  • norfolk03 Thanks for your kind words. The way we were treated on both occasions by the management, crew, production team & presenters of the shows reflects in our enjoyment when participating in these programs and I think this comes across. In particular, when filming Bargain Hunt we were treated with kindness by both Tim Wonnacott and the late great David Barby. We enjoyed the experience immensely and would do it again if the opportunity arose.

  • This couple were in " Cash in the Attick " as well in 2014 !!! After this show was made I believe ... Paul was their auctioneer estimator !!! They bought a brown leather loungesuit , 2 & 3 seater ... had 3 auctions ... and went on hollidays as well !!! I remember they made £5500 pounds ! They were only going for £900 !!! I recognised them straight away ... they have a black Labrador as well .... And she passed 2 courses in speaking Greek ! The choice was between Greece or Thailand ! Nice couple and this was a nice show as well !!! Must have entered as candidates in both shows ! Cheers , good luck with your shows ! Have been a follower of both shows since before 2009 !!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍💖❤💖🎈🎈

    • Herma, thank you for your kind words. We did apply to be contestants on both shows. On Bargain Hunt we consider ourselves blessed to have been allocated the late 'great' David Barby as our expert, he played a great part in helping us to choose suitable items to take to auction which ultimately helped us to win. On Cash In The Attic we were just lucky when our items were sold although we were surprised by the amount they eventually fetched. Lorne Spicer, Paul Hayes, the film crew, and the auction staff were all wonderful and professional, Lorne brought a pack of cocktail sausages to nibble on during takes and was happy to share them with Mia! our Labrador. Happy times!!

    • David was a pure gentleman, kind and knowledgeable it was a pleasure to meet him and a bonus to have him as our expert on the day the same can be said about Tim Wonnacott, a true professional, it's a shame he is no longer involved with the show.

  • Oh geez, I just found this old BH, wow!!! So you are "Martin and Jane"? You were blessed to be with David, what a wonderful gentleman he was.😟 The red team were cursed by that Graham, looks like he wasn't around much.😂 I adore the shows with Tim, he's a very funny guy and made the show all the more enjoyable! Glad you won!

  • An old episode before internet bidding. Interesting to see how the internet has really opened up the auction business.

  • O my word! This 2004 episode is amazing!! In the action portion the assistant to the auctioneer showing the iitems currently up for bidding is a very young Paul Laidlaw! The eyes give him away though; that mischivious twinkle was showing up even then! Fantastic to have seen this.

  • Red Expert doesn't know what he's talking about, wants them to buy an ugly plate and can't understand why a cool looking mining torch would be desirable.

  • Red team expert was totally obnoxious and condescending. Red team itself was generally belligerent. Ideal match! 😏

  • If only the BBC could replace the facile commentaries of 2021's B.H. hosts and recall Tim Wonnacott to the helm so we can stop being patronised by veneer-smug presenters who have in no way compensated for TW's absence.

    • Here here. Tim Wonnacott and David Barby were both kind, professional, knowledgeable and real gentleman. At the auction I saw Tim helping buyers load their cars with purchases.

    • Couldn't agree more. The constant silly voice over comments are really annoying. Also the irritating and time wasting 'sneaky peeks' bit at the start of the programme.
