.
3:34 this is not correct, 251 is normal ilvl from 10man. 264 is the heroic ilvl. and 277 is the heroic 25man ilvl.
Came here to say exactly that.
He is wrong on it being heroic quality. Also weapons from LK get +7 Itlvl added to the base level respectively. Normal 10 man gets 258 and 10H LK 271. 25N 278 weapons and 25H 284.
The Battered Hilt questline gives you ever appearance, I did it years ago on a Druid and could use all appearances on whatever class could, like the swords on a Demon Hunter. It happened in that change they made years ago where completed quests gave you all the appearances available.
I did the quest back in wrath, and I only have 1 appearance to this day
Thank you for making great content! Much love! 😊
Your video is good luck. ;3 I watched it yesterday and was reminded of the Scythe of the Unmaker. I haven't run mythic Antorus in ages because the Eonar fight is so annoying, but I gave it a go tonight and the Scythe dropped on my 2nd run. Thanks. (I already have Taeschalach.)
So happy I finally xmogged my Corrupted Ashbringer in the Cata Prepatch today 🎉🎉🎉
I wasn’t doing much raiding back in Wrath unfortunately, but was able to snag the Battered Hilt on AH for around 10k gold. A lot for me at the time, but was a pretty good investment for a weapon power level I’d never get otherwise.
Thori'dal also makes your auto shots have a cosmic appearance, which persists even today via transmog. Definitely my favorite legendary of all time, and yes I'm a hunter main lol. I also have a Warglaive of Azzinoth on my Druid that has been sitting in the bank since MoP, so I think it can drop for anyone
Minor correction: you do NOT need to be a DH to get the warglaive appearance from black temple timewalking, you only need to have the feat of strength for getting the swords, then you can clear the timewalking raid on any character and get the appearance on your DH
I got the Quel'delar lens of the mind as a destro lock back during wrath and it was one of THE best one handed option the entire ICC raid. And the questline was AMAZING. My guildmates helped me with the group parts and kept me company during the solo parts ^^ one of my best wrath memories. I got my battered hilt from the Forge of Souls trash mobs and man was I bombarded with requests to sell it to the other group members until my guildies got annoyed at them and told them that I needed it just as much as they did and that it dropped for ME so it's MINE. I miss that guild and that time^^
Ahhh ashkandi. One of my 1st favorite weapons that I've farmed for back in MoP :D whenever I xmog into the t2 judgement set, I also equipped the ashkandi
About your Thunderfury part of the video : you forgot to add that Outlaw Rogue artifact weapon hidden appearance was a HD version of Thunderfury with a similar questline to get it
True. They look like crap tho, HD or not
Also if you do this quest line and have Thunderfury then he has some choice words to say to you
I was so hype’d to stumble into that Rogue quest back in the day…that was a time playing without guides for the joy of discovery. I had a blast.
Should’ve been the Protection Warriors hidden appearance
I mostly play classic over retail but still enjoy these videos.
I was so happy when I got Ashkandur off of Echo on Heroic mode. Big awesome Purple sword that matched the Purple paladin tier set. What an awesome weapon model.
Ashkandur, is such a sexy weapon! I like the normal and heroic version more than the mythic color variant
I loved the Warglaives of Azzinoth so much, I farmed them before you got a transmog options, through the Feat of Strength - which I also did as soon as Black Temple timewalk released. I do hope we get a seperate version that is updated to more modern standards that honors the original design.
I had both Warglaives drop relatively quickly on my paladin during my long journey to get the shield tmog from Illidan. Took forever for them to drop for my DH and finally got the tmog during the most recent BC timewalking week.
Taeshalach is the Blade of Aggramar, who is the creator of the Orcs. Given it was indirectly, since the orcs descended from ogres and so on, until it was the first giants on Draenor. But that’s the case with all the titan created playable races. Whether done from an outside source or an eventual thing that happened due to circumstance.
