  • I love how Firas is a killer and trainer of killers, but as a world know blackbelt he still tries to be the student. He knows when to listen and learn. Most people in his position would have stopped learning a long time ago with his accomplishments. My wife and I met Karel on a trip to NEW YORK in the blue basement and out of the room full of world-class people he is still a legend among them, but he was still hands down the nicest and most inviting of them all. He visited with us before and after and acted like he knew us forever.

  • Great details! Thanks so much Karel, hopefully I'll get to train with you sometime at StoutPGH! Also, at 16:47, my thought was, block the hip with the right hand, releasing the head with the left and turning clockwise, grab the armpit with the left hand to anchor, block the hips with the right forearm and hip escape to break posture, cinch up the buggy choke. I'm gonna post a video on that soon, I think.

    • Here's me hitting it on Mike Wilkins, but before I learned the hip/knee block-hip escape detail: kzhead.info/sun/fL2dpLWOjJ2dYKM/bejne.html - it would have worked sooner if I'd collapsed his posture and started to roll him over with that lower hand. "This one has some merit." - Mike, at this very moment as the buggy is applied 😂
