When i say big it means a 200-300 meters long and 3 meter high. We ask locals and they told us it was a underground compleks, and there is a house in witch nazi generals were hiding at the end of the war. And few minute later we found this house, there is a big stone on witch is writen in german that in this house this generals were here when american soliders cought them. Adults always told us to never go to them places - when I was young my cat went there and never came out! • Sometimes it turns out interesting places are closer to home then you might think! A few years ago I found out the Wolf's Lair was within acceptable driving distance from home, thanks to this video I also learned about Hochwald so when I finally go to visiting the Wolf's Lair last summer Hochwald was the first stop on the way there. Even though not much is left of the complex a visit to the Himmler bunker is worth a visit for sure.

  • 5:41 The guy to the right of Himmler (Black coat and glasses) is Subhash Chandra Bose. He was an Indian Freedom Fighter who unlike Gandhi was willing use violence to expel the British from India. Here, in this meeting he was discussing the plans of a possible German intervention. His story is fascinating and should be checked out. He even had a German wife during that time (Amidst Nuremberg laws).