I was so happy when they added the new Gorehowl. Garrosh was great but I'm a Grom fan lol sadly been farming Tasa'lok for so long
I have a few of those : - The worst : Thunderfury. I was cleaning the Moltencore for the T2 of my Paladin when I got one of the link... I took me 2 years and a half to finally get the second link. The good side is that I shared that moment with my brother in game when I summoned Tonneraan in Silithus. - The OMG : Thori'dal. I decided to clean the Sunwell with my warrior to get the massive Blood-elf shield on Brutallus... Didn't got the shield but I got Thori'dal on that run... on a Warrior... the FIRST time I explored the raid. For the others : - Quel'Delar : litterally one of the first thing I did when I came back in Legion (left wow in late Cataclysm) : check the AH and got the hilt. - Tarecgosa : Thank god, I had my brother helping me for one of the boss (the trapper and the shard from his traps). - Fangs of the Father : a long grind, but relatively easy overall. - Fandral's Flamescythe : OOOooohhh, that's why I have the flame cat available. - Gorehowl : I have the version from Karazhan, so I'm happy. - Ashkandi : I have the V1 and V2. I may bother to take the V3 one day. - Shadowmourne : did begin the quest, but stuck in Lana'thael encounter. - Zin'rokh : might be my longest "on and off" chase right now.
tarecgosa's staff also had a questchain added in dragonflight allowing players to activate the mount form without having to have the staff equipped or a weapon swap macro, so long as the player has the staff and only works for that specific character who has the staff. (Not account wide, sadly)
I’ve done this quest line a number of times now, first was on my DK when those dungeons first came out. I never noticed the difference when doing it in a Blood Elf, I did it with my BE warlock and took the 2 hander so my Felguard could wield it, it looked good in Legion having him smashing other demons with it.
Awesome video!
Watching this, I was surprised at how many of these I have. Still farming for Thunderfury... but I do have both warglaives, sulfuras, and thoridal 😊
I have fond memories of healing CMs in MoP with my trusty Val'anyr. When we got serious about it and started selling the boost for the CM-set and tried to squeeze as many runs as we would in the time we all had to play that day I had to self it unfortunately :(
Thanks for the video, but what about Gorehowl from the last boss of Karazhan in TBC ?
Isn't there a low-drop epic version of Gorehowl from the last boss of Karazhan? Also, I place Thunderfury as a BWL weapon even if the 3 drops you need are from MC because you need Elementium as well hehe.
Love your vids so much
12/20 for me, not too bad. Funny story about Taeshalach, I got it on an LFR run on my warrior which i didn't play much but didn't notice i received it until a couple months later i happened to get back on that char and noticed this odd sword in my inventory. 1) Warglaives of Azzinoth 2) Taeshalach 4) Shadowmourne 6) Ashkandi, Greatsword of the Brotherhood 7) Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros 9) Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest 10) Fandral's Flamescythe 11) Fangs of the Father 12) Thori'dal 13) Thunderfury 15) Val'nyr 18) Quel'Delar
I would like to add a couple more awesome weapons to the list: the Infinite Hand from Tyr in the Dawn of the Infinite (Hiru is actually wielding it in the Dawn of the Infinite clips) and Gavel of the First Arbiter from the Jailer. They might not be very rare, but cool and quite interesting lore-wise.
You can get the battered hilt for Quel Delar from any of the icc dungeons on heroic, not just Halls of Reflection, and the rewards are equivalent to ICC10n not heroic
I just finished my warglaive collection last week! Now just waiting for TBC timewalking week thats coming up soon.
For the record, the slowfall use-effect on the Rogue Daggers still works. I keep them in my bags to this day for this exact purpose.
I got both of the Warglaives within two weeks back to back luckily on my Demon Hunter just in time for the timewalking event ❤
Very nice video!
I think it was that giant frost skeleton in Halls of Reflection that has the highest drop rate of the Battered Hilt. But yeah, a friend of mine got his from Forge of Souls, while mine dropped from Pit of Saron.
small correction for "pain in the Azzinoth" (10/10), any class can complete the timewalking raid for transmog if you have achievement unlocked
We got two sets of glaives in TbC, man that felt good.
I have more weapons on this list than I thought I did 😂 The blue scythe of the unmaker is just so darn pretty and taeshalach came as a drop while farming for the scythe
I got Taeshelach when I went with my friend who wanted the DK set from the raid. Of course as a Ret player I wanted the sword, but never expected to get it. Its funny because the friend I went with is known to be a great luck charm but very unlucky himself for drops.
