On this adventure I take my Land Rover Discovery 1 for a solo off road run through some fun trails in my area.
The trail gets more difficult as the video progresses. Going on these solo mid week runs is one of my favourite things so I hope you enjoy it!
Keeping it simple just going out and living life. Love it!
Not a Landrover fan but very impressed that you did this by yourself with out these bloody spotters that we see in other videos I can see now why landrover has big windows it’s to lean out and look at the track Well done to you enjoyed it very minimal wheel slipping and no bloody powering through ruts but change of angle and try again you showed how it should be done with minimal damage to track and vehicle
Thank you!
Well done buddy, cool vid, I like the new style of no narratives and little music, just a Tdi doing its thing!
Yep!
wow what a great video dude - absolutely loved the "silence." Thought you were tipping over for sure at 6:43 !!
It looks like it is on an angle but it can lean quite bit more before it tips!
Great time. I wish we would've got the diesel here in the states.
Love the simplicity of the video and the capabilities of the disco shown without having a heavy foot on the accelerator. Also love the lift! I’m thinking I might have to increase mine an inch or 2
Thank you, land rovers need to be treated with love and respect as I am sure you know 😉. Giving it a few more inches in the rear and bigger tires transformed the way it looks. It also drives great on road as the front has only been lifted 2.5
Btw I was watching your video on changing the wheel bearings last week. I did mine a few days ago
@@TheUntraveledPath ahh brill! Hope it was of some help to you 👍
@@TheNorthernExplorer yep it definitely was
Clean, smooth, precise drive, well done 👍
Very nicely filmed Thank you
Thank you!
Fantastic machines in my experience training on 4x4 unit standards in South Africa. I'm a huge fan for very good reason.
Agreed! The TDi music is enough!
Yes, great cars
Very nice video, v good quality thank you
Hello. You went to a lot of effort to create this video. Greatly appreciated. Thank you for sharing.
Thamk you for watching!
Nice tdi action 👍
Great video mate!
Stinking impressive.
very good.! Enjoy the machine and explore this beautiful nature. I have one and I love it!!
Thank you!
Loved the vid - again :) Impressive driving skills, nice vehicle and Cyprus looks epic (Y)
Thank you!
I do agree
I was wondering where this was filmed, it looks a lot like Australia
best video of a land rover disco 1, mine its a 2 doors and i love it, great driving skills mate.
Thank you mate!
Awesome vids man! Keep them coming! I love my 300Tdi, best vehicle I ever owned. 🚜💨 Lockers should be next. Then shafts, then gears and the list goes on 😂🤑
Hahaha yep! Thank you!
Ahhhhhh, a man after my own heart. I've owned a Series 3 Safari 6 cylinder sidevalve, a Series 2 ex military radio 88" with a Chevy 2.5 (bad idea, keep it standard) and a 110 Defeder County Station Wagon 2.5 td5 ( fantastic!). Need a disco tdi now
I really want a 90 Td5!
So nice video!!!! Great job man!!!!!!
Thank you!
You've got a skill, man!
Thank you!
Did you lock your CDL the whole time after airing your tires down?
Yes I did
A video on your trimming to fit the 285s would be much appreciated. Super clean rig keep up the good work.
Thank you. I was planning on making this video so I will probably have it out by next week.
@@TheUntraveledPath I have 285’s and a three inch lift. I did a camel cut but it still rubbed terribly at full stuff off road.
@@ktrudeau340 mine rubbed as well. I have a 4 inch lift in the rear and now it does not rub. You can solve your issue by installing longer bump stops that will stop the will from tucking in the arch
Proper job
Thank you
Nice! More disco vids.
They are coming!
Does your truck have lockers? Great vid, nice truck.
Thank you, no it doesn't
Hey! Compared to 2.0 mpi, the 300 tdi is stronger I guess?? Easy to find parts?
Yes, easy to find parts and more powerful
which parts you use for lift suspension ?
Hm 4x4 +6cm lift for a Defender. In the rear it also has 4cm coil spacers
how many inches is the Disco lifted and what are the dimensions of the tires? thank you😊
4 inches in the rear and 2.5 in the front. Tires are 285/75r16
@@TheUntraveledPath I'm thinking of buying the Coopers in that size. Are there any rubbing issues?
@@rogermellie8068You will need to do a fairly big camel cut. However, if you do it well I think it is worth it. The car looks and performs much better now
@@TheUntraveledPath ref. your tyres. I use 205/85 16 Jumbo on my discovery. Excellent mud terrains. I recommend them to anyone who needs them for work or pleasure
Is that 4 inch lift with 285 55 16? I'm at a 2-inch lift with heavy duty springs but I would like to go to a 4-inch lift I'm just worried the Springs will be even stiffer. How do people build these really soft articulating rides? Seems like some of the best articulation I have seen is on the factory set up but I just want something with much more travel and a 4in lift to do the same soft articulating as the factory set up and I don't know how to achieve that. Seems like everything is stiffer when you go higher. Amazing video by the way I like all the camera angles and how it was mostly driving instead of talking like some of them talk too much. I really need to get someone to help me because the few video clips I have are of some of the easiest stuff I did when I first got my truck and since then using this off-road app I've done some really really technical Jeep trails over here with very steep Rocky dangerous stuff and major axle twisters but never really caught any on Tamara except for the one where I'm going down a hill really slow but the camera was way too far. It was a solid rock face on one of the harder Trails over here usually done by modern Jeeps with lockers
Hey, you don't need to lift it more to get articulation. Articulation on old Land Rovers comes from longer shocks. Install longer shocks, dislocation cones and remove the sway bars. It will flex like crazy!
@@TheUntraveledPath ooooh ok. So what length shock if I was to look them up? Right it is ome 2 inches. Yeah I did sway bar deletes that helps but these heavy-duty Springs are a little stiff I think
@@ronaldrrootiii6040 keep the heavy springs. They help when you remove the sway bars. Try going for 2-3cm longer than the ones you have now. Make sure that they aren't fully closed when on normal ride hight
@@TheUntraveledPath thank you!!
Disco 1. Beautiful design, capable, comfortable 👌🏿. I give ALL the glory to the Lord Jesus Christ Who is God and His Holy Ghost that I once had the privilege of owning one.
What size are the tires? 265's
They are 285s
Where is this? First thought, seeing the plate, England. Nope, not England. Australia? Nope, mountains are too high and pine trees. Right hand drive and diesel. I'm confused.
Hahaha good guesses. It is Cyprus, an island in the Mediterranean
BTW I just realised I was watching your videos on skinny tires a few months ago when trying to decide what size tires to go for!
@@TheUntraveledPath Hah. That's awesome about the small YT world. I wouldn't have guessed Cyprus. Taht's cool.
Where is this track in the uk?
It isn't in the UK
