Bloody hell, they have jacked the price. 300k for a Cayenne S is ludicrous
Chump change for the targeted demographic to be fair
@@Alby911that just means they've decided to rip people off more.
how much of that price is what the govt adds into the mix as '' Luxury car tax "' and other rip off duties we have to pay on new vehicles ?

I have the standard shape S. It's my fourth Cayenne. Build quality of mine (in the UK) is fantastic and I have none of the issues you mention. Totally agree the V8 is a superb engine.

Great video Paul, can you review the bmw m235i gran coupe thanks
It sounds great! Would love to see these types of suv's do some light off-roading
That is a huge amount of money. For what seems to be very ordinary build quality and a lot of average plastic
What even is average plastic and how does it compare to high end plastic? I doubt the difference would be significant enough to break the deal.
For 300k the cars interior just ain’t it, it’s all just performance this car which makes sense since it’s Porsche but the interior ain’t right.
@@_Balk_CM - What exactly should the interior look like at 300k?
@Alby911 Like a Bentley Bentayga perhaps?
@@Alby911 My Mercedes GLE63 costs about 138K (USD) and has a higher build quality on interior. I have been in many Cayenne to compare. The Cayenne do have much better handling however than the AMG SUV. Tradeoffs I suppose 🙄
Skips to 'On the Road'. Sounds lovely.
I've had my Cayenne S SUV for a month (purchased from Porsche Centre Melbourne) and put about 1800kms so far. I haven't had any issues with the creaking in mine, everything is rock solid so far (long may that continue). The passenger screen is a waste given how counter productive the video app is (you need to log into the app, then each streaming service you want to use every single time). I'm grateful I did option the sports exhaust as it does sound amazing. The car is a fingerprint magnet with the screens and piano black climate controls.
I got one 2 months ago, definatly no creaks or anything...build quality is amazing
Whens the new triton vid coming?
I think you were too kind on the design problems and plastic issues in the cabin. Pretty poor for a vehicle in that price bracket
Those cup holders at the back, are clearly shared across the vw group . Look exactly like the ones on the VW Tiguan that cost a fraction of this car.
I bought the cayenne s non coupe 5 months ago and the it’s built like a tank inside really up market materials really well put together it was built in Germany tho don’t know if that makes a difference. Also it was in the dealership practically fully loaded all the options you would really want. For 128k UK Pounds a lot of money I know but it’s a a lot of machine. And for the size and weight not another vehicle handles or stops like it. Wish we had the weather you have over there 😂 it rains for fun here love the channel mate keep up the great work 👍
All current-generation Cayennes are made in Slovakia. Yours will be too. They stopped doing final-assembly in Germany with the previous generation.
@@alexaescht that’s what they told me when. Showroom must have been mislead thanks for the update 👍 mines as I say isn’t flimsy cheap at All inside it’s well put together and cracking materials used inside my brother has an x 5 new model not even in the ball park compared to cayenne 👍

Fairly certain they are all built in Slovakia, and ship from the German port. Glad to hear yours was well done though.
Thank God V8 glory is back. And a great one indeed.
Carbon fibre mirror covers? Is that for the sporty huntsman living behind the mirror?

