163 695 Рет қаралды

Adam and Norm unbox two new prop replicas from the Dune films: United Cutlery's recreation of Duncan Idaho's blade from the first film and Insight Editions collectors edition Thumper that accompanies the second film's official making-of book! It's also an excuse to talk about what we loved from the most recent Dune and our hopes for the third movie!
Thanks to United Cutlery and Insight Editions for sending these Dune prop replicas!

  • Adam, you HAVE to make a working thumper, in metal so it has the sound to.

  • For those of you who might be interested... The steel is 3cr13, which would allow you to sharpen it if so desired. "3Cr13 is a stainless steel that offers consumers today a lower price point for fairly good knife performance. It has seen use typically among kitchen knives and some utility tools. It is not the favorite steel among professional chefs or situations where the hardness of the blade is vital. It is a lower-end, low-hardness steel with decent toughness and rust resistance."

I was in a constant state of wonder throughout the two films, with a smile on my face. The cast was wonderfully picked. Timothée Chalamet physical demeanor is the embodiment of Frank Herberts description of Paul. Duncan Idaho the apex Atreides warrior and Gurney... wow... They use that skin because it is naturally rough. The hilt is then wound about with flat silk cord. The ray skin is what looks like white diamond patterns because of the dark silk cording is wound over it in a way that exposes parts of it in those shapes.
