Watch the extremely brutal moment a duiker cries for help in the dying moments of its life, as a cheetah makes the kill.
BOOK YOUR TRIP TO KRUGER: bit.ly/BookatKruger
This rare sighting was filmed by Zandri White, 27-year-old guide at AndBeyond Phinda Private Game Reserve, while she was on her way home.
Send in your wildlife video here, and earn money: www.latestsightings.com/partn...
Zandri tells LatestSightings.com the story: “It was a rainy afternoon and I was returning home along the main road that runs through the reserve. I spotted movement in my peripheral view off the road and slowed down when I noticed a female cheetah and her cub.
She suddenly started trotting across the road up ahead of me and within seconds increased her speed to a run. She disappeared in some long grass on the opposite side of the road and seconds later reappeared on the road holding a common duiker in her mouth!”
“She seemed to struggle to get a good hold of it, as the wet clay soil on the road was quite slippery underneath her feet. The cries of the common duiker seemed to encourage her to work even harder to silence it as it could potentially attract the attention of other predators in the area. It was interesting to see how she tried to use her body weight to pin the duiker down and how it retaliated by kicking back at her soft belly with its sharp little hooves when it got a chance.”
“There was a moment where the duiker nearly slipped out of her grasp indicating how hard it was really kicking her. It took at least 6 minutes for the little antelope's body to finally go limb, longer than one would expect, but he put up a good fight! At the end of the video, you can see her dragging the little antelope a little closer to where she left her cub and you can also hear her calling to it.”
“It all happened so quickly and I couldn't believe my luck! She managed to successfully catch the little antelope so quickly and right in front of me. Once she pulled it onto the road it was hard not to feel sorry for the little antelope as it cried fighting for its life. But at the same time, I felt happy and excited for her as she managed to get some food for her and her cub. There was a point where I started to get worried that nearby predators might hear the cries of the Duiker and potentially steal her food from her. Luckily she and her cub were seen again later that afternoon with full bellies.”
“The sighting ended as he pulled the little antelope further down the road closer to where her cub was hiding in the long grass. She started calling back to her cub and it came to feed immediately whilst mom took a moment to catch her breath.”
“I have been lucky enough to see a few Cheetah kills during my time as a guide at Phinda. This one was really unique in that the take down of the Duiker happened so quickly yet to kill it took such a long time. Usually, when Cheetah catch something slightly larger like an impala or nyala, they don't make too much noise and the animal is killed relatively quickly. Yet, in this case, a small antelope put up a big fight.”
“If anyone else is lucky enough to witness a kill like this, try to watch it and appreciate nature at its finest. It won't always be easy to watch but you will probably never see anything like it again. Some people spend years on safari to experience interactions like this."

Yes But Hyena and Wild dogs eat alive
@@abc-ti4be that why i love them
The Majingilane did'nt kill Kinky Tail Mapogo before eating him
@@abc-ti4be they also eat what they find dead
Actually NOT! Lions tend to start feading on their prey while it's alive. Depends on if that is a single lion who hunt or more - if single, she/he usually kill the prey before the feeding, obviously because it is hard to feed alone on a kicking prey. If more; one of them usually tries to suffocate, the rest start to eat immediately. If the prey is male; usually start with the testicles, because that is the softest part of a prey where they can open up the body. There is nothing to do with "compassion, kindness" when things come to food, it was never about that, and ignorance is the only thing why people demonize Wild Dogs and Hyenas. Their built is simply not for suffocate, and because they are not really primal predators, they have to eat faster, before Lions recognize the kill, and steal it from them.
Cheetah has to be careful and quick with this kill. A lot of other predators will come in and steal all their hard work.
Which kind of surprise me when watching this, I thought predator with short mouths like them will have a very strong bite that can snap the neck of their preys. This one looks like it take a while to die.
@@vanlao6367 I think typically the ones who have small jaws like the cheetah has a far harder time finishing prey than animals with larger jaws like say the lion, tiger, leopard, or even a hyena (even hyena's have a stronger bite force than cheetahs since hyena's have way bigger jaws) so that's why I believe it takes a cheetah awhile to finish it's prey compared to the other's I mentioned.
Cheetah: OK. Better kill this meal fast before stronger predators pop up Deer: *AAAAAAAHHHHH* Cheetah: Jesus christ! Be quiet!