Do with duty and LCT it's like $340,000 lol. It's nice but someone at Porsche is having a laugh here.
Paul would you go this Porsche or the Jaguar F Pace SVR V8 ?
The latest Jaguar 575 edition got 423kw 700 nm .200 k roughly with everything added .The Porsche would add another 30k + .Im still thinking of buying the jaguar.
Can you please review a porsche 911 gts coupé
1100.00 + $ ...tell them their joking 😄
Can you review the Porsche 911 Turbo S? Hopefully the build quality of that car is better considering it’s Made in Germany.
Late praise for this car is no longer enough to erase the many criticisms at the beginning of the review
A real honest review. The cheap interior was also my negative experience at the testride. A bad joke for this price. Lane Assist made only noises but did not work.
I would go for the Macan. Better handling and it looks even better.
every new Porsche looking like the Taycan now
And just as repellent. Fully digital dash, move to electric. All things that will be the death of the brand.
Robust, high quality and built really well...my ears are burning. 😁
Never heard anyone complain about Porsche build quality..🤷🏼♂️
The ones not built in Germany are bad, same as USA made BMW and Mercedes
Do some googling
Didn't you hear the creaks?
It far better than my previous amg gla, the materials are like night and day.
Made by robots in Czech Republic, bought by robots in UAE.
I test drove the Cayenne S and the sound of the sport exhaust is worth it, it drives like an absolute dream, so smooth, the suspension is awesome, felt like I was floating in the air. The transmission on this car is just amazing, Im leaning towards the Cayenne S but with all the options, the price is around 138k USA versus the Mercedes AMG 53, I can get fully loaded for around $110,000 and the performance is not far off between the 2. Tough decision.
Bots in full effect.
Is it just me or does that V8 sound like the Flat 6 from Porsche when revving high from outside?!
I thought I was the only one 😂. Kinda also got that V6 tone
During the infotainment section, could you tell us what the stereo sounds like, considering you can spend thousands on it as an option.
From experience porsche has lessened the sound quality of the bose package to push consumers to the burmester. I had a 2020 with the bose system that was far better than the 2024 bose system. Actually upgraded the 2024 sound system with an aftermarket subwoofer to make up the sound difference.
I hope they get to review the mercedes g63 amg before it goes out of production
FINALLY .... NEXT X3M COMPETITION PLEASE
Are you going to make a video on d new infinity qx80 ?
We won’t be getting that vehicle in Australia.
Show the speedo when you smash the straight !! I always paid attention to how fast you got the cars up to
For 300k you can get a car that squeaks and rattles like a corolla that has 300k km
😅😅😅😅😅😅
What about the autonomy test for the cayenne! 🙏🙏
It has none. Well as far as I could tell.
If it was spec’d with Active Lane Keep (ALK) it would have some autonomous features. This specific vehicle has lane keep assist (LKA).
@CarExpertAus ahh, yes-- I remember Cayenne options are a la carte! Looking forward to more of your autonomy reviews! Btw which brand has the best system? Thanks again!
@@BuRNingFLaN IMO Tesla has the best autonomous features.
@QuietlyEffective I tend to agree. I think Tesla's system is the only system that can avoid lateral threats, (other cars going into your lane). The other systems have variations of lane keep and adaptive cruise-- but few can avoid other cars.
Hey, There is a button on the bottom of the cruise control stalk that changes settings for the adaptive cruise control. Maybe the steering is off.
Yeah we tried that one. Didn’t help with lane centring.
From the video it seemed that system was activated. Keep in mind the brand encourages driver feel and input.
@@jordandiamond6267 My family owns a 2023 Taycan, it has lane centering and all of those things.
@@CarExpertAus Just had a look, you need the inno drive option to have lane centering... Should come standard for a $300,000 car
Nice looking vehicle Front would do well with a aftermarket lip
I can’t believe I am saying this Paul, but the build quality on my 2023 Honda HRV is far more superior.
It seems the styling has reached the end. The front end including the headlights is too boxy and wheel wells disturbing.
This was shown with the optional sport design package and 22" rims. The standard front end is quite slimmer and more pointed. Personally like the new sport design package.
Can I skip ahead 2-3 years of ownership? That would be a nice review.
Yes would be
Great review. I fell in love with the new Cayenne so I bought two, one for me (the S) and one for my wife (base model). I can agree that the options list is ridiculous, but in our cars, at least, the build quality is phenomenal. And that’s coming from an OCD person who tries to hear noises 😂 The S is a true gem. The power is just freight train like and the sound is just out of this world (definitely get the sports exhaust). The lane keeping assist is a little bit too intrusive, sometimes it tracks where the asphalt has been joined as opposed to the line. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way to toggle it down, it’s either on or off… One option I wish we got was the soft close doors. The doors are built and sealed so well that when you close the 4th and final door, it’s like closing into a vacuum so you do have to give it a slam to close it. Most of the time I don’t close it hard enough and I have to re-slam it to close it. It’s a shame neither models have electronically adjustable steering wheels, that’s crazy in a $180k+ car. The warranty is also pathetic at 3 years so bought another 2 years. Overall, it’s the best car I’ve ever driven. I considered many cars from an M3, to the new c63s E Performance and I’m glad I went with Porsche who said F you to the industry and put a V8 in!
Agreed about the soft close. Do get that option when building.
Ridicolous
A model without all the tech, normal gauges and better build quality would be quite nice. 😊
Jeez if that’s how the S goes, the Turbo GT must be bonkers
I was waiting for you to comment on the paino black....you were brutal on the Grand Cherokee.
Hmmm, not sure why are you saying this V8 sounds good. To me, it sounds like a tractor. Lexus has a truly great sounding V8, as can be found in LC500.
So Porsche aren’t bringing out a GTS version?
I suspect they will eventually.
GTS models normally get released 1-2 years after initial launch.
So hopefully 2025 then
Want to say this new S trim with the V8 replaced the GTS in 2024.
@@jordandiamond6267 2025 GTS just dropped press release this week. can likely place orders in a month or two.
I think the coupe looks better. In the Mercedes however I think the traditional SUV flat back looks better.
2200kg serious makes all the EVs not from ground up look really good.
Next BMX x6 m
He activated lane keep assist hence the ping pong effect. Not active lane keep. This specific vehicle may not have ALK.
It’s standard technology on an $18,000 Kia Picanto.
@@CarExpertAusit’s a Porsche. It’s to be driven……You “expected” it to be standard. Just because it’s standard on a Kia doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gonna be standard on a Porsche. If you had ever reviewed a Porsche in the past or understood the option list on this specific car you would have known that active lane keep was not optioned and there’s a difference between it and LKA. You should honestly know the car your reviewing. Also you should know almost everything is à la la cart in a Porsche. Autonomous driving issues aside ….your review was solid and one of my favorites. I really appreciated your thoroughness and the launch/shots from the outside which I feel fully captured its cornering abilities.
There's an ALK setting to set the intervention level. From memory it's "EARLY" and "LATE". The early setting should keep it actively centred.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Genuinely disappointed to see the build quality. This used to be a strength of the brand. 911 was always far more solid than its mote exotic Italian and British competitors. At $300k+ on road is it twice as good as for example an X5?? I had been beginning to really take an interest in Porsche, however great as that engine is, it's hard to justify if it's not put together properly.
I see Porsche? I like instantly!!
He lost me at 188k
I’d like to know how the door closing sounds is relevant to anything regarding a vehicle test
Unfortunately, the big V8's days are numbered. But so are EV's now with Mercedes announcing cut backs to only 20% EV's instead of 100% to 2030, and a disaster in the US with Ford sitting on massive EV stocks, GM stopping production, etc. I believe that Hybrids are the real thing now, both plug in and standard, and as example the Cayenne S Hybrid is the V6, lighter over the front wheels as well, plus plugin electric and is getting around 3 ltrs/100km actual fuel usage. 0-100klm/hr figure about the same as V8 and this is the type of car I would like to see you test, luxury sports cars, as Hybrids are the way to go over next 15 years for Australia. If all vehicles in Aus were Hybrid's we would cut our greenhouse emissions from vehicles by 75%, and that's a good and realistic result.
The way he refers to "Tycan" like it's a place and not a thing/car, "from Tycan"
That’s how the car industry talks. “Today we’re testing the build quality of Camry” is normal car-industry speech
@@alexaescht I've watched a lot of car reviews from KZhead centric to old media and no one has ever done than.
He's correct, the brand is moving towards the taycan styling as a whole. It's undoubtedly more taycan like from the driver's standpoint than any other cayenne.
Hi Paul, wow I have to say...that instrument cluster really really looks great and sharp I love it good resolution on the speedometer guages, unlike that stupid looking BMW video game "like" looking guages...I mean really I don't know who came up with such ideas anyway

