Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Space & Aerial Battle of Scarif Supercut

I never saw the movie Rogue One, but heard it had a really great space battle set piece. Though much like the Battle of Endor it's broken up throughout the movie. So I made a supercut of the space battle scenes back in 2017 and hey it was well received, then Disney did their thing and yeah, anyway it's back for now. Update: The Appeal was successful and this video will be up for the foreseeable future!

It’s safe to say that all of those were destroyed. Additionally, the Rebel starfighter wing took heavy losses, and that’s the most relevant part to Yavin. They lost easily half of all the fighters sent, including the leader of the Rebel starfighter wing (Blue Leader, I can’t remember his name atm.)

      @mrobocop1666@mrobocop1666Ай бұрын
    • The Hammerhead's impact on the Star Destroyer should have been barely noticeable by the Star Destroyer's personnel. A Star Destroyer is ~1600 meters long, a Hammerhead is ~120 meters long, so the Star Destroyer is ~13 times as long. Cubing this means the Star Destroyer is over two thousand times the mass of the Hammerhead. So if the Hammerhead was moving at ~2000 meters per second, the resulting impact will have the Star Destroyer moving at 1 meter/second. The scene should have been the Hammerhead impacting with the Star Destroyer crew hearing a thump and maybe a small jolt (gravity still worked, so inertial dampening likely still worked). But as the Hammerhead is in the notch with its engines at full, the bridge crew sees their ship approaching the other Star Destroyer and realize that something is wrong.

I love X-wings doing SEAD(supression of enemy air defense) on the shield gate before Y-wings start their attack run. As the battle continues, remaining X-wings form a flight group and engage Ties among their fleet. Smaller capital ships like the ghost moving around the flagship trying to shoot down Ties and hopefully reduce some firepower to the Profundity by surrounding it was also great.

While it was still numbers advantage, they actually had legitimate presence in the battle, were rapidly claiming kills even as they lost ships and were posed as a legitimate threat to the Capital ships. Getting to have the pilot cam on the Imperial pilots with that black pilot suit and them being legitimately deadly makes the battle feel so much more tense.

Sad. With a little smile of "we actually did it..." Nothing of this is great. They fought hard and lost a lot of people. Yes, the goal was achieved, but the music recognize the cost all these people paid for just one transmission. It just shows how much grounded the vision of the events was put before making this film. And a little of, I'd say, feeling all the heroes as saint, considering what had to be done. And there is Death Star on the horizon...
