  • You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzhead.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.

    • @@HomeProHero if I only had one helpful piece of advice, it would be to include every step just like you did in the beginning. When you showed all of the pieces and how many I would need of that exact size. Because you kept adding throughout the video. And then, when you built the drop-down box you didn’t really show that and so I had to sort of improvise. I am a beginner and so there were a few mistakes. Lol but overall if I could send you a picture I would and I think I did a decent job for my first time. So just slow it down a little bit and please keep including the on screen pop-up measurements the way you did because I feel like that was more than helpful. You definitely got a subscriber.

  • Looked like towards the end of your video you have an orange toy as well LOL. I sure enjoy the orange toy I have, sure makes chores quicker, easier, and less painful on the back. Your workbench build is great. I like how you made the table section for your miter saw fold down out of the way so you have a completely flat table top when you want it. Out of all the workbench videos I've seen I think yours should be the number one choice...I need to build something similar here soon when I get the floor in my shop done, and start putting the tools out there again. I don't have the Dewalt saw so the specs for the table would be different, but I like your design ideas...its not overly complicated to build, but its built heavy to stand up to years of use and abuse. You could easily build this with some drawers or cabinets for storing other tools....excellent build...and you got a new subscriber.

    • Oh yeah the orange toy......Can't live without it! One of the best purchases I have ever made! When I built the house 5yrs ago it was going to cost me 15k to get the yard graded and seeded. I sold my zero turn mower and use the 15k to buy the tractor. My dad and I put the yard in ourselves and I'm a happy tractor owner. I mow my grass with it and it takes awhile but I love mowing so no biggie :)

      @HomeProHero@HomeProHero8 ай бұрын
    • .@@HomeProHero -- Yes to drawers, definitely. And here's another one: you could add a 2 or 2-1/2 foot hinged fold-down extension to the table top in way of your miter saw's outfeed side. You could do that by using hinged arms notched to fit against a chock on the underside of the extension deck to lock it level with your bench top -- or the arms could swing out from under the deck when you pull it up, then they could notch against a chock mounted on the end of the bench. Either way you'd have to add some structure to the framing at that end, but it wouldn't require much.

Lots of room to work on without having to move everything off the table. So, if you wanted to cover up the table saw with a piece of wood, would you be able to do that by dropping the blade, and removing the fence? Seems that would be possible to give even more tabletop space when not using the saw.

  • It worked for me. I have 2 storage rentals 10x30 that i use for a shop All my tools are setup on the walls sp i have a 7 feet x 20 to have a table in and the other unit has almost nothing in it I can use it for staining and painting dust free I set up lightinh and receptical outlets to plug into my 28000 generater. I live in an apartment about .5 mile from my storage. I think its the best setup i could have living as i do in apartment. I have a small shelter i can setup out side if i need that space.

    • Thx for the sub! It's really firm at this point. Not sloppy at all if anything maybe a little too tight. You could always use longer screws into the 2x4 but I thought if the hinge screws can support a door from the side they should be good enough for the saw. Take care!

  • Only thing I'd do different is to make it foldable since I have a very small shop. Also I'd leave an opening under the table saw for wood chips and saw dust to fall through and not build up under it. Of course you can just as easily blow that out after use. Nice work bench and video.

  • Liking the build, the MDF on the top platform might give you a headache eventually. When I built mine, I did the same thing with the MDF. After some time, it'll get that fuzzy texture to it, which makes it impossible for a good cleanup after a project. I had to get a scrap piece of 1/8 " masonite and secure it to the MDF. It's so much better, if I had to do it again, I would use a piece of 3/4 AC plywood for the top. It's just as smooth, but definitely would not weather like the MDF. Again, love the build.

I just wanted to let the viewers know when you do half inch before the plywood clearance measure your plywood because even though it’s classified as half inch it is not half inch so your tablesaw will be a bit short from the main work area.

After looking at the plans is the measurement from front of bench (back side of you on that video )to the surface of 2x4 (palm of hand resting on 2x4) at 4:10 mark 13.5”?