That 300k price tag inadvertently makes this car feel so cheap in a sense, not monetary obviously, but just feel cheap

I'm so mad right now... I cant afford it, so I'm upset. Someone send me some money for burgers!!!
All German cars these days have terrible build quality and reliability. I’ve owned all the major German brands and have had major issues with all of the big four.. The early 1990s was the last good era for German cars.

Yep, not a fan of the coupe. The standard Cayenne just looks good for me and is more practical for everyday use. On build quality, they could learn a thing or two from BMW. The Bayerische guys have stepped up so much that their cars have become the standard in terms of quality in the segment.
Could get an RSQ8 for that money!
Just get a 3 year old one with v8 for half price
They are not selling the car they are selling the badge Paul, the only thing good about this car is that V8 engine and brake system. Porsche is way too expensive for what it is.
Agreed. Porsche's used to be relatively affordable for the performance on offer. Now they've thrown that out the window
@@yissibiiyte especially so in Australia, pricing here is abhorrent. Now, even with the used market.

Porsche has always been pro-Apple but that 4 screen Apple infotainment is ugly.
I think this is bloody cheap because when we import a car in our country we have to pay a whopping 650% tax
300k? Hard pass! And I'm a porsche fan!
Agreed. Porsches used to be *relatively* affordable for the performance on offer. Now they're just as overpriced as every other performance brand
