Tutorial on how to make a knife with basic tools. This video shows knifemaking basics aswell as some more intermediate techniques to make your knife stand out.
I'm still a beginner myself so feel free to correct me where I'm wrong and leave your tips and tricks in the comments below.

  • Your heat treat , did you use butane or propane ? Because if yoy use butane it will struggle to reach temp so propane is the way to go.Hope this helps .Love the channel by the way.😊👍

  • Very nice work mate , having a proper gas forge is better than using those disposable ones you used. I used to do it that way , then upgraded to a charcoal BBQ then a gas forge with a 9kg bottle. How long have you been making knives for ?.

    • Thank you! I‘m usually using my propane forge for that aswell. Just wanted to show that you can get the job done with cheap tools aswell. Roughly 2 years I‘d say 🤔

  • I have been thinking of doing something like this to make a few higher end woodcarving knives. I know the Flexcut ones look like they started as round stock. I really just don’t have any clue what steel would be best. Or how done does it need to be before sending off to be quenched.
