  • My dog was dying due to excessive vomiting and diarrhea for 2 weeks. After about 1k in vet bills and no help, a vet on a consultant app told me to give him pepcid ac. In 6 hours, he was showing massive improvement and he recovered fully.

  • A very long time ago, when I was 10, my cat, Tuffy, came home with a severe wound around his ear. My step dad was old school and would not take an animal to a vet. So my step sister and I worked together to clean the wound with straight peroxide and an ant bacteria ointment. We changed his bandages every day. Tuffy was fully healed in a couple of weeks. Fur fully restored in a couple of months. We were 10 and 12 when we did this.

    @Cheripie506@Cheripie50611 ай бұрын
    • One thing I do now is ask, what exactly will the vet do for this wound? Unless they're stitching it closed, most of the time they give you antibiotics (just in case), which as we know is not necessarily a good idea, unless there's a good reason, and then charge you 2x the price for some otc cream or eardrops that if you Google, you find out is $10 at the pharmacy. Yet they'll tell you it's so expensive because 'other places buy it wholesale' Okay, so you're telling me that a practice with 6 vets working full time doesn't buy enough to charge reasonable rates? Absolutely bollocks, and they try to assert that this is the 'true' cost of health care (the way the American health system does, while charging you $25 for a bandage that costs $1.50), and that's why it's suddenly so expensive. No, you just got greedy, you got bought out by a greedy, money-grubbing American veterinary chain, and now no one can afford to treat their pets. Thanks a bunch for lowering our quality of life.

  • My 15 year old dogs got a awful diarrhea and one had to be put to sleep because of blood loss. The other 2 I fed fresh chicken with noodles and fresh GINGER...my granddaughter works for a vet and we agree for trauma medical science is wonderful but for internal conditions there's natural help. Anyway my 2 dogs got well very quickly and lived a few months longer until they died of old age. I adopted a youngster at the shelter and his common kennel cough responded well to warm water with honey and leaving the shower on awhile...it was a cool, dry spring here in Georgia. At almost 76 I made my will leaving my pets to my granddaughter...it's important. There are people who promise to care for your pets but the first thing they do is dump them. It has to be someone who loves you and loves animals. Deathbed promises are very sacred.

    • I volunteered at a shelter when I first retired and the saddest thing I saw was an animal being surrendered because their owner had died and the family didn’t want it. After Covid I decided rather than going back to the shelter, I would adopt senior animals. I adopted two dachshunds last year whose owner had died. Sweetest animals I have ever owned.

I live in a place in which vetrerinarians have studied that what the pharma industey wants them to "learn" and instead of helping our dogs, many veterinarians just sell pharma products at the costs of thechealth of our dogs and it is not seldom that a healthy dog with something insignificant like a light cold, then dies of kidney failure right after visiting the vet because of the vet "bombing" him with as many pharmacological stuff as possible.

  • My cat was very ill and diagnosed with asthma. When he worsened i took him back. On examination, he had two large tumors. One blocking his airway, the other pressing against his esophagus. They gave him less than two days. I asked for a steroid to shrink the masses so i could get meds and fluids into him. I immediately came to this channel and incorporated every suggestion for cancer. My cat showed improvement within the week. They said it was impossible. After two years, i stopped dosing him and the tumors returned. This time, they were unresponsive to the treatment, and i lost him. I think I'd still have him had i not stopped treatment. This is an amazing doctor, and i will be forever grateful for the two extra years i had with my boy. I come to this guy before i go anywhere else.

  • Another thing you can use on your pets is honey - the kind you get from your local beekeeper, not the junk in stores. It is great for wound healing. When I was a young nurse, we had a morbidly obese lady whose abdominal wound kept eviscerating (pulling apart for those of you who don't know). We applied honey to the open wound several times a day and it caused new tissue to form. My Maltipoo just had knee surgery and of course, she messed up her incision. So, I used honey on it, put her in one of those newborn onesies, and now it is completely healed. And the good thing is, if they lick it, it doesn't hurt them. You can store honey indefinitely in your cabinet - it doesn't need to be refrigerated. They actually discovered some in some Egyptian tombs that was still good.

It's really very disheartening when you cant even ask a question in an emergency situation to a online veterinarian without being charged.. not to mention the anxiety levels when frantically searching for a simple answer . they lead u to think your going to get it... then BAM! yeah if you have 50$ or whatever they charge! It's cruel an really sad that something as simple as finding a at home remedy has to be so traumatic! sorry to have rambled! Much love to to this veterinarian! 🙏🙏❤

  • I wish I would have found this channel years ago. My buddy Alex an Orange short hair cat had stomach issues his whole life puking so much that his teeth became rotten it was an everyday thing cleaning up his puke. I took him to a couple different veterinarians And they prescribed him a special diet that I bought from their offices. None of them worked. A year before he passed away a way I started giving him zantac that I had for my stomach I found on the Internet somewhere at the dosage and it actually worked for the 1st time he was not puking. Unfortunately he had heart issues and Got a straddle Thrombus which caused him to drag his back legs meowing in pain, and the vet said he was in much pain so I had to put him down. He made it 12 years but I regret his puking lowering his quality of life when the vets could just have gave him pepcid. Thank you for all you do for us and our companions dr Jones. I'm glad you told the vet assoc. To go p!ss up a rope! You have helped so many because of your bravery and compassion ❤️

    @Meltdown300@Meltdown300 Жыл бұрын
    • It's surprising how well the tea bag method works. At the stables I used to ride at they had an appaloosa x cob that had a lot of pink skin around his eyes and he notoriously got conjunctivitis in summer. Thankfully being british we always had tea bags on hand so it was common place to treat him daily through the summer to keep on top of it.

