  • Fantastic video. Also worth mentioning all the other types of metals found inside. IE Many transistors have a solid copper back, Heat sinks for CPU are Aluminium as are chassis for hard drives and hard drive discs. Some CPU chips have an aluminium heatsink attached. I remove these by applying heat to melt solder then they just fall off. Capacitors contain a lot of Aluminium also. So do not only go for the precious metals. There is a lot more to be recovered as well. All the tracking on boards are copper

    @fuzz2978@fuzz29782 ай бұрын
    • Considering the intricacies of e-waste recycling, pulverizing motherboards into almost dust-like powder might seem efficient, but it comes with challenges. The benefit lies in better element separation using water-flowing vibrator trays, outweighing the potential hassle associated with a finer powder approach. Thank you for your question!

  • Well done . So much content in one vid and I'd like to comment on each item but I'd be here all day discussing the aspects religiously. Lol. So it's amazing how no matter how much we know there's always something more to learn. Just yesterday I put my kg of phone vibration motors in the cupboard thinking what to do with them. now I know. Thanks. You have confirmed that a lot of things aren't worth the time and cost . Yet here I am. At least in Australian dollars that $0.20 USD is worth $0.60 AUD to me. I would like to know after motherboards stripped clean what percentage of of precious metals are left in laptop or PC motherboards..... And is there an easier way to strip a iPhone. I've tried smashing and still end up having to unscrew those tiny screws. They are so strong. Oh and the phone screens are they worth keeping or?

  • You should always pyrolyze then burn (not melt) the computer part to: 1. lower volume (need less acid to refine and keep metals submerged) 2. increase surface area by getting rid of plastics and other crap 3. Get rid of oils (those would make the extraction slower) 4. You don't need to break open the components 5. Write down below 2024 edit, ruthenium from smds will burn off though But its hard to process using acids anyway

You just got one in the latest video you posted, Nevermind you have one in this video the projection chip as you call it is a DLP cpu

      @dfsilversurfer@dfsilversurfer Жыл бұрын
    • @@dfsilversurfer that's where the screen starts on that chip it's the only thing it does than the screen is magnified a couple times onto the screen you watch. It doesn't process or do anything else. They call it cpu for ewaste but the actual computing power is done on the other chips on the boards. If you look at dlp or dmd chips you will see the screen, it's a mini TV basically...while you watch TV the same picture is playing on the chip inside the TV. Think of it as the video card 🤔

      @chosen1one930@chosen1one930 Жыл бұрын
    • @@dfsilversurfer a true cpu or processor controls almost everything, the dmd chip controls nothing it's just a place for the picture to start before its projected and reflected into a larger screen hence the name projectors or DLP tvs. It's completely different from a computer cpu processor and yes I called the dlp chip a cpu because I am into ewaste and to sell them or group them together people hae always called them cpus UT technically that's wrong
