Well, they lost their prized defense, that's the biggest reason for their downfall. Their attack/midfield was never great. They lost Barzagli and Dani Alves. Bonnuci also dropped off considerably. Also important to remember that under Alegri everyone had more defensive responsabilities.
They were strong before because they had solid defence and also other serie a teams were not stronger like they are now
These guys need to understand that only defence doesn't help to win a match. They won any ucl with that masterclass defence power??!!! Attack is the best defence and key to win!

Juventus as a club is a prime example of why some teams just can't cut it in the Champions League. They can win the leagues based on favorable refereeing decisions but in CL they just don't get that favoritism handed out over to them.

The real Fault of Juventus is that they are lazy and are really slow after they scored the opener they did not defend it and in the second half they were trying to attack benevento but they passed the ball back to their half and cycle goes on again and again . For all the people saying seria A is farmers league, read this.... AC milan is the second highest winner of UCL, know before saying something. And Serie A can never be farmers league, because their game play is defensive unlike la liga which has attacking gameplay. Even cr7 said seria is the toughest league to score goals because of the defensive gameplay and u can see the amount of goals scored in seria is just 2-3 goals per match unlike la liga or premier league in which they score around 5-6 goals per match.
