Deep Water Well: Unveiling the Fascinating Process of Digging and Drilling

FINALLY well and water already at 7 m depth !!!
I tried several times myself to manually make a smaller water well by various methods but it did not work deeper than 5.5 m, and after this video, you will see why.
This is a very interesting process of digging a water well or drilling a water well with the help of a special drilling construction driven by a tractor. Digging wells in this way are usually done in two steps.
It is first drilled with a metal basket with a smaller diameter of 600 mm and then with a larger one with a diameter of 800 mm.
When the water layer is reached, concrete pipes are lowered into the well to protect the well from collapsing.
After that, the well is cleaned and prepared for use, and in the video, you will see in detail what we have done.
The depth of our well is 8.5 meters and we constantly have a water level of 1.2 meters with a slight decrease during the extremely dry summer.
An interesting aspect of the whole process of drilling wells is all these layers of earth that you can see during the excavation, as well as the fascinating fact that at a depth of 8 meters there is a layer of large stones in the shape of gravel.
This way of digging or drilling water wells in my country costs about $ 70-80 per meter.
After that, you need to buy a water pump and the whole system with the help of which you will bring that water to your house. So the whole process of digging a water well as well as building a temporary outdoor pumping station cost about $ 1800 not counting the work of my father and me.
The long-standing problem of the water supply has finally been solved.
Location: MZ Kovači, municipality of Živinice, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Watter Well depth 8 m.

  • I admire these men who work in this field and I admire the old hard tech equipment...built to be used and to probably last longer than newer and more tech equipment of these days. Not many men would work in the mud like this and they were born with strong backs and a sense of doing a good job that doesn't require their thumbs or a screen to look at. My hats off to these fellows.

I’m about 100 feet (33 m) above and about 400 yards (400 m) from a river that should push some ground water in somewhere not very far below river lever.
