I am African, but I don't remember a day when father scolded us or got angry out loud on us . He would just tell his disappointment in calm conversational way. My mother does all the yelling and the beating, though . My father didn't like that. He believed it is counterproductive. Love my dad. Best father in the world. We grew up disciplined kids .

- Where in Africa? Coz where I come from, when it comes to school the dads don't mess around. I remember my dad pinching and pulling my ears, hitting my head and making me sob when I messed up something school related lol.
