This video was originally posted on 24th August 2023 after we visited the shipyard in Marina di Carrara to investigate if 'Putin's Yacht' as it is know by the locals was still there and what if anything was happening with the yacht.
The video was removed from KZhead after a complaint by the captain onboard Guy Bennett-Pearce, claiming his privacy was being violated because his name and personal data appeared onscreen. And the lawyers argued that because we weren't expressly talking about him in the video's audio his data should not appear in the video.
However, the fact that a British Captain remains working onboard a Superyacht possibly owned by the Russian President after he invaded Ukraine is a very newsworthy part of the video!
We did however remove his personal data other than his name as we felt it was not needed to tell the story. Depsite this KZhead removed the video. We have appealed that decision but we do not hold much hope the decision will be reversed. Here is the video again uploaded, without his personal data but information on what happened.
Please be sure to share with everyone you know.
Here is the original video posted by the Navalny Team (still posted on KZhead with no redactions).

  • What strikes me is the 16 tons helipad ! According to wikipedia, a Blackhawk has only a MTOW (Maximum Take Off Weight) of 10 660 kg, or just over 10 tons (+ a second helicopter of up to 6,9 tons on the bow) ! Saying this yacht is build to accommodate military aircrafts or possibly armored aircrafts seems fairly reasonable....

    • Its not unreasonable that the private yacht of a head of state would be built to accommodate presidential aircraft. Putin has access to... anything he wants, but specifically uses an Mi-8 and a AW139s. The Mi would need the heavy duty pad.

They're a bit of a nuisance and can get in the way - hence the screens. They do usually have peepholes in them though. They're called L'umarell and even made it into the dictionary Zingarelli in 2021 - "Pensioner who wanders around, mostly with his hands behind his back, at work sites, checking, asking questions, giving suggestions or criticizing the activities that take place there". 😊
