Imho Rogue One looked so good, because the previous Force Awakens was so crappy....It was better, no doubt, but good? In these 2 mixed videos I can see more drama and action (even if one of them is painfully remake..) than in those 2 movies...

I absolutely Agree, Star Wars: Force Awakens was awful, Rogue One wasn't that bad, but not good as well, it has at least Vader Scene. But yeah, game trailers has more drama, action and.... feel of Star Wars universe, than these movies.... BTW i played old Dark Forces, so... i hated fact, that they changed story (and characters) how rebels get the Death Star plans.

i feel like im the one of the only people who actually liked the force awakens, i mean, no, it wasnt as good as the originals or the prequels (yes, i like the prequels, even jar jar, although i admit he was annoying at times), but i did like it. as for rogue one, i still havent watched that, although ive read quite a bit of catalyst (very interesting book btw, although its a bit confusing at the start and can take some patience to get into and enjoy)

Yeah but that would get boring pretty fast, just watching ships shoot at each other and whatnot... Wars would be over in a heat beat if we simply sent all our forces to a common battleground and duked things out head on for a day or 2. Most warfare involves espionage and capturing strategic strongholds, mainly defending your own bases. Most people don't want to die or even fight for that matter so for the most part defense is the main tactic. Wait for the enemy to leave one of their bases relatively unguarded than capture it so you have the advantage with a fortified stronghold when they try to recapture it. You'll never see entire fleets sent unless it's near the end of the war and you're killing off the last of the enemies. Also wouldn't be very entertaining without main characters to focus on so even in massive wars the video has to focus on those specific people...

@@DrakeOola my point is that star wars is a series of wars that involve trillions of people. As you said, most people don't even want to be involved but that's still talking about billions. Not 20 people fighting the "key, turning point" battles of the war. The feeling comes not just from the fleet, but from the dozens of lights down on the planet itself. We are talking militaries than can take over planets. Yes, it is a series of smaller fights within the planetary battle. But the scene shows those hundreds fights coming to a close in a battle that was planetary in scale.

If there is a large scale battle going on instead of a small scale, those people were never in danger to begin with because the story never wrote them into danger. I'm all for small scale battles when a movie/tv show/game is showing a real battle that happened, or is creating historical fiction. Heck, I'm even a fan of it when it fits into a fantasy story. But in Star Wars, we have a surplus of battles that involve less than 100 people and not enough that really give you a feel of the enemy being a galactic scale threat with trillions of lives on the line.

Most people don't realize how significant the battle between Satele Shan and Malgus was. For one, she is one of the few jedi to ever catch a sabre blade barehanded...and a sith one at that. And for two, she conjured a force blast so powerful, it disintegrated a mountain, and nearly killed Darth Malgus in the process...he was forever crippled by that fight with her. Satele Shan is one of the strongest jedi to ever live.

You have no idea that Sith and Jedi have force projection, they can predict the angle and distance by using the force. They know exactly the position where that shuttle will land.

One of the major elements of story crafting is investment into the story. Disney Studios is one of the all time undisputed masters of capturing the essence of a story for a 2 hour arc. But sadly that does not translate well to the more torch passing story formats.

@@laststand6420 Some of it I think is the administrative culture. Disney made its bones on being the one shot wonder. Hell even their animated series they are known for killing off before it runs to long. And when it comes to the one shot wonder they are the undisputed king, and that even translated well enough into doing a many episode arc to achieve a final climax. But when it comes to the serialized series, Disney does not have the length of vision needed. DS9 is a wonderful case study of how to set up a multi season series with tie ins to other lore and how to do organic foreshadowing. And how to make the side characters into works of art. And the problem with Disney is that they avoid doing that because it detracts from the spotlight on the main characters. And that greatly limits growth of the story. Because now there is no arc where Nog goes from a JV offender to war vet starfleet officer. Now there is no arcs where the black market bartender shows and reflects degrees of insight that are oddly profound in a grass touching sort of way where we watch them struggle between greed and honor. I mean look at the MCU and just count the side characters that could have become amazing and spawned their own series. But disney for better or worse can only see its stars and never casts their eyes down to the seeds they inadvertently plant.

In real life this character was developed inspired by John Lovell Warrior Poet, a US Veteran 2nd Battalion Army Regimen and firearms instructor who has incredible aim and accuracy, which was needed to take out the droids A.I. superior programming and technical accuracy only he could defeat two destroyer droids like that. i forget their names. Gabor Toth yeah well rogue one wasn't that bad but sheez force awakens was just a remake.
Imho Rogue One looked so good, because the previous Force Awakens was so crappy....It was better, no doubt, but good? In these 2 mixed videos I can see more drama and action (even if one of them is painfully remake..) than in those 2 movies...
Gabor Toth actually 3 mixed videos and I never said that Rogue One was good just said "not that bad" but yeah I agree with you these cinematics are so much better.
I absolutely Agree, Star Wars: Force Awakens was awful, Rogue One wasn't that bad, but not good as well, it has at least Vader Scene. But yeah, game trailers has more drama, action and.... feel of Star Wars universe, than these movies.... BTW i played old Dark Forces, so... i hated fact, that they changed story (and characters) how rebels get the Death Star plans.
i feel like im the one of the only people who actually liked the force awakens, i mean, no, it wasnt as good as the originals or the prequels (yes, i like the prequels, even jar jar, although i admit he was annoying at times), but i did like it. as for rogue one, i still havent watched that, although ive read quite a bit of catalyst (very interesting book btw, although its a bit confusing at the start and can take some patience to get into and enjoy)
These 11 minutes were more entertaining than all of the new Star Wars movies...

