Josh Brolin has definitely read the books.
no it was just a stupid question
@@brandoncamarillomusicLol how the interviewer asked him a question geared towards the movie and the way it made it seem. It’s definitely easy to assume his character died in the first film off camera after the Harkonnens attacked
I would genuinely hope that most people involved in this project would read the books if they hadn’t prior.
normies suplexed by based Brolin. More at 11
@@sixpackchad That's too high of a bar nowadays...
So what Josh is saying about sand is that it's rough...and coarse...and it gets everywhere?
Another villain arc has begun
It gets into crevices where it does not belong!
it's also irritating...
I need brolin says that with his thanos voice
Gets sent to desert planet ✅ does not like sand ✅ Loses his family✅ gets injured and nearly dies✅ fights against the evil people who killed his family✅ takes control of the planet and instilling a new emperor✅ now fighting against the rest of the galaxy with the his new emperor✅ well it looks like he's dark vader and luke combined
He absolutely owned this role. A psychotic smart antagonist.
He actually came across as somebody who MIGHT be likable under the right circumstances...like when he's not actively psychotic.
Such a shame he was only around for 1 movie.
I love the scenes where shit is going down and he is just standing on the sidelines looking at the horrible stuff happening with great interest.
@@Turboy65 At least that part would be somewhat true to the books. Feyd was supposed to be presented as a preferable, more likeable alternative to Rabban, at least in the Baron's view.
I was surprised he wasn't in the first movie, but the 2nd was so good at fleshing his character that it felt like we always knew him
That synchronized "Oh no, nah" was adorable :)
Just came from the cinema, he killed the role. This dude is destined for great things, he keeps it up he will be in the class of Di Caprio, Denzel Washington and Anthony Hopkins League
absolutely
Yes definitely
@@LeiasartI mean… that‘s what Leo does, so they got that in common, too, right?
Heard he's pretty good in Masters of the Air miniseries
@@LeiasartHe's with someone who is 22 years old. That isn't "barely an adult". They're both adults. There is no issue. Get over yourself.
Honestly when watching the film I couldn't stop looking at how symmetrical Austin's face was. It was kinda entrancing.
I love how Olivia was like nah OFF with the HAIR!! 😂
HAHAHAHAHHA
😂😂😂😂😂😂
It’s really not that bad to have a bald head. I’ve done it.
So amazing
@@annaburns2865It's just the social stigma that goes with it. Watch Brolin. The first thing he mentions about meeting Austin in make-up is him being bald, and what he means is the immense disappointment/revulsion he felt as a first impression.
The entire black and white sequence start to finish with the introduction of Feyd Rautha was sublime ! ❤
Props into the makeup team, incredible work
Loved Austin in this movie. Played the character so well and with dignity
with dignity lol
@@outsidethepyramidyeah such a dignified way he licked the sharp part of the knife blade and called Chani a “pet.”
He played the role well but I don't think dignity is the right word lol.
the amount of talent on this couch is unbelievable, this is why Graham is the best in the business
Josh Brolin doing a good Anakin Skywalker impression. "I hate sand... it gets everywhere..."
Darth guerney
He absolutely killed it as Feyd-Rautha.
“You humiliated our family! You humiliated me! Kiss or die!” 👿👿👿💀💀💀(Feyd-Rautha)
lol
It’s a bit awkward how close Austin is leaning toward Josh and how much he’s leaning away 😂
Came here to say this. That body language. What the heck was that all about?
Think it's just the camera angle makes it seem like that
The low-backed couch makes every halfway-tall person either lean forward, or lean back awkwardly. It's been a staple of the show for years, but I've often wondered if they would ever replace it with something more comfortable. Even after the Covid-era change of scenery, when they came back to normal, the same couch returned. If Austin is going to lean on the back of the couch, he has no choice but to lean in that direction. And if Josh is going to lean on the back of the couch, he has no choice but to lean in that direction. They seem to have a good rapport; I wouldn't read anything into it.
If Brolin sat straight up, he wouldn't be able to see Norton. You can see at 2:14 how he has to lean back to see what's on the screen. It's dictated by the way the seating's done
1:32 😂😂
I must say, I've always been used to seeing him on shows such as Ned's Declassified, Zoey 101, Hannah Montana. Now he's tackling roles such as Elvis, Dune, The Bikeriders... I've got to give it to him! He's got a huge career coming ahead!
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The casting for this movie was beyond fantastic
Love this guy. Such a good actor
Indeed!
When not one but two oscar winners immediate reaction is "f**k that", you need to reevaluate your choices. 😅
Nah it's just that they have nothing to prove at this point, so they don't need to bother with that stuff anymore 😂
@@romilrh No, it really is 'that's too much'
@@Tao_Tology when they were younger and with fewer Oscars, they might've endured it
@@romilrh ....is certainly a collection of words.
