  • I have a p1s and have been following xtouch for ages now. While I'm happy to do the DIY work it requires, a well polished pre-made alternative will always appeal to me. Especially since it's a 5inch screen which is currently not guaranteed with the xtouch version yet. Safe to say I'll be getting the panda screen

    • Just received my P1S. I bought it even though I knew the display was not as good as X1 or even some competitor printers. I plan on doing the xtouch upgrade but I agree that a polished display that maybe is ready off the shelf would be better. I wouldn't expect one from Bamboo Lab because it conflicts with their product line up.

  • Nice to know there's a out of the box solution coming for the LEDs. It's by far the biggest shortcoming of the X1C. I just did a small riser yesterday with Cobb LEDs and TPU gasket for the glass. By far my favorite the most worthwhile update to this printer. For those concerned about rattling, this thing's super snug and with the tpu gasket there is zero play.

  • Great Content all around even for someone like me just buying my first printer in the next week. I am leaning to the P1S with the AMS and I am wondering if instead of buying a new screen for a P1 gen printer if I could use my last cell phone sitting in a box as a huge upgrade for an interface? I think I heard that the app was very effective and you could leave a charging port right there an print a mounting bracket to hold it on or near the printer. Any thoughts?

  • Just got my X1C, and it's amazing. Especially when you replace the glue-stick mess plate with the Bambu textured PEI plate. This thing is so freaking fantastic, I want a second one, both with AMS. The quality is so much better than my 5 other printers, and it's so painless. No regrets. Wish I bought it earlier. I'm not f-ing with it AT ALL. It's Perfect. If you want painless printing without a hobby tinkering project, get the X1C.

      @pedshred@pedshred4 ай бұрын
    • @@pedshred Compared with what, having time to waste tinkering with things and troubleshooting failed prints that wasted hours? I would agree I prefer not wasting time. Not saying you have to get one, but I do think you would like it. Auto bed-leveling, auto z-offset, auto pressure-advance, AI fail detection, remote 1080p webcam monitoring and timelapse captures, wifi support without octoprint. It covers a lot of hassles. Think how many more high-value comments you could post on youtube. You could be super helpful criticizing other people for things you're jealous about, instead of maybe fixing your own life.

    • Gosh I've spent a ton of money trying to "upgrade" my cr10 and enders to get them printing reliably and with good quality. Probably more at this point than a p1p. I wish the p1p was out back then. Worth spending more for a Piece of mind. No tinkering and more printing. Parts cost aside think about all of the labor in terms of cost wasted on those crap printers. Bambulabs p1p, x1c, or bed slingers are the way to go. I also want a second x1c

And add the LED on top of that so it stays outside the chamber. You could use acrylic if you're not confident in your glass cutting skills,🙂.

  • I may consider myself quite a fanboy of the Revo ecossystem, even though the nozzles are quite expensive and the risk of bending them accidentally do exist (I have lost quite a few nozzles, specially when setting up my printers after rebuilding them). To be honest, I believe I´m the only one in Brazil using them for now (at least I haven´t seen any Brazilian videos about the Revo ecossystem and the only reason I haven´t done one myself is because I haven´t had the time or willpower to do it - I´m focusing on concluding my personal 3D printing projects, for now it´s the honeycomb wall - by your recommendation BTW... it´s getting awesome! first section is already concluded). Currently I´m using a Revo Six (12V core) on one of my rebuilt printers, and a Biqu H2S Revo (24V core) on the rebuilt Anycubic Mega X. I find it awesome that there´s a Revo option for the Bambulabs printers (although I think it´s unnecessary for the A1 series as it has its own quick swap system) but for me, personally, what matters the most (as I don´t have a Bambulabs printer and I don´t plan on buying one for now) is that Bigtreetech will now offer the high flow nozzles on their shop (which I can actually use on my current Revo printers). You see, for me it´s easier to source them from Chinese authorized resellers than directly from E3D in UK, mainly because of incompetence from Brazilian customs (they returned about 50% of my packages from E3D). I have to say that with all the bureaucratic difficulty that makes me rather stubborn on using Revo LOL. Maybe they will also carry replacement parts as well, such as heater cores and also Obxidian nozzles, which currently I can source only from E3D directly (which leads to looong delays due to Brazilian customs incompetence as mentioned) or from USA (with extorsive shipping rates). Currently the only available nozzles from Bigtreetech were the standard ones, hopefully they will also sell stand alone Obxidian and high flow nozzles as well now. Ordering them from BTT instead of directly from E3D will make things rather easier.

  • The "Panda" hotend is something I've been waiting for - it seemed like such an obvious collaboration, and adds some diversity to the Bambu parts chain. But it's too expensive for me, at least for now. The real value is in the cold-swap for nozzles, and I find I just don't change nozzles often enough. Granted I'd probably do it more if it was a little easier, but right now, that cost is out of my reach. Heck, I'm about to run out of filament and can't even afford to buy more of that! Still, that's a "me problem" and I'm glad to see this new option in the market. Hopefully it performs well and sticks around.

  • For the LED strips I've heard Bambu only rate the 2-pin port for 300mA. The strips are all well over 1A, so I wouldn't use one of those, personally. The ones connected to the USB port are probably OK. Somewhat related, I have a riser on my P1S and have no additional rattles with the AMS mounted on top.

