4:16 "postecoglu is insane" might me the most accurate assessment of his tactical mindset 😂
Not just insane ....dumb and stupid also 🤦♂️

Great video as usual👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. I've really appreciated Postecoglu's attacking structure, with the four players behind the front three. I've also noticed that, once Arsenal's started to defend in an extremely low block; very compact and basically dropping 10 men behind the line of the ball; Romero's joined the front line; leaving only Van de Ven and another man, prefarably one of the pivots. I have the feeling that the decision to move so many players so high up the pitch, occupying the offensive final third, has crammed that portion of the pitch, ending up obstructing the spaces in the front for Tottenham. And i think Arteta's made a great countermove, by dropping the whole of the squad way deeper and closing or reducing all the passing lines. It was a great tactical battle, between two brilliant managers.
Besides the obvious mistake that led to the first Spurs goal, I think this was another game which highlighted why Arteta wanted Havertz and especially chose Raya over Ramsdale. Raya kicked the ball deep fairly often in this game, and Arsenal was able to get possession deep in the Spurs half when that happened. Kicking deep to Saka seemed to yield the most success as Saka did a nice job fielding and holding the ball. Raya is good at this and that was something Arteta had the team work on a lot in preseason. Unfortunately for Ramsdale this isn’t really an area of strength in his game (although he does most of the traditional aspects of goalkeeping well).
I was more nervous for this game than the Chelsea game. Great win! COYG!
As an Arsenal fan I loved seeing Ange do well. Now we need him to bring his A game when he plays city.
He won't
@@LOOPS581yeah he won't. Chelsea would beat Tottenham to end their hopes of qualifying for the champions league
@@kelvinjr4854 Tot beat Mc have more change to happen than Chelsea win again Tot at this point.
Gabriel is so damn good in each phase of defending
We have to give credit to the originator of this 442 defensive format that overloads the middle and leave the wide men opponents, and that is diego simeone...very disciplined to not be dragged wide because the wide men will still come to the middle..what ange is doing is similar to barca under pep but even that barca team couldn't break athletico easily because of this same defensive system
Lmao are you joking. Go do research this is embarrassing. 442 has been the blueprint for the greatest Italian teams of all time and Mourinho's Inter as well as his 1st Chelsea stint😂😂😂
@@awonkemsutu3866 hahaha hahaha..everyone who watches football know that(one of the oldest formations)..it doesn't have to be stated because I assume everyone knows that..I just like the application of Diego someone compared to Mourinho Chelsea at that time...
@@marvinezekiel8825 you said the originator of 442 was Simione you joekman. Now you're acting slick and changing your words😂😂
@@awonkemsutu3866 oh apologies it was an oversight..guess I was focused on his unique application of 442 cos trust me his application was unique..
I concur, tactically pretty even. Postecoglou lost it on Set piece defending. Spurs were supposed to put someone on Ben White during corner kicks so that he doesn't distruct Vicario who didn't seem to have much command of the 6 yard area so White's presence made it worse
Trying to recreate arteta and ange on fm is an absolute nightmare lmao
😂😂
Ange inverted Wb was the meta on fm 22
Biggest positive for spurs is van de ven ...bro s got a real raw pace ....outpaced martinelli couple of times
I mean he’s literally the fastest player that the prem has seen in decades.
@@Prodelemlol load of waffle auba played in the prem prime salah and mane as well van de ven made 1 recovery on martinelli and one on havertz but guess what he’s had 2 weeks rest how did he do vs Newcastle with the pace
Tottenham will be scary next season with more quality The non stop speed with which they play makes them scary when they have the right players
Yes Tottenham will be scary even for Tottenham fans themselves 😂😂 the non stop speed with which they concede the goals speed they get injured and go to the hospital makes them scary for us fans too...
Well this style has been found out. Mikel exposed ange just like Newcastle did not long ago.
@@ThayefKfeel like Arsenal were very lucky and living on edge sitting back. The Raya mistake near the end did not help at all but in the first half had they not missed those chances Arsenal would've been in a very different position and could've lost considering Tottenham were just pushing in the first half.
@@kelvinjr4854they really didn't get clear chances though
@@kelvinjr4854Spurs were way better than Arsenal. Ange's system is solid. Just needs 2 more transfer windows.
I think a trick Ange missed in this game is instead of inverting Ben Davies he should have played him hugging the touchline and should have moved to a 4 2 1 3 with the wide forwards receiving between the lines and the pivots of not Hojberg and Bentancur but Bissouma and Bentancur. Where ideally Bisoumma could have come deep alongside the two centre-backs and been this ball carrier through the press and Bentancur and Maddinson could have easily still been maintaining the double pivot. The limitations of Ben Davis was exposed and Ange should have not put Brennan Johnson on the wing. This system would have been helpful with clever positional movements because Ben Davies can always drop deep if need be. Moving Son out wide should have been implemented much earlier given him 1v1 abilities
Bissouma is injured. Otherwise he starts for sure!
