I’m from 2004 and that’s Ricky Martin and it ends there.
I remember being 9 years old, this song just came out and was on the radio all the time. In summer, my father would take us all to our house at the beach in Vera (Almería, Spain) and we would stay until late every night eating and watching the shows that the different restaurants had every night. One time, the showman was a english comedian (that place was mostly for foreign tourists) and he made fun of my dad's baldness in front of everyone while this song was playing on the background. The joke was in english but we understood what it was about thanks to the hand gestures he kindly used. He and my mom laughed and blushed, while I got furious. I thought "why doesn't my dad comment on his ears in exchange!?". I was too young to understand his show consisted of roasting everyone. Now I'm 36 years old, and a couple years ago I took my wife and my newborn son to the beach to spend the summer. We went to a seafood restaurant popular, the waiter made a tasteful joke about my baldness. I laughed and my wife got serious. She asked me if I'm ok with a waiter going off limits like that. I remembered that whole situation and this specific song, and said "you don't get it!". Life goes round and round!! Livin la vida loca indeed!!