  • I was checking that CFRP plate from FYSETC just 2 hours ago and it costs Ludicrous compared to the Bambu's, and even other custom plate competitors. With ludicrous I mean 166% obv, to say like 52€ instead of 30. And you're tellin me it doesn't even stick. 🤔I'm kinda confused from all the accessories I see out there, so THANKS for your content! I think I'll keep staring from a side for another while before buying stuff. The best for Bambu's has yet to come you said and, for example, I was having trouble understanding their nozzle/hotend system in order to (so I understood) have a full hotend assembly for each nozzle diameter, if I want to quickswap. Well, I was right: Probably those Panda's are going to be harder better and faster to swap than the original system. So thanks again!

  • RE: Upgrading the chamber fan to a Noctua - IIRC the main reason they run quieter in this specific use case is because they run at half the intended RPM due to the voltage difference. Basically just capping the max speed of the fan in hardware + money + effort. Better to just modify the filament profile to slow the fan down (it's in the gcode - and I think Bambu has already done this for their profiles in a recent update).

    @technicallyreal@technicallyreal4 ай бұрын
    • The speed difference in RPM might be true. But Noctua _does also_ have great silence per unit of air moved due to good engineering.

  • Although you don’t really have any issues with cooling on the X1 it always seemed odd to me that Bambu labs directed the part cooling duct a bit high and it points some what at the side of the silicon sock. That’s something the Voron guys tried to avoid with their stealthburner because they found that it’s actually not great airflow to have the duct pointing at the heater block despite it being common practice.

  • The big advantage of the X1C over the P1S, other than the touch screen, is LIDAR and the higher speed, higher resolution camera. IF you are doing engineering parts, the LiDAR and calibrated flow control make a significant difference. However, for the average home user, entthusiasts or maker, you will notice little difference between the P1S and the X1C. PErsonally, I am not doing super accurate engineering printing, so I am seriously looking at the P1S to replace my aging Ender 5. The Ender 5 has been good, but I have the choice, Bambu Lab that just works, or spend almost the same money on upgrades on the Ender 5 that may or may not work. For me, it's a no brainer as I am past upgrading for the sake of upgrading. I am now at the stage where I want things to work.

  • Just subscribed your channel and thank you for your videos! I have SeeMeCNC Rostock II (upgraded from original Rostock that I purchased in 2013) and Creality Ender 5 Plus. I'm gonna sell my Rostock printer and so I started looking into my next printer. I like the Bambu printers with AMS bundle. But I hear that there are so many changes and I like to have a reliable printer with longevity! I do not plan to buy every couple of years another new printer. If you had to buy Bambu printer with AMS, what model would you buy? I also love that I can change the filament above the printer, rather than turning the printer to get to the filament! I do not need the color option, but it would be nice to have that option! My grand kids love when I add at least one color to some of the toys I've printed and now I can have up to 4 colors, that is nice. Is there a newer model in 2024 that I should hold for? I do not need the printer today, I can hold on for several month. I'm planning to get the printer sometimes in July or later. Again, Thank you for your help!

  • i managed to get the overhang test almost perfect... All fans on 100 and door open + adaptive layer hight 0,08 on overhangs + overhang speed all set to 5... also it depends on the fillament...original orange works good , original greeen and mate black are both not so good...but still its a pita to setup... for example i have a figure with a hat there is no way to get the hat visor to print correctly without printing it seperatly...

  • @6:52 not everyone is comfortable with electronics, wiring soldering and programming. It appears that Levi has not setup an xTouch before. There is no wiring, no soldering and no programming involved in the 5 minute process of letting the tool flash your screen and entering WiFi credentials into a JSON file. The interface isn't perfect but none of this is requires. Print and screw together an enclosure (actually this is optional) and plug in a USB cable to the hidden port in the printer. Teaching tech has a great video and a nice enclosure.

    • This. It can also be set up via a web browser similar to home assistant and esphome. There is a USB A port maybe 3 inches from where you would typically place it. Easier than troubleshooting a clogged nozzle IMO.

  • Right now in the UK the P1P I can get for £549.00 (I have seen for £457), The A1 with AMS is £509. I'm torn on which to purchase, this is my first 3D Printer. Agree I lose the colour option with the P1P, but I can add that at a later date with the AMS, but which is the better for first time and value for money. Bed Slingers (A1) or XY (P1P)?

  • Revo Diamondback??!? So I gave up on Diamondback fitting my next printer out of the box because they seemed to never support the printers I was considering, so I focused on everything else and figured hardened steel was the best I would get...So revo. I had already made up my mind on the x1c with ams, I'll add a Revo to the list. That checks the last box for my fdm printer.

  • honestly bambu lab printers are the first 3d printers id rather leave stock (obviously excluding 3d printed mods like a fan muffler etc) then upgrade it...they're fantastic stock and Ive found they acutally have more issues when you start tinkering and upgrading them like the typical ender series printer. I changed the hot end shroud out for an after market one and ive had more failed prints with it... the only thing im hoping one day will be possible is upgrading the stock camera because the P1S camera is horrendous and the X1 isnt much better.
