Nicola Sturgeon shares a funny story about one of the Queen's corgis during a speech in Scottish Parliament in remembrance of the late monarch.
The First Minister spoke during the tabling of a motion of condolence, paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, "the anchor of our nation".

The Queen was so attached to Scotland and its people. After all she was half Scottish ! This is so comforting to know that she spent her last living moment at Balmoral 💕

I’m really impressed with Nicola Sturgeon, I’ve heard her speak a few times now about the Queen, she has had such kind and gracious words to say.
That, and I just love to listen to anyone speaking with a Scottish accent 😏
Now that's what a good speech sounds like.
It is heartening to hear such words together with anecdotes of private times with the Queen. She was indeed stoic, dedicated to serving her country and realm but she was also a beautiful human being who loved her family.
And that is how to do it properly. A lovely tribute very well said.

Most heartfelt address by a lovely lady to Our Queen. Very true that she also expresses that it is very difficult to come to terms with the Queen's passing. Despite having watched many videos since the Queen's passing, I remain stunned and in disbelief. Wonderful also to hear the respective memories people share of their time with the Queen.

Please note, That the First Minister uses all the members of the Royal Family's Scottish titles. In Scotland Her Majesty was called Queen Elizabeth and not "the Second". This is because Elizabeth the first was not a monarch over Scotland. Indeed she ended off by calling her, Queen Elizabeth, Queen of Scots.
I thought that was especially lovely. ❤
In such a context, nobody would be confused about which Queen Elizabeth she was talking about, so using the Reginald number wasn’t needed anyway.

The Queen grew up in Scotland that is why it was close to her heart and spent her last days in Balmoral. Scotland should treasure the Monarchy.

The Queen grew up in London. She had an annual holiday in Scotland.
@@MissClassix She was born in London, as was her mother, daughter of the Earl of Strathmore. Most of the earls of Strathmore were born in London, but spent time in Scotland.

I would never have thought I would say this but I miss her. She was always there. During good times and bad. And now that she has passed, it feels to unreal to see another monarch on the throne. Yes, I do miss her. And admire what she has done.
