The British royal family is very rich, but not as rich as you might think. And that’s because of a centuries-old model for how they make their income - and taboos about earning a private income outside of their official duties.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are breaking free from the rules of how royals make money, which just might be a savvy financial decision.

However there is no reason to believe that she's paying her fair share as her tax returns are effectively top secret. If the queen was paying her fair share then the first thing she would do is send her tax return to the times of London. On top of all of that there is no reason to believe that Charles or who ever comes after him will continue to pay any taxes. A recent report said the the royal family is more secretive than MI-5. • There's a flaw in this. If the monarchy is removed, the House of Windsor will just reclaim all the crown estate from the UK government, given the fact that they haven't given up ownership of the Crown Estate. They just give up the revenue from the estate to the UK government as per the treaty, and get sovereign grant instead. The government doesn't own the crown estate. It is owned by the House of Windsor. In case the monarchy is abolished, the treaty becomes null and void, and the Windsors suddenly have on their hand a multi billion dollar estate.

And the same applies to the monarchy. Their presence does massively boost the UK economy and I think actively hating them isn't really going to do anything since its not like they're colonizing countries like they used to do. I think what is sad is if people are actually obsessed with the royalty too much. They're just Kardashians that actually benefit the UK economy and also sometimes do charity.

It's more ridiculous that the US has a system that allows CEOS to become that rich in the first place with the lack of regulations and allowing insider trading thru stock buybacks. This system focuses heavily on quarterly projections and earnings and is the reason why there is always conflict between management and workers, because the US system allows companies to be shaped to focus on the people at the top instead of putting equal value on every employee.

When he golfs or leaves the WH, he stays at his own hospitality businesses, along with his entourage and security detail: do you think he doesn't charge for that? He has instructed all kinds of other government employees to do likewise, e.g. Pence, the US Air Force, etc.. Foreign countries book rooms at his hotels that they never stay in. Even Jared is in on the action: he leased his Billion dollar loss of an investment in 666 Fifth Avenue to the Qataris, who had mysteriously been blockaded by the Saudis just prior.