Tell that to Gary Oldman: 4 hours a day in the makeup chair for Darkest Hour. Or Jessica Chastain: 4-7 hours a day for Eyes of Tammy Faye. Seems like long days of makeup is what wins Oscars 😭😭😭
オースティン・バトラー、もはやフェイド・ラウサのビジュのが好きで困る なんでこのコンセプト似合うの???? 魅力的すぎる
Olivia is such an active listener I love that I can hear her reactions to everything they say 😂❤
i wish my man looked at me the way Austin is looking at Josh here.
The body language is uncomfortable looking, the way he's leaning in so close and Josh Brolin is leaning back away from him.
He killed it (pun intended) and he has such a nice voice wow.
dune part 2 is a piece of art..
I'm loving all the Aunties on the couch
MOVIE WAS AMAZING JUST LEFT THE IMAX
Jodie and Olivia need to be in a movie together. I see Wanda's on the couch too, get her in that hypothetical film as well.
Make it something like the Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon "A Trip To" movies and you've already sold me a ticket.
Olivia's reaction 🤣😂 give her another Oscar plz 😄
Why? She didn’t deserve the first one
@@FactsDontCareAboutFeelings_97 what????
😱💄 The makeup transformation for Austin Butler's role in Dune 2 looks absolutely cursed! Can't wait to see the final result on the big screen! 🎬🌌
Austiiiiinnnnn
This guy would make an amazing voldemort for a reboot
very truee and James Bond
"Can you please not shave your head" - I honestly respect Austin Butler for staying true to another film. Especially if it's from Jeff Nichols.
He looks like voldemort ❤😂🎉😢😮😅
Nosed Voldemort
Nah man Voldemort is way more intense
@@RequiemUnkown no but Austin certainly can act as Voldemort if... IF, Harry Potter is remade as a film series or... TV series somewhen in the future. For now he's still too young to be Voldemort after resurrection. He's just short of competing with Bill Skaarsgard for the role though IMO (because they definitely can play horror movie psychos very well).
He looked more like Deadpool in X-Men origins wolverine
disagree voldemort looked lame@@RequiemUnkown
Literally thought it was Jeff Bridges. Ima have to look up Josh Brolin after this. 😂
You would be really confused watching "True Grit"
You mistaken for the second time; this guy is Charles Bronson.
bro is thanos
Jeff is obviously way older than Josh. You've never seen The Goonies?
The son of James Brolin. He's Thanos, second main role in "Hollow man" 2000, young (well, younger) agent K in MIB-3, the main protagonist in "No Country For Old Men" (btw. here his buddy Javier Bardem in Dune), Oscar nomination for supporting role in "Milk" (haven't seen that). Josh is almost the whole 20 years younger that Bridges
Now that's a couch!
❤🌎😎🥰 austin butler
Lmao love this
Such a short role but he played it great
Haha brilliant!!
‘…may your blade, chip and shatter!’
Still no comma in that sentence. Ever.
I’ll admit, he wasn’t bad looking as Feyd Rautha. Like a charming psychopath 😂
Miles better than Sting in iron panties, that's for sure 🤣
i was sitting the entire movie feeling like i recognised that guy and i only just now realised that he and elvis are the same person. im baffled
omg a movie with Tom Hardy AND Austin 🫠🫠
Austin was the best part of the film
Get you someone who looks at you the way Austin looks at Josh.
Voldermot with a nosy twist
He looks like Jason when he's drowning in the first 13th movie lol
I love how Josh accidentally thought he is getting criticized for being bad in the first one. No, sir, you were exzellent!
Realistic bald caps are notoriously difficult to pull off! (And by "pull off," of course I mean, "put on." English is a funny language, lol!) Having seen the film, I could tell they did something to his eyebrows, but I assumed that he had shaved his head. Surely it would have been easier for him to wear a wig in his next film, than mess around with a whole prosthetic bald cap in this one? Different budgets, maybe. And the eyebrow piece could be seamlessly one with the bald cap; that could have its advantages, too, I suppose. Mostly it's getting the neck to look right! Making sure that the prosthetic- as exquisitely sculpted as something like this is- doesn't wrinkle in the wrong way, in a way than neck skin isn't supposed to- is a tricky thing to get just so! These days there are also Digital Touch-up tools that can help with things like edges and wrinkles. But that does add another layer of time and work and expense! He looked incredible; very creepy, very villainous.
The females on the panel are like “Nah, not happening!” 😂
It's funny how Austin is leaning so much and Thanos is like.... well I have to lean extra hard now.
The more I watch of him, the more I'm a fan.
well I watched the trailer after I saw the movie and the trailer shows Josh's character is alive which is crazy.
Austin is going to a beast of an actor
Que simpático el Thanos
its so amazing to me how little people talk about josh, ive been watching him in movies since the goonies man, that is old school
I mistook Austin Butler for Bill Skarsgard in that white make up xD Them in baldform and painted white.. their face shape (and bottom lip) are so similar!