As far as I know, if you complete a quest where you have to choose a reward, you got the other option as appearance in your collection. Its the same with the Quel'delar Questline. I did it once and i have all 7 appearances
For someone that quit in early BfA, I'm proud to say I got 9 of these (Chromatic, Quel'Delar, Val'anyr, Thunderfury, Thori'dal, Dragonwrath, Scythe of the Unmaker, Shadowmourne, Warglaives). On the lucky side, I got Scythe somewhere within 5 runs. On the unlucky side, I got both halves of the Warglaives... on my hunter.
I remember the battered hilt dropping on a pit of saron run back during ICC. It was the last dungeon run before raid night and I run the roll..... On my shaman
I have one of the greatest and most rare legendary items in WoW: Blackhand's Severed Arm! No, but seriously, due to some glitch, even though I completed the entire questline for the ring, this was mailed to me from the postmaster and now it sits in my bank where I might occasionally /slap people with it in trade chat :D Also, side note on the warglaives: they will drop for anyone, but only those classes that can equip them will get the achievement. Which was a bullshit move by blizz because I got them on my hunter and got the achievement before they changed it and had the achievement removed from my list. AND if you equip the glaives when you run the Well of Eternity dungeon, Illidan has some special interaction to it.
Surprised no mention of Ashbringer off the OG 4 horsemen. Got it in classic for my warrior. the cutsceen in SM making the effort worth it. Also, in vanilla I could never bring myself to d/e my Benediction. It was so iconic.
Warglaives of Azzinoth can drop for anyone, I have one on my druid that I got before the leather helmet when farming for it. You just can't get the Feat of Strength unless you equip both.
The note on Thunderfury is incorrect - you noted that it is the only legendary that can be acquired even for classes that can't equip it. That distinction also holds true for Sulfuras. I made it on my Rogue and cannot get the achievement because you have to WIELD (as in equip) the weapon to get the FoS
Ah yes, the duel spider talks WoW. Always a good time. Huh, never saw or knew about #2.
I'm pretty sure Evokers can NOT use bows, or am I mistaken? Also, quick history fact: The first person (we know of) to receive the bow was a rogue. This was because the ammo created by the bow wasn't as good as the best ammo at the time and supposedly was a dps loss using it. Me personally, this blasted thing dropped for me soloing the raid as a shaman. Kept in in my bank for years and tossed it sometime before transferring servers; only then for blizzard to reveal the transmog changes coming in A War Within a few weeks later =S
The weapon ive had in my bag since the kara pre wrath event is the arcanite ripper =) easily my most treasured item
I have had a macro on my mage to switch and cast the spell to change me into a dragon for years. Im glad they finally added a item to skip that.
When Demon Hunters came out, I did Black Temple 24 hours later and got one of the warglaives, then 2 weeks later I got the other. My friends hated me for years. Some of my friends still hate me, but that's beside the point.
Unless they've changed it since I completed the Quel'Delar questline (27/6 2016) you do get all the different weapon transmogs (I completed it on a warrior if that matters).
I only ran the Sunwell once where I beat Kil'Jaeden. And I also got Thori'Dal from it :3
I have both colored scythes and the mythic Argus mount. Been running Antorus on a warrior and a paladin for over 2 years most weeks and still don't have Taesalach.......its very rare. I'm convinced it's the rarest single drop non quest thing in the game.
love those Dragonfligth related pronunciations
The Royal Sword is the one Turalyon is wielding in-game. It was reforged by the light during the battle with Doomhammer and thus he kept it since then
I made a deathknight, ill be farming in outland for the Dark Crest set and then a nice plain looking Two handed sword!
got taeshalach while it was current content, so dope on a fury warrior
Scythe should be higher, just as rare as aggramar’s sword and better looking than most weapons from vanilla
I remember getting Tael on my first run with my girlfriends guild on my warrior, at the time I had no idea just how rare it was and why everyone was kinda pissed off at undergeared me lol
I got lucky on the warglaives.. Got right on a friday WITH a visor drop too... and tuesday came around, ran it got the left. So happy I didn't have to farm.. Now have to wait for timewalking to run the raid to get the transmog.
