  • Reason behind the young athletes not listening and learning is from the lack of leadership in coaching. As I former cheerleading coach and collegiate cheerleader it’s better to show and teach physically with the athletes for better performance and ability! I don’t agree with coaches and judges who are in no physical shape and form to tell and judge without having the ability to physically preform a skill let alone verbally request a skill from a athlete that they CANNOT PREFORM themselves!

    • @@esseaem1451 you can tell by looking at the coach in the black shirt, she knows what she’s doing and how to do what they’re doing. Judging by these comments a lot of these girls are regulars so I don’t think they really need the coaches to show them how to do things. It’s just the sticking they seem to be reminding them of a lot. (Just my opinion, I’m not a coach or a cheerleader just a gymnast lol)

I was a very serious athlete, and this is NOT how you build a team of any sort. There is such potential for lifelong strength and character. I'm so old that I still think Bobby Knight was one of the best coaches ever & he was the epitome of tough as nails and take no crap. This is the absolute opposite of anything helpful to these kids. What these adults are doing with their voices is worse than any chair ever thrown.

    @candydogs@candydogs4 ай бұрын
    • Why this is a try out and not a hand holding contest. Obviously you guys think the goal of a sport is to be in last place. I do not see anyone yelling. Basically the acoustic of gym make everything sound louder and it picks up everything so there are lots of backgrounds noise especially when other are talking. Meanwhile kids are not smile tells me they are taking this a lot more serious than you do, because I guess you just think cheerleaders are supposed to just stand out there and be pretty or something. Meanwhile Bobby Knight was alway screaming at his player all the time. Also if you were a serious athlete you would know how try out work. The coaches do not spend time teaching what you are suppose to know. Meanwhile do you think when I ran track we were all smiles when we went on a 10 mile run.

  • The form on every one of these girls is horrendous. And the coaches aren’t giving them valid corrections or feedback to fix their form. Pause the video the moment their hands touch in a back handspring and you will see what I’m talking about. Wrong approach. Bhs not long enough. Undercutting. Hands out or in etc. it’s not that they are “bending their legs” or not keeping them together. It all starts with how they sit…..How they reach ….how they jump and where their hands are placed. Their legs bend because they have to based on what their back and shoulders and gonna do when they jump. They all throw their heads back. They are just throwing the skills. Not executing them safely. This gym needs a qualified tumbling coach to come in and help these girls. Positively

  • This seems pretty consistent with practices of last season, a hot mess. Tryouts should be when everyone is doing their absolute best to show their skills in preparations for the new season. People had attitudes, no one was clean and they just threw their stuff like it was a toddler showcase except toddlers would be smiling unlikes these girls who look like their on their 4th hour of math class. People talking in the background, doing dances and laying like they're watching a movie seems odd for a tryout and distracting. It kills me because the skills could be so great but everything is just so sloppy because it's allowed to be and that's the precedent you are setting for the entire season..again. You guys are losing a lot of your good athletes to Cheer Athletics for a reason. But at least Keri had shoes on today so you are making big strides.

Especially when up in the air like that. They must be beginners at this. They'll get better in time. Definetly got to be paying attention.

    @deborahpollard1997@deborahpollard1997 Жыл бұрын
    • Cheer is the sport with the most injuries. It's worse than football. Falling from the top of a tower can be deadly. Missing a handspring or flip can result in a lifetime of back/neck pain. Practice, strength and a culture of safety is necessary. An individual can achieve the first 2 but the last is reliant on the whole gym/system.

  • From watching a few of CUC videos, I'm now understanding and agreeing with a lot of the comments on their videos. The new faces as well as the old faces just don't follow up with having discipline when it comes to practice. Old habits are constantly repeating themselves; just at the first 5 minutes into the video and Coach Black has had to tell them finish clean numerous times, despite her telling the girl that ent before them. The attitudes is another thing, my gosh. It's honestly exhausting to watch. The girls have great skills but the just wont hone them. Those that do, amazing job to them. We as viewers get on average 20- 25 minutes of footage to watch, just imagine whats its like in real time. I'm almost sure that if the coaches were to get more strict, there would be people commenting that they're being too harsh on the kids. I'm hoping that its a different change (positive) this season because I'm already a bit worried.

  • Great posture when they do there jumps, stunts and when they tumble will prevent them from injury! So they need to be tight point toes and keep there heads up! But overall there doing great I miss and love cheerleading especially competitive❤