They could have asked anything but they asked " how you got bald?"
As an 80 year old man, Wyatt Russell is the spitting image of Kurt. I know this is not a connection many can make, but honestly brings me back to the good old days to watch videos of him now
Ok, you're not wrong, but neither Kurt nor Wyatt are on the couch in this clip. You may have accidentally left this on the wrong video
I love that all Dune costumes are basically wetsuits
*Still suits
God Austin is hot af
To those unaware, the coliseum fight scene was filmed in infrared
What is that mean
@@borris3768 It means the cameras were set to pick up low frequency infra red spectrum of light rather than visible - like our eyes do. Hence the otherworldly, creepy, plastic monochromatic picture we saw.
@@Badchi It was so cool!
@@Badchi Wait I wonder how that's actually what we will see if we're living with an IR-emitting sun like on that planet. Straight up exactly monochrome and we will never recognise colour as they are?
@@MollyHJohns if it’s only IR emitting we wouldn’t see anything, pitch black
Josh Brolin doesn't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating... and it gets everywhere.
I kept seing that name " Austin Butler" all over and I couldn´t for the life of me remember that name before, or his face. People talking about him on shows like we all know who he is. After watching this move I will probably feel like "now I will know who that person is"
Ehhh it's because he kind of recently exploded in Hollyweird before this one with Elvis. If you're not a fan of Elvis then you won't know an Elvis film exists, therefore Austin XD
@@MollyHJohns He played Elvis? Huh, I can´t see it. No I know there is a movie, my mother´s dude is a really , really, bnig fan of Elvis so I absolutely know that there is one. I really don´t recognize him at all though

Austin
How exactly is it cursed? Did it summon Voldemort on the set?
lord of the rings level prosthetics
Josh Brolin so funny 😂😂😂😂

Same! Watching the movie I constantly thought "who IS that and WHERE have I seen him?" I considered Bill for the longest of times
Its crazy how good this makeup is. When i see it i remember the better call saul part where they brought Bryan Cranston back and his head looked huge and stupid but here it looks like hes genuenly bald
"He was in his trailer" 😂😂
Josh was like 3 hours haha you should've been there for Thanos makeup
OMg just realized he would make a great Voldemort. If they ever did a Voldemort backstory movie
Sting should have been there too. That would be a show to watch.
Between 1984 and 2024, they still didn't improve the comfort of the stillsuit wearers. Still (Yeah, it's an unavoidable pun.) made of neoprene, still hot as hell, still 100% unlike the how stillsuits are described to feel in the books.
So wait movie 1 and 2 r only book 1? And there r 28 books so r we getting multiple trilogies of just dune? Cause I'd be happy with that this is a fantastic book/movie series I just can't get enough of that universe
Frank Herbert only wrote six books, of which the first four are generally considered the best and most plot-relevant. The others were written by his son Brian and the author Kevin J Anderson, two of which were based on Frank's unfinished final book, and the rest most being prequels. They are generally considered to be of much lower quality and to contradict a lot of what his father wrote, although even with Frank's work there seems to be a consensus that his later books were not as good as his first few either. Also, some sources say there are 28 books, others say 26 and others 23. I think the higher numbers count encyclopaedias, comics, short stories and the like.
@jonathancampbell5231 oh wow thanku for the reply I did not know all that, either way I do enjoy the current 2 movies and anxiously await the next cinematic installment
The goal is to make a third movie and leave it there. And honestly I feel like that's probably a good plan because it finishes out Paul's story.

You spent a lot of time defending Austin in this comment section, it’s not that deep bro
Simp.. 🤦🏻♂️
Reminds me of that alien movie.
I still hear Elvis in his voice
That’s an amazing bald cap
Austin is Elvis in my head still.
I’m so used to movies not being true to the books.
The makeup artist was inspired by Sam Brinton.
but anyone who watched the first movie would know that Gurney is alive cause Paul finds him in the first movie, and when feyd/sting fights Paul Gurney says " This is a Harkonnen animal! Let me. Please, my lord" or am I mixing up the wrong character
Wait but in the Lynch's Dune he also survived.
The irony that the stillsuit that's suppose to keep you alive in hot desert environments make it unbearable IRL while filming Dune lol
Those two are probably still finding sand in places
No he is not wake up!
Cary Elwes
But does he wear plastic speedos that look like wings in the movie?
No, but Sting did offer a chance for him to wear them. Austin politely declined.
If Thanos thinks sand is coarse and rough and irritating and gets everywhere, why didn't he get rid of it when he snapped his fingers
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why is butler leaning so hard into brolins space?
it gets into crevasses it doesn't belong. As Gurney says to the Duke, " To shower, you wipe your ass with sand"
Almost look like Voldemort, but with a missing snake nose
Elvis and thanos
Why does Austin give Johnny Depp vibes. I think it's the way he speaks.
0:30 they could've just had him wear a wig, which I assume is way easier to apply.