For those of us who come from SWTOR, we know the "Girl" as Satele Shan, Grand Master of the Jedi Council, and the young soldier and she would one day have a son who would one day command Republic Intelligence against the Sith Empire. Very nicely done.

11:02 THIS. This I what I need in my Star Wars. A feeling that the battle isn't just 50 people fighting over a tiny village. A feeling that every one of these battles are planetary in scale.
Yeah but that would get boring pretty fast, just watching ships shoot at each other and whatnot... Wars would be over in a heat beat if we simply sent all our forces to a common battleground and duked things out head on for a day or 2. Most warfare involves espionage and capturing strategic strongholds, mainly defending your own bases. Most people don't want to die or even fight for that matter so for the most part defense is the main tactic. Wait for the enemy to leave one of their bases relatively unguarded than capture it so you have the advantage with a fortified stronghold when they try to recapture it. You'll never see entire fleets sent unless it's near the end of the war and you're killing off the last of the enemies. Also wouldn't be very entertaining without main characters to focus on so even in massive wars the video has to focus on those specific people...
@@DrakeOola my point is that star wars is a series of wars that involve trillions of people. As you said, most people don't even want to be involved but that's still talking about billions. Not 20 people fighting the "key, turning point" battles of the war. The feeling comes not just from the fleet, but from the dozens of lights down on the planet itself. We are talking militaries than can take over planets. Yes, it is a series of smaller fights within the planetary battle. But the scene shows those hundreds fights coming to a close in a battle that was planetary in scale.
For the 50 people in the village, it's important. I know, I saw some of those villages once. Save one, save a million... You tried.
@arthurchadwell9267 this IS fantasy though. If there is a large scale battle going on instead of a small scale, those people were never in danger to begin with because the story never wrote them into danger. I'm all for small scale battles when a movie/tv show/game is showing a real battle that happened, or is creating historical fiction. Heck, I'm even a fan of it when it fits into a fantasy story. But in Star Wars, we have a surplus of battles that involve less than 100 people and not enough that really give you a feel of the enemy being a galactic scale threat with trillions of lives on the line.
There is a reason that there is such a dedicated Star Wars the Old Republic fan base.
This needs a god damn movie already the old republic is so interesting and badass
I don't think we can trust any of the current leadership in Disney/Lucasfilm to do it justice, let's make Disney think Star Wars is dead before we revive it and do it justice ourselves.

Most people don't realize how significant the battle between Satele Shan and Malgus was. For one, she is one of the few jedi to ever catch a sabre blade barehanded...and a sith one at that. And for two, she conjured a force blast so powerful, it disintegrated a mountain, and nearly killed Darth Malgus in the process...he was forever crippled by that fight with her. Satele Shan is one of the strongest jedi to ever live.

Got goosebumps when Satele Shan did a Force Kamehameha on Darth Malgus at 10:25. That's one badass Jedi!!
She even absorbs the red light saber bare handed, that is a rare force ability. She also uses the stronger version of force waves to defeat Malgus, even her facial expression shows strong motivation to fight.
It'd be funny iif someone edited the Sith attack on the Temple so that Malgus misjudged the shuttles impact speed and actually gets run over like an idiot just standing there.

I don't think it's entirely calculations, surely he used the force to stop the shuttle just to give the jedi the impressions he has the situation under HIS control
You have no idea that Sith and Jedi have force projection, they can predict the angle and distance by using the force. They know exactly the position where that shuttle will land.
Or edit it so when it hits the Temple it splits in half and explodes killing all of the people inside it

Truly impressive. These battles are some of the best we see in all of star wars. Sad that with all their millions Disney was unable to come up with anything even remotely as appealing.
One of the major elements of story crafting is investment into the story. Disney Studios is one of the all time undisputed masters of capturing the essence of a story for a 2 hour arc. But sadly that does not translate well to the more torch passing story formats.

@@laststand6420 Some of it I think is the administrative culture. Disney made its bones on being the one shot wonder. Hell even their animated series they are known for killing off before it runs to long. And when it comes to the one shot wonder they are the undisputed king, and that even translated well enough into doing a many episode arc to achieve a final climax. But when it comes to the serialized series, Disney does not have the length of vision needed. DS9 is a wonderful case study of how to set up a multi season series with tie ins to other lore and how to do organic foreshadowing. And how to make the side characters into works of art. And the problem with Disney is that they avoid doing that because it detracts from the spotlight on the main characters. And that greatly limits growth of the story. Because now there is no arc where Nog goes from a JV offender to war vet starfleet officer. Now there is no arcs where the black market bartender shows and reflects degrees of insight that are oddly profound in a grass touching sort of way where we watch them struggle between greed and honor. I mean look at the MCU and just count the side characters that could have become amazing and spawned their own series. But disney for better or worse can only see its stars and never casts their eyes down to the seeds they inadvertently plant.
Satele Shan fight and this comrade throwing himself at the Sith with a grenade in his hand is just EPIC.