Wow, didn't know how lucky I was. Didn't know Taesalach was rare. Just got it while twinking back in BFA
So as someone who stopped playing around BFA was Dragonflight received well from the player base?
Don’t forget that for a while, Thunderfury was still a tank bis weapon in *TBC because of its status effect. It was outstanding at generating and maintaining threat in dungeons and early raids
You mean in TBC. ^^
@@rollingslothmachine3431 yes. Thanks for clarifying lol
Idk if I should be proud or sad that I have almost all of them, its been a while since ive seen grass...
#13 Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker - you have to have all 3 versions of the sword to say you collected it -d the legendary, the blue, the toy rubber version
I was lowkey pissed when I got Taeshalach and the Scythe of the Unmaker because I never got a single piece of gear to drop, and all my rerolls went to gold or some bs Artifact Power, but when I realized how good Tae looked with the Blackrock set, I had no idea how low their drop rate was, everyone was hype for me, but I just wanted to gear up 😭
What is the weapon on the thumbnail? Don't recognize it and unless I'm missing it I didn't see it in the video.
i still remember back in WOD when the warglaives of azzinoth had a 100% drop rate bug happen i got it on two chars that day
You can do Thunderfury on any class, but you can't get the Feat of Strength unless you can equip it. I did it first on a druid to have that happen while farming the Ragnaros weapon to then later do it on a rogue or DH (I forget which one got both halves first) to be able to get the achievement and appearance.
So far. ive gotten TF on warlock, mage, rogue, 2 warrirors, 3 dks, 2 paladins, 1 dh... and my shaman LOL... One day they'll let shaman weild swords i know it!
Quel'delar you can get from all 3 of the dungeons in icecrown and get all the mogs when completed now
I think that the group of players who WANT to have their own personal copy of a weapon (or a anything) which is legendary and unique in universe are a big issue for MMOs. Hopefully some dev can find a solution to that problem and cultivate a playerbase which is fine with letting the legendary just be somewhere out there. Keeps worldbuilding so much more epic.
I think Hammer of the Naaru belongs on this list. Sure it's really easy to farm, but it's super iconic.
I think that is why is not in the list. Too easy to get. You can also just make a class trial paladin and u'll get it with zero effort. (they start with a lookalike)
@@josejuanandrade4439 Oh. Well, it's still one of my favorite maces.
Quel delar or the hilt dropp in all of the three Dungeons and not only the halls
If you want to farm the warblades as a demon hunter you can jump up the chains skipping much of the bosses inside the main temple. its pretty quick now days i farmed a set on a demon hunter after the fact. lol
i did the quel dalar sword quest 2 times, on my dk and my mage. but i farmed for the hilt and this was back in wotlk. i still have it in their banks. I should note, that Other classes can have the warglaives drop, my warlock has one. just can't use it.
I will say that I got both war glaives at once! On retail and like 3 years ago but still got them both in one go!
This video is a summary of legendary weapons in wow
Scythe of the Unmaker isn't technically cosmetic only. It has stats as you show and during the BFA pre-patch when they deactivated the artifact weapons, it had almost as good stats as the artifact weapons. I actually used it for a bit as feral druid.
I'm surprised that Atiesh was not on the list. We were two in my guild back in Original to have Sulfuras and our tank had Thunderfury. And it was not much of a contest for those 3 legendaries (I had it as a Shamy, a warrior had the other one and our main tank had the sword). But Atiesh was sought after by all casters and even led to a few angry gquits once it was decided that a mage will get it.
Atiesh wasn’t listed because, as was stated at the beginning of the video, it is not currently attainable in the game.
Did someone say [thunderfury, blessed blade of the windseeker]?
I got the mythic scythe of the unmaker by accident, I was farming xmog for my monk and got it without realizing. Got the blue one about 2 weeks later by accident again
Did I hear someone say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?
I did Quel'delar quest in legion i think, with my warrior. Then i wanted to get the mace as well, then i made the quest again (bought another Battered hilt) when i look the collection I've got every other reward
Then I was farming Thunderfury, I got the first half after about 3 weeks. But, farming every week for the other half took me 4 YEARS! Also, I got Fangs of the Father back in BfA, but it won't let me use their transmog appearance.
what backpack addon is that at 17:55 ?
