@@nickhickson8738 I have been doing it a while now… Thanks for watching.
Lovely detail added to the top of those posts
Dan always does tidy work. Never seen the baserail turn up side down tho. But good idea 👍🏽
Good show regarding the Building Regulations
Great work. Looks fab.
lover the good work you do as a team on the channel

Nice job !!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Another quality job by two young wipper snappers 👍👍😂.
Top lad Dan 👍👍👍
Thanks Brian.
guy who taught me a lot of carpentry passed on what he was told to work to with balustrade spacing 'nut width' i.e. if you can just about get your nuts between them then its ok. Perhaps not one to relay to the customer, but you certainly don't forget!
That’s why the guy who taught you nutted on your head so many times to get the message across to you. You’ll never forget! 😂
Love Dan. when can we get the King back? we like Clever too but hes got his whole own channel now. cheers Rogger and the SB Team.
James King will come back from time to time.
Why put glue on timber that will surely expand and contract? Will it not split and tare?
Never seen the word balustrade written down after all these years painting them lol
Hi Dan, I hope you're well. Is that your Hikoki framing nailer? How do you like it? I thought you had the Hilti?
Hi Lee, I’m good thanks, hope you too. Roger lent me that nail gun..it’s superb , very powerful however it’s also rather heavy. So I use it on certain jobs now. Not at arms length when roofing..
Daniel Cox Roger gave you that nail gun.......... no need to return it.
@@SkillBuilder Roger said treat it like it’s yours… I’ve just sold it. 😆
@@Ultimate-roofing-square. Ha ha 😂😂
Interested in your nail bag Dan looks good could you give details please
Hi Paul, My nail bag is a Mc guire and Nichols. My dad and I bought them at the same time and I stole this one off him as he’s now retired… 😬 my hammer holder is a Occidental, it’s around £50 but worth every penny.. very well made. I made my belt myself, mitre mate glued the leather straps which hold the D rings.
Looks very comfortable you made a good job of it
What is it with those post holders being 10mm too small... I have encountered the exact same issue with the 80mm posts and the post holders are all 70mm. Not sure why everything has to be hard work in the UK.
It is a mystery.
How’s James doing these days, any projects coming up involving him?
yes we have a couple. He has left the building industry now and had all his tools stolen so he will be doing very limited jobs with very few tools. It should appeal to the diyer.
Compression vs Tension
Vs Stress 🤣👍
Great job but not for me! It’s more work for a professional, I think.
My mate, who works for the council, said that you should always "measure once, cut twice". This is the first comment, btw.
Fantastic job its old school and you wont get better work - Unfortunately theres not many customers will pay for this quality of work when you can do it in a quarter of the time with screws and bolts - It will look exactly the same and still be be strong enough to do the job - Since the EU changed the formula for the tanalising fluid it doesnt last like it used to - Used to last 30 years now it gets a green fuzz on it after a couple of years and if not treated again begins to rot.
Dan's railings will last a lot longer than something that was slapped together with screws, 👍💪🔨🇮🇪
@@TheToolnut I have been screwing them together with decking screws for over 30 years ,done hundreds and never had one fail yet - If i morticed everything in the labour cost would be astronomical and it wouldnt last any longer - The tanalising starts to break down after 3 to 4 years so if you maintain it correctly it will last if you dont it will start to rot - its all down to how well the customer looks after it - sealing end grain etc when you are on the job only last a few years after that its down to the customer !
