HE SAID THIS SIDEWALK HASNT BEEN TOUCHED IN YEARS!!! When I stumbled along this widewalk a kind man told me the background story behind why it's so overgrown. He also told me his story and offered to help with cutting it down because the cops have harassed him from being on the road but theres now way he could walk on the sidewalk with the over growth.. LET ME KNOW WHAT YALL THINK of this makeover it was an awesome one and big thanks to Kevin for helping me with it!

Not only did this improve the situation for those such as yourself, but I think that it was impeding the line of vision for drivers coming around that curve. On top of it all this improvement was no doubt performed using state or federal funding and then they’ve just let itdeteriorate like that

    • If you have mobility problems, you're lucky to find ANY sidewalk, most are broken, don't have cutaways to get on & off, end suddenly in the middle of nowherez ❤have no crosswalks, are overgriwb or there are tree roots that make them impassable. Restrooms have super heavy doors in public places - healthcare facilities are the WORST. Mobility services are extremely limited & orovate services are driven out by subsidized public services. Ramps to get on & off public transportation are a danger to everyine, they detect a standing a dult but not a small xhild or someone in a wheelchair. What Al does, es9. here, is a true gift from God for thise of us who struggle with mobility, esp. if mpbility issues are compounded by severe pain as they are with me. And the DEW has decided thebopioid crisis is solely because ofnpain oatients so while addicts shoot uo on the street & no onenhelps them get free, pain patients struggle to ger very mild pain medicine. Many could still wprk and pay taxes if they could get the paintp ease off (chronic pain never goes away fully, it just eases enough to bear). Pain also causes fatigue, which makes the pain worse in a vicious cycle. So Al, THANK YOU for this. Scouts looking for a project how about foghting for handicapped friendly sidewalks in your communities? Gather support one sidewalk at a time, get petitions signed, submit to elected officials, post on social media, get other troops involved in your area. This would be community service as well and would be inclusive of differently abled people.

I'm sick of this kind of comment, people saying "oh he's such a good person he even is nice to homeless people" as though we are not worth being treated nicely and if someone is nice to us, oh they must be a good person if they are nice to THEM! There was a time when people would say, "oh, he's such a good person he's even nice to [racial word] people," but to say it now would be unacceptable. And so is saying it about us just because we don't have a place to live for a while because our job doesn't pay enough! I'm so sick of being seen as THAT WORTHLESS to everyone!!!!!!!!

    • @tacomamusic Exactly. People aren't really refusing to work *any* job. They're just sick and tired of getting used and destroyed for a relative pittance compared to what they make some guy sitting in a board room somewhere not sweating, getting cussed at, or spit on but saying "we" have to tighten our belts to meet a quarterly earnings target *he* set. No more paid hour lunch breaks. No more gold watches or training from the mail room to president of the company. Now, it's layoffs and outsourcing and setting hours under 40 so you don't qualify for health insurance. Now, it's 2 people in the whole store, 8 self checkouts, and no cost savings to you, the customer. How many entry levels jobs are 0 experience? How many companies are training new people and providing a wage on which you can raise a family with one breadwinner? A lot of people are willing to work hard. Kevin's out here doing it out of the kindness of his heart, for his community, and for himself. He's fighting. Doesn't mean he should be taken advantage of when he gets back into the workforce. Doesn't mean he shouldn't be able to pass on a job that doesn't pay enough for him to keep a house. That's not refusing to work. That's just survival and common sense standards. His choosing to work for no expected money shouldn't be used as a dig along with the "Nobody wants to work" catchphrase.

That's why you'll also see a good majority of us with pets. We take in the ones that get dumped on the street cause they're 1. too old 2. too young 3. mom had too many babies 4. they're moving??? 5. they're having a baby and don't want the dog anymore or are afraid it'll bite the baby....???? Most will see the baby as their own baby or at the least as a playmate. 6. OR just plain TIRED of it. Sadly, those same ppl look at the homeless in most of the same ways.

I don't understand how a police officer can fine someone who walks on the road for obvious reasons. An officer should recognize such a situation and know that he cannot impose a fine for it. Isn't the municipality responsible for the roads and sidewalks and their maintenance? That is the case here in the Netherlands. It seems to me that you can easily reclaim such a fine from the municipality. It is no longer a matter of 'being difficult to pass', but completely 'impassable'. In any case, great video!!
