  • Thank you so much for the workaround! This actually worked for me. From one day to the other my watch just wouldn't charge anymore (even though it showed the green snake upon connecting to the charger).   • YOU ARE “THE MAN”.I let mine sit for about a day and a half until no snakes appeared. Then put it on the charger, and Bingo, everything came back to life. Originally the watch was left on the charger for about a week. Apparently this is how the watch determines a battery overcharge. Thank you, thank you, thank you...It WORKS...

  • Thank you Robert!!! Apple should pay you something!! This tutorial worked just fine. I even had a report made by Apple and after various days the final solution with them was change battery or the whole watch. I really enjoy Apple and was the first time that I experienced malfunction with the Apple Watch, but that radical solutions is why so many customers complain about Apple so much. Thank you again and greetings from Mexico. USA and Mexico are brothers. We must never forget that.

  • Literally tried this last night after watching this video a couple days ago and letting my watch completely die. It finally died so I put it on the charger last night woke up this morning and it was working again! Just came back to leave a like and comment and to thank you! 100% works!!

  • Hi, this was helpful. Thanks for the video. I have series 4. The battery started draining off too quickly lasts not even a whole day despite charging it completely. It shows the same red n green charging screen. I followed ur tip. Waited for the battery to drain completely. But when I put for charging it charged to 100% too quickly maybe in just 30 minutes. And again it drained off too quickly n I had not even used it throughout the day. I even unpaired n paired my watch. Could you please provide any inputs on this situation?

  • Thank you! I just bought one of the Amazon Renew series 4 watches and this had the green snake of death and I was freaking out. I knew a few people in the reviews on Amazon said this happened and they had to send it back. You just saved me from having to return this. Works like a charm!

  • Omg I turned on my Apple Watch (or tried at least) after not charging or using it for a couple of weeks just for it to not turn on. I followed this step by step and it actually worked thank you so much! I cannot complain AT ALL since this actually worked but this guide did require lots of patience but it’s better than paying $300.

  • This worked for me!! i have the series 6 and it wasn’t charging for months, it had already been fully dead so i unpaired my watch and it actually worked! saved me a lot of money on fixing it :)

  • Holy moly you are a legend, it worked. I’m absolutely shocked and delighted. I haven’t had my watch working for 18 months, thinking it was cactus. I pulled it out yesterday to see if it would charge and no surprises, it had the red/green snake of death. I tried charging it for several hours and nothing, I started searching on KZhead and after watching several videos, I stumbled on your video. So I took the watch off charge, let it die, put it back on charge this morning and to my amazement it’s charging with the nightstand mode on and displaying the charging progress ring. Thank you so much, you’ve saved me $$$

  • My wife just bought me a series 4. And it’s doing same thing. So thank you for this. Hope it works just trying it now. Update - I kept clicking the power button every 5 seconds till it completely died for 4 hours. Then put it on my wife’s charger and it works perfect now. Had to go replace the apple charger that came with mine.

  • Man thank you so much. My apple watch has been “broken” for a whole year. Been sitting at the bottom of my drawer since last summer. I found it & figured I give it one last shot. The key is to let it die & unpair your phone. The second I unpaired my phone it started to charge! Liked & subscribed immediately 🙌🏽

    • brendon is a holy bean well idk wth is going with my watch😫 it’s been dead for a year, and when I picked up it did nothing I tried to hard reset and it didn’t work! At this point I know it’s completely dead so I did like he said and put on the charger when I go to sleep but I also saw where it said try taking it off the charger for a while and then put it back on! So me being me I did that🙄 😂 so maybe I should just leave on there because if the watch is anything like the phone, if it’s been dead for a while it’s going to take a while to charge!😌

  • Wow! I think this may have worked for me too! My watch came back to life this morning after two days on the charger with the Green Snake Of Death. I had followed your steps exactly but was still worried because the green snake was still there. If I took the watch off the charger, the red snake immediately appeared, leaving me to think it just would not hold any charge and then suddenly it was ON this morning! I am restoring and hoping it holds the charge good. Thanks! Any idea why this happens?

    • It happened with me too. The problem is that the charging round plate provided in box isn’t strong enough to jump start the now dead watch. All you need to do is connect the charging cable to a more powerful charging block. The default is 2amps but connect it to an ipad or the mac charger block. Even oneplus charging block will work. Once you have connected it you will see the apple logo appear after a min or two. Leave it like that for 5 odd minutes and you are good to go.

  • This happened to me yesterday with my Apple 3 42 mm watch. I had just turned on airplane mode, and switched off WiFi & Bluetooth because I saw my watch had a low battery of 12% & I wanted it to charge quickly (in the morning). So when I checked on it at night, after it had been charging ALL day it was DOWN to 3% power, I took it off the charger & then it jumped between 2% then 1% within a minute. At that point it became stuck in the low power mode & I couldn’t power off or force power off (No snake on the screen yet). So I tried putting it on the charger, and the charge symbol only changed color to green, so I decided to take it off & instead kept pushing the crown to light up the screen to drain the battery (it kept switching to standby/blank screen) & after a day of persistence, the “snake” appeared! But thanks to this video, I was prepared. I continued with what I was doing & until the battery drained out completely. Then I just waited a few minutes to confirm the battery status & then I put it back on its charger. As mentioned in the video, from a red snake it became a green snake BUT I just left it on the charger overnight & in the morning it was back to normal! (No unpairing, rebooting, or resetting was done nor required for me). Thanks a lot for making the video! My watch is Apple Watch 3 GPS only running watchOS 6.1.1 & is ready to update to 6.1.2

  • This happened to my watch twice. This fix worked both times! I had to wait three days for it to completely die but then I fully charged it using a regular Apple brand charger. Success! When I started re-charging I saw the snake again as well but if you let it keep charging it will go away. Thank you so much!

  • Man i never commented on any youtube video but i need to write this one out to thank you!!!! It works!!!! I replaced my battery yesterday and ended up getting this green snake of deaths for 24 hours until I tried this method, you deserve everything good in life man, thank you so goddam much!!!!

Kalau iya apple watchnya didiemin aja (jangan di charge) 1-7 hari sampai kalo tombol powernya dipencet ga muncul apa apa lagi (pencet yang lama) kalau sudah mati total baru deh di charge lagi

  • Apple may not appreciate you, but I do. I changed the battery after mine swelled and popped the face out. I bought a kit on amazon with the gasket and battery and swapped it easily. I followed your instructions but found that the watch would not drain completely (red snake) until I unpaired it from my phone. Once it went dead I placed it on the charger, it displayed the green snake initially. After about an hour it displayed the normal screen. Thank you!

    • Same story here. Just replaced the battery and got the red snake. I’m leaving it on the charger now and hopefully I can repeat what you achieved.

  • I just left it on the charger from a solid outlet and it turned on in around 10 minutes, without doing any of the 48 hr stuff. LOL YAY.

  • I just want to say that thank you, and I’ve tried this method twice but didn’t work before I found your video and the only difference was the unpair from the phone. You said it might be a redundant idea but it’s not, it’s literally what worked for me. I think when the Apple Watch haven’t been connected to the phone for a lunch time , it can recollect the memory of what setting pic and all that. Immediately I unpaired after the method it started rolling like thinking and worked . Thanks a bunch If your Apple Watch is still not working and haven’t tried the unpairing with your iPhone everyone please do because it’s the other thing that made mine work
