the name Theseus is probably because of the clone bay replacing the crew

And perhaps the Lanius starting crew, given their species makes their ships out of scrap from others. Maybe the deep lore is this super damaged Mantis Ship was repaired by the Lanius, giving it the odd color scheme.

When running boarding strats, special shoutout to Hacking! Does the enemy ship have a Medbay? Are you sick of their crew running in and out, refusing to die? Just send your crew to fight, wait for one or two of the enemy crew to run to the Medbay, then place a Hacking Drone on it and activate. The enemy crew will be trapped inside, have their healing cancelled, and take damage at the same rate they would normally be healed. This usually kills them outright in the Hack duration. Then, even when the Hack is on cooldown, anyone trying to get into the Medbay has to break the doors open first - giving your crew either a comfortable window to finish them off, or to head inside to break the system.
Heck yeah man!
Alternately, instead of making them break down the doors to get into the medbay, depower your hacking to let them just walk in, then power it up again and start the hack to trap and kill them (I just noticed you said specifically when it's on cooldown oof my b)

Not every matis ship have boarding, some scouts and interceptor don't have them

This was the run where I learned the bossman didn't need a crew. But what I did find out was that a clone bay lets you mantis drone ships! it just take a while. >:D
Fortunately with the Basilisk you can do that with Boarding Drones too, no dead insects required. Again, just takes a while and it's a pain in the ass.
@@Randoman590dude, if you upgrade teleport to lvl 2, you can mantis drone ship also)) And it very good thing, because you able to fast upgrade your mantis crew melee. 2x golden melee mantis able to fast kill 1 enemy crew member in medbay, in other words - you solve medbay problem without drones or any type of weapons ONLY MELEE, ONLY HARDCORE!!!

Mantis ships are always fun, boarding is a fun strat. Usually I prefer Lanius for boarding but you cant go wrong with the classics.
Ohohoho, just you wait until I get to the Lanius ships. Variant B is my favorite ship in the game! Boarding is definitely a fun strat :3

I really really liked playing as mantis recently, i know it takes so long but doing a boarding strat is so satisfying. And i heavily agree that mantis B can just let you park your ship while feasting on the enemies Now about thesius, that ship is beyond horrible. What dev decided to give such awful starting weapons? I'd much rather have a small bomb or a heal bomb. Playing with that ship is basically venting your mantises to full hp, making sure your lanius doesn't kill your crew. And the single engi praying your dodge the enemy small missile which will CONSTANTLY chip your ship earlygame until A. You find a decent laser weapon B. You get lucky and finally get slavers event and get 3-4 boarding parties. Yesterday as i was playing the ship i would desperately look for shops to trade the starter weapons off. The drone fights without lasers is SOOOOO boring
Yeah, the Theseus’s biggest strength is the 4 man teleporter. It has a lot of problems, the Basilisk is way better
Mantis ships are really cool, but medbay instead of cloning on A variant is killing me. You need to either rush teleport upgrades to be able to heal your guys or buy cloning, which is cruel
Either way it’s rough, because if your clone bay goes down and a mantis is dead, yikes. It’s a difficult balance, but I will say, I agree, a clone bay is generally more useful

Of all the ships I have played, Mantis B, the Basilisk, has been my favorite to play so far
