  • In “Cheburashka” they talking about an fictional guy who was a big man in criminal world. His nickname was “Cheburashka”. Main mass of their stories in tunes are fictional (do not know if any of those are actually real). They using it to describe how actually bad criminal life could or can get back in in 1990s or/and our days etc.

  • Krovostok is like a storyteller, not a common rapper. Every song is a new fictional story, mostly about criminal types, sometimes with mystics in it. He is popular coz the lyrics is unprecedently raw, blood and meat, and the flow is unusual

    • Их unusual flow называется spokenword или декламация по русски. В этом жанре довольно много исполнителей, но естественно не на нашем языке. На русском в направлении реп наберётся пару: схожие по тематике solomadistrict, так же МБ Пакет, некоторые произведения Макулатуры, Дважды-в-день - просто декламация чаще используется в единичных случаях для смены атмосферы или ещё за чем в рамках альбома нежели как концепт для всего творчества, потому что она не требует скиллов, а вокалист зачастую хочет их показывать если они у него есть

This is the opinion of the lyrical hero, not the author. P.S. - The songs of the Bloodstock are like Tarantino films. Lots of violence and dark humor.

  • 59:50 krovostok is a band, there is 3 people - Shilo, Phantomas 2000, Fel'dman. Shilo is a main singer and also he makes all covers. Phantomas 2000 is a beatmaker and back MC on concerts. Fel'dman is a producer of band and he makes 80% of lyrics, only other 20% makes Shilo

  • Кровосток (BloodStream) is not a gangsta rap and Шило (Awl) is not a rapper. He is street artist. BloodStream was conceived as an art project to break the usual restrictions of rap. The lyrics consist mostly of slang words, figurative meaning and are wrapped in a violent atmosphere. To be honest, I don't think you'll like it. To understand BloodStream, you need to understand the lyrics, plus keep in mind the fact that this is post-irony, and possibly post-post-irony. Don't take his words too seriously! BloodStream doesn't teach you about life, BloodStream just tells crazy stories.

"Кровосток" вам онлайн переводчики не переводят потому что не существует в природе такой вещи. Это дурачки придумали, якобы на ножах выемка чтобы кровь стекала. На самом деле эта выемка делалась и на мечах, и на саблях, конечно же, не для крови, а для облегчения клинка и придания ему дополнительного ребра жесткости. Называется эта выемка в русской терминологии дол, а в английской "fuller" или реже "groove". Но ежели всё-таки хочется подчеркнуть не смысл слова, а его зловещее звучание, то логичнее всего "Blood drain", раз уж там кровоСток, а не кровоТёк

    • Yep. Conceptually, Krovostok is as far from gangsta rap as it gets. It was just that, an attempt to almost ridicule gangsta rap by deliberately taking it to the extreme - and beyond. Kinda like gore, but the author behind it is an academically educated artist who writes the lyrics and raps himself to highlight the irony / ridicule as, in real life, he's the exact opposite of what a gangsta rapper would be. And the second layer of irony is that Shilo (I'd maybe say Shank or Shiv would make for a better translation in this specific case) is fully aware that there will be an audience who will buy all that as if it was a real thing, firsthand accounts of some nasty shit given by an actual gangster. So, there's double mockery here: of the genre itself and of the people who are not intelligent enough to realize that such far-fetched gore delivered by a guy, who you can Google in under a minute to find out he's an intellectual, is totally fake.

  • Kenneth, you can't understand what is said in the songs, cause you didn't live in the Russia 90s. After the Soviet Union collapsed, crime rates in Russia were extremely high. These songs are stories about these times, the people, crimes, and drugs. The translations that you have used were also inaccurate. Cheburashka is a character in soviet movie, who has big ears. "Cheburashka" from the song is the nickname of the criminal who had big and broken ears. Edik, Danila and etc. are just Slavic names, that were used in the songs. In the song "Vegetable" it was meant the vegetable state of the guy, who used drugs and drank alcohol a lot, so he become disabled. He got the ability to live one day in the body of another person inside Russia, for example, as it was shown in the song, Ksenia Sobchak(Russian journalist), and Mikhalkov (an old Russian film director). The song "Amphibia" is about a guy, whose body was pushed into the water with a hard battery on his leg. Underwater inhabitants cured him and saved his life, he became an amphibian. The song "Biography" is about a typical gangster in the 90s. There were a lot of inaccuracies in the translation, for example, "fucked district officer" actually should be "beat up district officer". To sum up, I agree with other guys who put comment, that to understand Krovostok's tracks you need to be born in Russia or other post-soviet countries to understand the meaning. Unfortunately, you also missed a lot of really cool tracks, for example, "Представьте" and "Куртец". Basically, the idea of Krovostok songs are crime stories of Russia 90s.

  • 45:52 Sunset was crimson. Translater not translate 'al' as crimson. 54:10 "Threw my first stick" - he got laid 55:38 "I got a kidney injury in army" this line is not translated well. He said completely different words. He said that he skipped obligatory army because of health issue with kidney. This does not claim that he has kidney problems, most likely he forged a medical examination paper for a bribe.

  • With all due respect, the translations I've seen across the video lack the editor's afterthought (and probably a reason to diregard this kind of translation altogether). They are translated as is, and because of that, I can see how it may be really hard to really appreciate the artistic design that Krovostok applied to their stories. What I'm trying to say is: Shakespeare poetry is accordingly translated into poetry into other languages. Same here: the stories Krovostok tells about their heroes: Sniper, Cannibal, Amphibian Man, etc -- a lot of the narrative of the songs is not literal, there's the place for metaphorical use and the knowledge of folklore is implied. While one may appreciate the beat and get rough sense from the translation of what it said in the songs, only understanding Russian language on advanced level would open the world to Krovostok language. The band is simple in verses, but digs very deep in their search of characters and the language their characters speak with, it resonates deeply within the culture of specific regions and slang used in some parts of the country. Funnily enough, majority of the villains in their songs do have linguistic exceptional traits that give the vivid listener an idea, that they are not illiterate. This is purposeful, and in a sense synthetic: Krovostok band in no way originated as ghetto band and produced from the ghetto background of the singers / songwriters, even though massively inspired by the stories of criminals and drawing the world of thugs and psychopaths. They are very well versed and their characters inherited that trait, no matter how fucked up each of their hero is. This is educated rapping about seemingly blunt, bloodthirsty and troubled people with all sorts of fucked up and addictions, but each and every character of that storytelling has the signature of educational enrichment of the band. Probably that is why in Russia being on the concert of Krovostok, you'd see people of all ages, teens and those who are well in their fifties: band achieves to be fun and thoughtful on different levels of digestion of their music.