If Ange has at least 2 CBs and a DM who are fast, solid and tall (example: Saliba, Gabriel and Rice) then this risky tactics with high line and commit a lot of players forward might work.. And i'm surprised even though Arteta knew he would play counterattack, he didn't play a fast player like Martinelli from the start..
And you know how shxt is M11 performance coming up from bench? Lol
@@DeclanGonner on the pitch, yes.. But this vid is about tactics so i want answer from tactical approach too.. Besides, the focus on first half is to defend deep and counter attack so on theory it's basic to use fast winger like Martinelli.. While the second half focus is just to defend and see out the match so winger who can waste time by holding the ball well and help the defence is better choice.. But yeah, Martinelli this season isn't good at all compared to last season.. Is it because there is no Xhaka? Or maybe because Zinchenko doesn't playing much?
@@DeclanGonneryeah his performances have been shit recently but come on, had he started from the start a lot of Tottenham players would've committed very early. Kulesevski had to commit a professional foul on him when he came on because he was on his back. Another reason is Arsenal do not have Xhaka no more and Zinchenko doesn't play no more. Whenever those two played they used to release him early to get him to run in behind and cause havoc. That's his strength. Now Arsenal attacks on one side only. That's through the right. If you watch games he sometimes gets frustrated at not being played through early.
Great explanation
So all in all he pressed the wrong center back. Saliba is Mr cool and I saw him dribble past maddison and Son a couple of times. But then again it doesnt matter which defender you press, with Havertz and Saka 1v1 against Davies we always had the option to bypass the press.
Aside once video analyzer What software did u used for ur board analysis??
Spurs were really good and very much better at second balls and pressing, makes sense since they have like 20 days to rest and prepare. Ofcourse Arsenal being clinical and exploiting weaknesses made them the winners...
4:26 This is exactly what Expressions was going on about. "High line like Sadio Mane"😂😂😂
😂😂
simple and precise analysis without many side stories, i enjoyed it
Postecoglu as coach is extremely good. Seeing him implementing that tactic is just insane.
I've only seen the highlights but Spurs were 0-3 down within just over half an hour and this video is almost making it seem like Ange got it right tactically. I'd hate to see what happened if he got it wrong then! Ok they got back into the game to some extent but it seems to be giving him a bit too much credit. Also Van de Ven is going to get injured again if his tactics involve two at the back forced to constantly chase back. In the same way I don't think Man U's injury crisis is only down to bad luck; having to constantly chase back in a panic probably puts a lot of stress on the players' bodies.
Hmmm Thats a different way of looking at it ... won't have thought that
Ange did get it right tactically Arsenal were unusually clinical and defended amazingly for the most part aside from an error or two.
If you made it to the end of the vid you would of heard that Arsenal were clinical and Spurs weren't that isn't down to any tactical failing from Postecoglu.
@@giftcardoso2712he is making defenders run into the penalty box to shoot instead of forwards... Plays a high line exposes the defense always and opposite teams have already cracked open ange already.... And this season mind you we are just playing pl next season if we go into cl or europa League.. How many games do you think we will be playing.... Humongous amount.... Fa Cup carrabao pl cl.... Do you think players can take this ange's high pressure cooker strategy.... I guarantee you they are going to break apart ( the players) ... It worked in Scottish league but it won't in premier League..
@@bna919no he didn't. Arsenal looked far more threatening when each time they attacked which led to set pieces which were poorly defended against. In the 2nd half, arsenal even had better control and possession and caved out opportunities to extend the 3-0 lead before raya's moment of madness and Rice's loss of concentration.
Banger match, tottenham need a set piece coach yesterday. Arsenal might only finish 2nd but they deserve 1st, going to come down to the wire.
This is the toughest match I've watched Al season. Both managers and players showed strength, resilience, will to win and fight, character and spiritt. They both deserved to win. I give arterta ~ 9.5 and postcoglou ~ 9.5

Amazing analysis.
Spurs honestly making Raya look like prime Neur especially those abject average crosses from Johnson that Raya was just collecting ffs 😒
Wingers/fullbacks couldn’t cross to save their lives… shame really😓
Raya no 1 in league for crosses collected.. he don't just collect shi lofted balls .. having a keeper like that makes such a difference
You can take more time if that helps you to create more quality videos, cos I don't understand what this is
why did you private the vid man?
