Freddie Mercury was a man of many talents and many different sides. The songs he wrote for and with Queen filled stadiums around the globe and have rightly gone down in history, but he also embarked on a solo career that took him from the clubs of Munich and New York to the great opera houses of the world.
He was the ultimate showman, but he kept his private life away from the prying eyes of the media; a larger than life rock star who loved disco, classical music and ballet. He was a restless spirit, a true chameleon who revelled in his own contradictions.
All the different sides of this iconic musician can be found on Freddie Mercury: Messenger Of The Gods - The Singles. All formats released September 2nd 2016.
On 29th May 1987, a huge festival was held on the island of Ibiza, at a venue called Ku Club. Titled 'Ibiza '92', the event was held to celebrate Spain hosting the Olympic Games in 1992. Along with many other artists, Freddie appeared with Montserrat Caballé to showcase the song they had been working on - seventeen months before it was released as a single.

Heard this song for the first time when I was 8 years old in 1992 (Olympics) and it captured me instantly. Mesmerized I was. I am 40 now and I'm still blown away by it. My favourite part is "The moment that you stepped into the room you took my breathe away". I discover new pieces of it every time I listen to it. A note or a bell or a chime I haven't heard. Freddie Mercury, you were a genius.

- Thank you very much for your brillian comment. Freddy wanted all his life to sing with Monserrat, it is always said it will be his most desire in his life. There is a best Iglesias-Ross stars duet. This was the galaxy one. I doubt there will be others at such quality level. It will lasts forever.

- Самых лучших Осподь почему то у нас забирает к себе быстро. Может я буду гореть в аду но все равно скажу. Если на земле живет гнида конченая, она живет долго, коптит небо и создает проблемы людям. А если человек резко отличается, то его господь почему-то забирает в рассвете сил. Так вот у меня вопрос , за который видно я буду гореть в аду. This phenomenal duet gives me chills every time I hear it. I didn’t realize how incredible Freddie and Montserrat were when I was younger, putting this together but now I admire their deep and unique talent. Freddie was one of the few singers who could match Montserrat’s operatic voice. Both True Legends ❤

Ох как здорово! Мурашки по коже бегут всю дорогу. Такие красивые, глубокие, чистые и мощные голоса, шикарное исполнение, столько экспрессии! Вообще вот это сочетание эстрадного, рок-балладного стиля в исполнении Фредди и совершенно классического виртуозного оперного пения Кабалье получилось просто бесподобным. Красивейшее переплетение голосов, всякие фишечки и при этом неповторимо искренне.

- This song is the epitome of classical art. Yes today there are only a few people who can actually sing well but their voices are so digitized to make them sound perfect. Freddie and Monserrat blew me away with this song. I was raised listening to classical music and I can say that this song is definitely top ten.
