  • That conductor is a show man, a joy to watch. So much energy and enthusiasm.

    @musicfanBRA@musicfanBRA Жыл бұрын
    • I wouldn’t say ”showman” but just someone who genuinly lives and breathes and FEELS the music!! ❤️ I love those kind of people who can just let go and let the music move them and who feel the music becsuse I’m the same. It always baffles me hoe people are able to sit still when listening to music! Like during this performance…I was tapoing my foot, bopping my head to the best and tapping my fingers…I don’t even realize I do it, the music just mskes me do it. When there is a great rhythm, I just cannot sit still. So I am always SO PLEASED when I see conductors and musicians REALLY into the music and their bodies feeling the music. That is what takes the performance on another level because it goes from ”thinking” to ”feeling”, which is music at its truest form. ❤️

  • This version is absolutely perfect! There has to be a balance between the slow and exquisite melody by the women at the beginning of the performance, the more energetic encore in the middle and the controlled aggression in the closing. And there has to be enough room for the quiet moments to breathe, so the attacks on strings and percussion hit you in the face when they happen. The conductor played it flawlessly.

    • Very True. Same with me too. The initial chorus and the one after the drum beats. I heard this great composition way back in the year 1986 in Bombay with the USSR Radio Symphony orchestra performing a series of concerts of Russian composers for 3 consecutive days . The composers included Tchaikovsky , Mussorgosky, Rimsky- Korsakov,Borodin, Cui ;.at the National Centre of Performing Arts. I did not understand anything in orchestral music but the chorus took me to some distant land. Thanks.