He didn't
If we can get more signings for the next season, and Ange can tweak his tactics a bit especially on defense, I think Spurs can have a better chance next time around.
The problem is …. Arsenal won’t stay still either. They can still improve with a striker and the return of Timber, who can go to left back. Arteta wont settle
@@PaddyMac True. But hopefully we can win out on the “nuclear arms race” against Arsenal in terms of who can adapt faster to the other.
I don't think many players even want to come to Tottenham in the 1st place ... Ever Noticed the long duration it takes the club to declare the signing.... The struggle is real... Next season so many players will look to go to city arsenal Liverpool... We will again get players but not high caliber players... Maybe players that can just play their duty time off... Nothing will be achieved at the end of it all
@@legendarygamer6689 That’s fair. But in a more positive light, it shows that people that do sign up are really in it to play/win for Spurs.
@@SoonYoungKim_94 play and win.... Not to offend you my friend but what have we achieved or won in the last decade.... Nothing.....Tottenham players get burned out at the end everytime... I am not saying they are not playing.... I don't see any aura of champions like when we see city or madrid or Liverpool when they play... I don't know how to put in words but I think you might have got my point...

Partey is press-resistant.
Why don't you do other leagues🤔
Considering TOT had full week to prep for this game, their performance was not good
Be”N”tancur. Otherwise great video.
the whole PL is just many teams trying to play the game of 1 team. Guardiola is the Master
I want spurs to beat city so much I’d even wear a spurs jersey to support them on the day 🫣
❤️👏👏👏❤️
Arsenal and Newcastle beat Spurs with low possession. They used fast counter attacks with spurs high press this is their only weakness.
I like your fair assessment of both teams. Arsenal won but they would have conceded if the game went on a few more minutes. Spurs were also unlucky with Van De Ven's goal being ruled out and Romero's header hitting the bar. It was a great game overall.
As you rightly said, Ange is crazy. I think he believes this is the Australian league😂. How can I seasoned coach fail to adapt in a league as competitive as the epl? Playing high line and only thinking of attacking in every game is lame, and has become Spurs Achilles heel. The question is when is Ange going to learn? Ability to adapt, game by game, is what sets Arteta above Ange. Thanks for a wonderful analysis
So its Ange's mistake after all.
All city have to do is loose a point and it's over for them
think arsenal will break last season score points
This might have been closer than the last north London derby
Ange did well and outplayed Arteta tactically even though Arsenal goals came from the set-piece masterclass and an individual error from Hojbjerg but this shows how Poch tactically is outdated and useless
Outplayed arteta tactically 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Spurs will win something under Ange
Who tf goes full out mojo attack with davies making a run into the box..... 😂😂😂😂absolute joke... Even tactically... No way sorry you are just overhyping Ange making a defender run inside instead of a forward... Leaving just 2 ppl at the backline to defend....i would have never hired this guy as my manager... Some Tottenham fans do ok fine but whenever i see ange i don't feel any aura or class from him... One dimension monotonous aggressive manager thats it
Yeah it's risky and unconventional but it was probably their best bet at unlocking Arsenal. The fullbacks are not Trent or Cancelo they aren't going to find a killer ball from deep so pushing them super high to try and open up Arsenal was a decent idea and it meant that the wingers could get in 1v1s over and over again. Arsenal defending so deep also limited their threat on the counter.
@@bna919 porro can play killer passes bro what you on about ? instead of making two fullbacks run inside why not make kulu and werner run inside and fullbacks remain on the flanks mm.... Porro would have had more freedom at the right flank and he is better than kulu at the flanks from my view point and would delivered more danger crosses with werner son kulu Maddison all running inside which is more threatening than couple of defenders running inside the box
@@legendarygamer6689 because Arsenal were extremely deep and narrow throwing more bodies in the box wouldn't do much considering the height difference. Son Maddison Werner and Kulu arent going to leap and make a smashing header are they. Kulu wasn't even on the wing at that time. The defenders weren't running into the box they were running into the half space to try to deliver a low cross
@@legendarygamer6689 They gave Porro space to deliver a killer ball and he didn't
@@bna919 he did sometimes cross only son make proper offensive runs as he is a proper forward making the run rest making runs inside won't make the proper offensive run like davies and all that's why saliba and gabriel found it easy to intercept all the incoming crosses because only son was potential danger others are not threatening in the box

His one of our own 😂😂
the most obvious thing to me is that Arteta's system is near perfect, but his backline is formed of children picking up the ball in open play, drinking water outside the field in open play, Raya can't make a right pass, they're full of unprofessional mistakes yet they barley concede anything it's ironic
