NEW YORK -- Dominican culture was on full display on Sunday in Midtown.
Music, dancers and floats filled Sixth Avenue for the National Dominican Day Parade.
Thousands came out to celebrate the history and traditions of the Caribbean nation and its contributions to New York City.
Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams were among those in the crowd.
"New York City, New York State is home to over 1 million Dominicans and it's a great part of our diversity, and something to celebrate today," Hochul said.
"We just feel all the energy ... a rich Dominican community. Food, culture, dance," Adams added.
"Music and everyone dancing. It's always the best time," one person said.
"Shout out to the Dominicans!" another added.
For the first time in the celebration's 41-year history, the president of the Dominican Republic attended and served as grand marshal.

    • We are one people who bleed RED and with the world being a small global village, It's imperatively better to learn to coexist than focus on what separates us ❤❤ Thanks bro for the comment 🙏