My Heart was Melting like Ice because of impalas crying
It's a real Deal
Its the circle of life
hitman sharma why your heart was melting this is the nature deal with it. cheetah is carnivore he cant eat plants they also need food to survive. just like us and other animals
I don't think you'll have much success as a hitman, Sharma
So don’t u eat beef or chicken? Do you think the meat you eat come from above? 😃 Imagine the screams of animals you ate....... 😂
The last thing he said was “aahhhhh”
😆😆😆😆😆
@@GreenBoy424 your profile name should be your permanent name
I can hear that Cheetah thinking "hey you putting up all this ruckus you clearly don't understand you lunch so settle down'
The animal wasn’t trying to make it suffer. It was trying to kill it quickly but failed.
The cheetah was young. Clearly it was still learning how to handle the thing.
Tatiane o que que é isso
Ok
Not young. They don’t have strong jaw strength. Bite power.
@@rameshpudhucode6862 The cheetah was young and inexperienced of course. Do all Cheetahs usually take this long to kill a prey? There's no argument here.
@@omamajohnpaul4215 Osama Bin Laden
Trust me little one, you don't want to cry for help, other predators aren't this merciful.
it's their food, u know they must eat to survive...
@@douma6687 i am aware of that lol
@Biggy Boris You ain't lying! 😂 Wild dogs and hyenas would have eaten him alive...
@@ThaOlBoy that's a leopard leopards are dangerous too but it had just eaten so it moved away.
@@douma6687 That's definitely a Cheetah sir. Leopards are waaaay more stocky and have a wider/thicker skull.
Cheetah: "I'm I doing this throat biting thing right?"🦌🐆 Me: "Dude you're doing it wrong" 😬
2:52 you heard the neck snap, Cheetah- FINALLY!
The buck: You will hear my cries in your sleep I will make you suffer Than the cheetah got insomnia 🤷
This cheetah always takes responsibility for his own actions, he never... PASSES THE BUCK
Agreed!! The cheetah loudly proclaimed, " The buck stops HERE !!!".
He would never Cheetah'm out of a BUCK
See yourself out young man!
Oracle Gray very good
Most excellent comments 👍🤣😂
Cheapest meal ever for the cheetah. Only a buck!
you raggedy a## Bi#$% lololololol im dying lol
Hmm is elephant cheap meal too?
@Lubabalo thank ya. Thank ya. Lol
I knew it xD.
So wrong but funny
That’s a very inefficient cheetah
but yet people say hunting is cruel 😂
All that noise, surprised the other predators didn't show up to take it.
That's what I was thinking. I was like man, the cheetah needs to hurry up and kill it before another predator comes 😤
All that cries would most likely lure hyenas
Cheetahs mostly hunt when the lions and hyenas are taking a nap, but who knows what happened after this video ended. Maybe the cry made a lion woke up and then that lion stole the prey from the cheetah?
You could literally hear that antelope neck snap 2:51
😪
Im glad it died at last its screams were so annoying
@@smoovejr🤬
Wow!!💔💔
Yes
It's must be a rookie young Cheetah still not great at killing prey yet
That cheetah just ran fucking 50 mph, how much energy you think he has left
Buck: is slightly slower than the other antelope Nature: "lmao get eaten xdxd"
This actually is the worst death someone could ever have.
May I direct you to the video on this channel of half an impala being eaten alive.
@@ath_vigil okay, but why?
Scalping burning or skining alive for all the three of course. Edit : Naming few by the way
I guess walaalo, you haven't seen zebra head being chewed by crocs while still alive.
What about the buffalo stuck in the mud getting his balls and ass eaten by a hyena?
The cheetah was a beginner, it didn’t bite hard enough to close the windpipe.
Yes young cheetah
Yeah it would seem so. I was thinking hurry and kill it, the cries are annoying.

@@lavion219 dude, it's also a diet. It's not some sort of sacred esoteric enlightenment
I’m surprised that the cheetah actually managed to kill that duiker buck without getting mugged. What with all of the buck’s screaming, that would’ve attracted hordes of wild dogs or hyenas, leopards or worst case scenario, a lion
I thought the same.
Right? It kept looking up to see if anyone was coming, genuinely worried.
The little fellow just didn't want to take a nap. Kudos to the cheetah for being patient and persistent, finally got the little fellow to go to sleep.
I mean, at least the cheetah was nice enough to I guess choke it out to knock it our so it wouldn’t feel anything well being eaten. Know that it needed to eat but was nice enough to put the little guy out of his misery in a humane way.
Fuck the cheetah.
Real funny ! You need to be out to sleep !
