Seeing the thumbnail brings me back. Blue Exorcist was the first anime I ever watched, and it was a while ago. I loved it then and I love it still. Though I don't really trust myself to give it an accurate rating, as again, it was the first I watched and I loved it. I'd probably be biased.
My first was Full Metal Alchemist
I don't necessarily agree with the assumption that your first anime would be your favourite anime because mine was Hetalia and I'm not at all nostalgic for that show when looking back today. And with series that got me into anime like One Punch Man Season 1 I still like but have found better since. Plus, you have to consider that when you're watching your first anime series you might also be comparing to shows you've seen outside of anime. People can say Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is overrated in terms of anime series but in terms of television series overall and the high fantasy of any medium it does deserve a lot of the praise it gets. Which I feel people don't consider a lot when reviewing anime sometimes, how much has one enjoyed it compared to shows outside of anime.
And so our hero grabbed his fly swatter and played some epic music. The battle between Brayden and the fly was about to begin!