    • HOW to? What the Directions on the Tea Bag Tip? Do I just soak it First, then apply on the eye of my dog?

      @janephillips3627@janephillips3627 Жыл бұрын
    • @@janephillips3627 I put two teabags in a cup of boiling water and leave to soak until the water has cooled down to room temperature. I then place the teabag over the eye and squeeze it so the tea runs into the eye {try gently pulling eyes open to help it get inside}. I will place the teabag over the eye gently for a few seconds so he doesn't shake it all out immediately. I will do this about three times a day until it has cleared up. Try making a new batch each time and keep it room temperature so its not so aggravating putting it into your animals eye. I have used this on kitten for conjunctivitis and for a reaction my dog had to a weed in our garden that caused his eye to swell shut and go very red.

  • I have saved this. Another good wound, rash, hot spots product is Bag Balm. It's antibacterial. It can be used on humans, cats and dogs. It's thick and soothing too. I learned of this from my grandmother that used Bag Balm to prevent pressure bed sores on my grandfather who was bedridden after a major stroke. The doctors could not understand why he did not develop major sores! BTW, yup, this is still used on cows udders too! It comes in very small cans good for a first aid kit or larger cans. Bach's Flower Remedy: for dogs that are scared of thunder storms or fire works. A few drops in the dog's mouth and it helps calm them down. It is good for humans too for the same reasons and for stress. My old GSD knew where I kept the Bach's and would only lead me to the bathroom where I kept it when he could hear the thunder storm BEFORE I could. Calendula gel : soothing for itchy spots and it promotes healthy skin growth on those spots.

We’ve made illness waaaaay too profitable for humans and animals in America so we can expect a lot more illness. It’s a very powerful industry and they are always looking to increase profits. Hence why we see ever more vaccines for humans and pets and also a lot more chronic illness than ever before. I remember the days when everyone wasn’t so damn allergic to absolutely everything.

  • This was generous and helpful and greatly serves animals bc not everyone can afford vet visits for these relatively minor but common issues which have a notable impact on a dogs quality of life. Another viewer made the point that they feel more confident and equipped to adopt a pet now (cost related to frequent vet bills had them hesitating). This type of video could lead to more pet adoptions, which serve animals and humans in innumerable ways. So, for myself and all others this serves and will influence - four legged and two legged - thank you!! 🙏🏼

Before we had a vet in the tropics, I relied on a Swedish registered nurse for tips on dog ER care. I always flushed wounds with clear water and then some iodine. The canestan or equivalent does work for ear infections, as does Benadryl or any antihistamine for itchy skin. Just ensure you know the dosage. When we got our beloved vet (US schooled), he used the same products.

Chlorotrimezole cream for ear infections example: Malassezia or yeast infections Clotrimazole, also for vaginal cream, ringworm, sweat rash, or athlete’s foot cream. To use the product in the ear, tilt the animals head and place a small amount in the ear that is infected, and rub at the base of the ear near the head and message the area. 4. Hydrocortisone cream also works well in the ear. 5. Polysporn anti-bacterial ingredients are: bacitracin zinc and polymyxin B sulfate for example styes and pink eyes. Add 1-2 drops in the eye this is a sterile product suitable for eyes. 6. Pepsin acid production if animal is vomiting. 2.5 milligrams for 10 lbs. of body weight. 7. Aspirin for pain. Assuming the animal does not have liver or kidney disease. Aspirin is a pain reliever. This is for information purposes only, I am not a doctor nor do I play one. I used the transcript to get the information. Do your own research!

  • EXCELLENT content. Thank you for providing this for pet owners, so that people begin to learn how to take optimal care of their pet's health! Can we just appreciate how much that pup LOVED that brief ear massage with the clotrimazole? lol So awesome of you to provide this info to the public for free because far too many people do NOT know how to safely and effectively care for their pets, and *far too many* people don't take their pets to the vet because they simply can't afford to do so. I'm so glad you chose to pursue veterinary medicine! Animals need advocates to speak on their behalf, since they don't have a voice to do so on their own. subscribed

  • One of your advice from many is to use coconut oil for regrowth of hair in skin infection area and it has worked like magic everytime. Thank you so much for helping us

  • Love this video. Thank you so much. When mentioning aspirin I think it's important to specify aspirin ONLY since probably a lot of people will equate Tylenol, ibuprofen and/or naproxen with aspirin, and I think that would be a very bad thing for the dog.

  • Thank you for all your videos. I used to work for a large vet clinic in Southern California. You remind me of one of the 7 veterinarians on staff. They were all great, but, you have that ability to be so good at explaining things to people. ❤
